This motel has been here for many decades and from the outside you'd be put off. When debating driving the 200 miles back home at night, or spending $250+ for a local hotel, I decided to give this place a try for $70. I only hoped it was clean & safe enough to actually sleep in. I was honesty surprised by how modern & clean was the room. Yes, the room was tiny, the towels were scratchy, sheets were not thread count, pillows not feathered, and I would not take a black light to a motel that has only one-bed rooms, but for the price and comfort I would stay here again. I've given the place 4 stars based on the type of motel. Sadly I've paid a lot more to stay in places a lot less nice. Note: Try and get a second floor room, to avoid the noise from entry doors and windows at sidewalk level. …
Spacious and nice room. Noise every night, weird and rude staff. I had pre-paid the stay, but they charged me additionally. Every afternoon I ´ve had to go to front-desk to re-activate my door card for next day.
No amenities tells why it was a two star. Room had no closet or place to hang clothing. The shower had no place to put soap or shampoo other than on the floor. Breakfast was available across the street at Panera's. The carpeted stairway to the second floor was very steep and narrow and never vacuumed. The through the wall HVAC unit was loud even on low. The bedding had fist size lumps near the bottom. I joked that it was okay as none were moving. And the walls were thin and the bed was right against the wall. It felt and sounded like the amorous couple in the next room was sharing a bed with us. It wasn't all bad though and was a perfect example of getting what you paid for, maybe even ai bit more. The king size bed was very comfortable. The room was looked and smelled clean, .. Now saying no amenities was a bit unfair. The room has adequate, free Wi-Fi and a large flat screen TV. It had a coffee maker and coffee enough for one person. My wife has threatened violence if I ever book a room there again. In a pinch, I'd stay there and if price was important, it offered real value for the price.…
Do you want to stay in a place that photocopies your driver's license at check-in? Do you want to stay in a place where there is no hair dryer in the room? Or a place where it is acknowledged that the Choice Hotels website can automatically save two rooms instead of just the one you reserved, but that you are made to feel that that somehow is your fault? Or when you ask for the name of the manager, the sad clerk blankly responds, "What happened?" In other words, expect robotic one-size-poorly-fits-all service but a passable room. Fewer complaints about the actual room, other than no shelving whatsoever in the bathroom and a bathroom light that is on a 10-second timer. If the clerks don't drive you crazy, that light will.
I didn't expect too much for this 2-night stay, and it didn't exactly exceed my expectations but there were no particular downsides, troubles or outrageous aspects to this place and the room I had on the 2nd floor. Only really weird thing is the shower has completely sleek flat walls, very modern-looking design, except it lacks anywhere to put soap or shampoo while you're showering. What's up with that? Anyway, not bad, for the price offered on Lollapalooza weekend (no, I was not in town for that event).
The room was minuscule. No closet, no hangars. I had to drape my clothes over two wooden chairs. Small bathroom with no space to place anything.....just a pedestal sink.Towels were small and paper thin. No hairdryer. I found a long, dark hair on the toilet seat upon arrival. UGH! Housekeeping came between 5-6 each day, just as I was changing to go out to dinner. I was gone all day each day so they had hours to clean my room. On Friday they came as I was getting into the shower and said they couldn't come back. No cleaning for that day! Very dark and depressing. I left for the airport 3 1/2 hours early just to escape this place.
This place is clean but the rooms are small with not much space to put your luggage down. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are decent for the price. The location it just north of the la GE city park and also close to restaurants and Starbucks which helps because there is no breakfast provided with your room. Parking is limited and very close to the rooms. The layout of the motel is weird as it is more like a duplex with other guests overhead and across the hall. Fortunately no noisy neighbours. Worth it for a very short stay but not for longer.
Hallway smelled bad, room was almost as bad. Bought a candle and some air freshener to help with the smell. Had to fix the toilet myself to get it to flush. Air Conditioner did not cool very well and made the room very humid. Lighting in the rooms was not very good, very dark. Bathroom was well lit though. Staff seem nice, but never smiled the entire time we were there. My guess is they aren't happy to work there, because they must get a lot of complaints. Both of my kids woke up with bug bites, so I suspect there is some infestation in the place. We would have just went to another hotel, but we had already paid in advance for the room and could not get our money back. (Plus it is likely that all the other hotels were booked due to the Navy Graduation, the reason we were there ourselves). Bottom line, if I had payed attention to reviews, I could have booked a much better place for the same price.…
I supposed to meet my son who’s flight from Denver was delayed. Me and my daughter arrived at midnight just to be rudely greeted by a male representative. He basically said we can’t stay since reservation was on my sons name. He did not offer to sit down, water or anything, basically sent us out to wait until my son was trying to resolve issues. I understand there are rules, but who sends two girls out in the dark? After midnight? At the worst he could offer us another room that we would pay... but he just said : you can’t stay here. We were tired, exhausted even. There were no place even to sit.. We obviously did not feel safe either. Took the Uber and booked another place. Even when rules are in order, there are different ways to talk to clients. This is not hospitality. He was hostile. I did not ask his name and don’t remember him wearing tag. LOOK ELSEWHERE! THIS PLACE SUX. …
1) My room was sold out from underneath me, BE AWARE OF THE 6PM HOLD. if your do not check in by 6pm your room will be sold to someone else, even if you have been talking with them all day and explaining your situation. 2) You cannot understand what they are saying one the phone. It’s even worse in person. 3) They do not care about your situation and will not work with you on anything. If I could give them negative stars I would. DO NOT STAY HERE.
