My wife and I have visited Chicago numerous times and stayed in a few different Hotels mainly in Magnificent Mile area. So we decided to try a different area with friends this time and this area is wonderful with lots of hotel choices...The entire staff was very friendly and helpful but Brian at the front door went above and beyond with help on everyday of our stay. He literally treats guests like family & made our visit the best we have had in a long while. So our next visit to Chicago will definitely be at EMC2...Thank you Robert
I hosted a 1.5-day meeting at Hotel EMC2 for 35 people. PROS - Booking the meeting with Kevin was easy - Stefanie, my Sales contact, was accommodating, and communicated quickly. She sent room lists every Monday, performed a site inspection, checked in on us the morning of the meeting - Vincente, the banquet manager, did a great job of taking care of the group once we were onsite - The meeting space (Symmetry) has interesting decor, natural light, outlets on every table, built-in ceiling LCD, adjustable thermostat. It's the perfect size for 36, classroom style - Attendees were happy to receive Marriott points for their rooms - The online individual registration made my life easy - The food was excellent - We had a balcony, with seating for 18, at our disposal - The location is perfect: about two blocks from Michigan Avenue - Everyone loved their rooms. They were clean, dark at night, quiet, and the temperature could be controlled - Comfortable beds - Excellent WiFi - Fun hotel theme that's even incorporated into the WiFi password. We extended it to our meeting - Friendly front desk - Reasonable sleeping room and meeting room rates - Catering used glass rather than plastic - My room was ready before noon. Late checkout was allowed CONS - Some banquet items were a little pricey, but maybe that's just 2022 inflation - Most of the group arrived within a few hours of each other, and check-in was slow…
No housekeeping unless requestes. Slow and expensive Valet Parking and when you tell the front desk they say its third party and they have no control over it. Location is ok, close to Michigan avenue. Payed for room upgrade and gave me a spacious room with the worst view.
The EMC2 was one of the most luxurious, unique, and exciting hotels I’ve been to to date. The unique design of all the hotels furniture made it feel futuristic and very cool! They had little robots come to deliver food, drinks, towels and more to your room. The staff were so nice and ready to help with anything. The room was super clean, the windows were massive, the bathroom was beautiful and big, everything was just perfect. The EMC2 will always be one of my first choices for a place to stay in the Chicago area.
This hotel certainly lives up to it's interesting name. A business colleague of mine told me next time I was downtown I needed to stay here. So I did and I was quite impressed. Only pros needed for this hotel. Pros: 1. Everything in this hotel is nerdy. The elevators are R,G,B instead of 1,2,3. The room numbers are behind magnifying glasses. The furniture moves in interesting ways. And the bathroom fixtures are so unique. 2. The bed was very comfortable 3. The shower, though oddly situated, felt surprisingly big 4. Artwork was very intriguing 5. The location is fantastic Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
Beautiful modern hotel with great food, staff, and ambiance. Jackie, the bar manager, was so gracious and patient with our large party. Adam, our server/bar attendant, was phenomenal. Very personable, attentive, and accommodating. They both deserve raises! Well done, Emc2, well done!
From the moment I step foot into the hotel I was greeted with such a warm welcome. The front desk reps took great care of me when I checked in. Later that night they sent a cake with Cleo (hotel robots) to my room. They sure know how to make a guest feel welcome. hotel room maybe a little small but it’s clean, bed comfortable and the walls are thick so you don’t hear your neighbors. I like the slick artsy but modern look throughout the hotel. The downstairs bar and restaurant was very good and make great drinks. Try the espresso martini! You won’t be disappointed. I would definitely come back and stay here again . Thank you for a wonderful stay .
Stay has been wonderful. Location is fantastic, central in downtown Chicago- you can walk almost anywhere. Hotel is beautiful, the science meets art theme is unique and decor is a nice change from the usual. Room is very comfortable and amenities are great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!
Edgar with the Front Desk is so amazing and friendly - very accommodating! Thank you. What a wonderful property. Highly recommend. Great location. Beautiful boutique property in great location and new hotel.
Very cute hotel, wonderful front desk staff, convenient location. We enjoyed the restaurant for drinks, appetizers and desert. We stayed three nights and not one visit from housekeeping - we even had to contact the front desk for toilet paper. Reported a clogged shower after the first night, which wasn’t fixed so we spent the rest of our stay showering in ankle-deep in standing water. I’m not sure if the maintenance/housekeeping staff is extremely understaffed but it really brought down what was otherwise a nice stay.
