Bed Bugs 🤢🤮. I stayed in Room 51. The manager informed me that he'd give me a whole FREE Month stay at the SkyLark. Thanks!! And yes he's very rude and hateful. The other employees that work there are very nice and polite. They don't take anything personal, they just do their jobs. I took pictures of the bed bugs. I also called the police and made a police report. And I contacted the Human Services department.

My husband and I stayed at the Skylark this fall; we had an early flight out of Midway and didn't want to have to leave our house in the middle of the night to make our flight. The Skylark provided exactly what we were looking for: a clean, comfortable room, free parking right outside our door, reasonable price, and location -- location -- location! The motel is not quite 2 miles from the parking lot we had selected, so we were able to get a good night's sleep, and leave for the airport at a reasonable hour. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and had good lighting. Even though we were right off the street, we didn't experience noisy conditions (the aircraft taking off were noticeable, but after 11:00 pm, this was not an issue). I would stay here again.

Nasty dirty room, heard the people next to us having sex through the thin walls. Someone knocking on our door at 3am asking if their "Friend" was there. I told the female clerk the next day about it and she said "That was just a friend of mine"...Not a nice place, was up all night checking to see if my car had been broken in to.

This room was purchased for us thru a third party. When we first walked in it was...OMG! FILTHY and smelly and scary outdated! Filthy greasy carpet, old beds and linens, gross bathroom (the toilet was tiny and not attached to the floor). Porn on the TV. Half the electrical plugs didn't work. Dull lighting. LOTS of noise and you could hear all the people above and next door having noisy sex. Didn't sleep much because we kept checking on our vehicle too as it is a bad part of town. Bulletproof glass surrounds the front desk. RUN!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Not even worthy of one star.

My family got stranded at MDW for the night and couldn't find any hotels with vacancies in the area. After talking with a lady at the airport so directs taxi cabs at curbside, telling her our problem, she said that the Skylark Motel is around the corner....I called the office and we were in luck, they had rooms. We took a taxi after thanking her profusely for her help. We arrived a couple minutes later, paid the $95 and the clerk didn't have a key to the room, so gave us the master key to let ourselves in. We went up to the room opened the door and were horrified at our findings. The floors were so so old and dirty, the bedspreads were at least 40 years old, and in horrible shape, there was gum stuck to the headboard, the bathroom was real yucky. The thought of sleeping here made me want to cry. My teenage daughters were laughing and crying at the thought of staying here. Husband was appalled but exhausted and told the girls to "not think about it". I left the room to go down to return the master key to the office and began my dreaded walk back up to the dreadful awful room. As I arrived at "our door" My family was exiting the door and said, "we are outta here! " Praise the Lord! I went to the front desk and asked for a refund, which the clerk gave me no issues about. She even called us a cab. While we waited, we witnessed at least 3 short business transactions (truck pulled up, people came out to truck, grabbed something from driver and went back to their room. ) and 2 "dates". This is NOT a place for families, out of town guests or people who need to be near the airport. It is a motel for people up to NO GOOD! TRUST ME!!

I stayed at this motel a few weeks ago and despite everyone's negative reviews, I think this a good value for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was surprisingly clean and the bed was comfortable. Even though the area of the motel may not be the best (that's why they have police ordered signs to keep away streetwalkers), my stay was pleasant. I just stayed in my room, and ordered take out, and still felt safe enough. I think the people that gave this motel a negative review are over exaggerating quite a bit. I definitely would not mind staying at this motel again if I had to. For $90 a night in Chicago, this is as good as you're going to get. The other reviewers are looking for a 4 star hotel in the bad part of the city and for a cheap rate, be realistic, it's not going to happen.

Just needed somewhere to stay for the night while we were in town. Expedia set us up with this room over the phone so we had no pictures of the place or anything . We figured a room for 100 dollars would be decent enough to just sleep in. We arrive at the motel hoping the rooms look better than the outside of the motel. Go inside and we look at each other like REALLy?? I wouldn't of even paid 50 for this room. I didn't feel safe at all here. We slept with a chair up against the door. The carpet was filthy I didn't even walk on it without shoes. The tv had porn on channel 4. It was just a very unpleasant place to stay at. I was upset with Expedia that they would even recommend anyone to this hotel , especially after reading all these reviews. Yuck !!!!!! When morning came I was so glad to get out of that hell hole.

Door knob on bathroom door was broken, there was a crack in the mirror, the lights flickered, the TV had like 6 channels, but if you like hardcore porn, then you're in luck, it's on channel four. The day we left we turned on the heater (held to the wall with duct tape) and it popped and started smoking. We evacuated immediately..needless to say, we won't be staying here again!! Terrible!!

I would have rated this place NO stars if it had let me! We were just looking a place that was close to the airport and was relatively cheap. We should have known as soon as we were dropped off at this place what we were in for. The reception area is littered with signs saying "No prostitution allowed". Definitely a first for me! The lady behind the counter really wasn't too interested in being there or providing any service. We get to the room and it is disgusting - its just dirty! there are patches of carpet missing, bits of the headboards missing. Stains absolutely everywhere from the carpet to the curtains. The bathroom had no towels. The carpet was that dirty that walking from the bed to the bath made my white socks brown in a matter of steps. During the evening it was extremely noisy - obviously the "ladies of the night" really don't take too much notice of the signs in the reception because we could definitely hear ALL that was going on. I was counting down the hours til checkout! that's for sure- when we did checkout the lady wouldn't call us a cab, we then called but had all sorts of drama as we were calling from an international mobile number. What we later found out was the area was so bad that taxi's don't usually pick up from there which is why we wanted nearly an hour (needless to say when we did get picked up we gave the driver a massive tip as we were so glad to just be out of there). Probably the scariest moment was when we were waiting outside for the cab and my boyfriend had gone just across the street to get us a snack, a guy drove past me several times and asked if i was working... needless to say this was just icing on the cake for this trip. Even if you want to say there to save a few $$, i recommend not doing it! Pay the little extra and stay somewhere safe.

We just needed a place to crash, while our heater got fixed we are locals and learned the hard way about this place first of, the place is so unsecure, the doors are very flimsy...not a clean place... to place your head on the pillows, no!!!... and when my honey decided to place one of the chairs against the door, to make me feel a bit more secure in the room, what comes out from under the chair, about 50 condoms!!! at least they were still wrapped. but that was it for me... we just stormed out.
