We had a wonderful time at Windamere, Our cabin was very clean, well equipped, spacious and very comfortable.
The staff at Windamere were very accommodating and helpful. We stayed a week and got to see all the views in the area.
This is a place to stay for self efficient, privacy and tranquility.

My partner, my mother-in-law & myself stayed for one night at Windamere Log Cabins and could not fault a single thing.
The cabins were well appointed and spotlessly clean, with fantastic views over the water and just a stones throw from "the rattling brook falls".
Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our visit - host Brian even took us down the road to watch the whales!
Thank you so much for making our brief stop absolutely fantastic. We will be back again in a couple of years and will ring ahead and book a week!

We loved these efficiency cabins. We had the front 2 bedroom one and it was everything we could have asked for. The outdoor wrap around porch gave us a beautiful view of the Inlet. Close proximity to the Rattling Brook Falls and to King's Court both of which are a must see. This place left such an impression on us that I am rating it long after we vacationed here. This was our favorite rental in Newfoundland.

I am not one to write a negative review on a local business. However, after sending a private message to voice my concerns about our recent stay here at Windamere cabins and receiving negative replies, I decided it was in the best interest of others to post my review and share my experience.
I have personally stayed here several times over past years with previous management and have only had positive experiences! However, this time around was much different. Apparently there is new management and it is poor. My family and I RESERVED 2 specific cabins at this location several weeks prior to our stay. (The reason we had booked these specific cabins was so our large families (with 6 children, aged 3 months to 7 years) could be close together - without having children walking on roads to see one another, to be able to pop in and out of one another cabins, and just to be close and spend quality time together).
Sadly, upon our arrival, the cabins we had specifically booked (and told were available), had been given to other occupants. As a result of this, our families were now separated and we were no longer in neighbouring cabins. Of course this was upsetting to us all and made our experience much more challenging, especially for the kids. Had we been notified of the change prior to our arrival, we could have rescheduled or cancelled - however we were not notified.
Furthermore, the cleanliness was poor. There was a large active red ant nest in the kitchen of the cabin I occupied, there were cobwebs on the walls of the bedroom we had stayed in, we pulled several dirty dishes from the cupboards, there were no sheets on the pullout bed, and some other minor issues as well.
I privately messaged the owners to express our concerns and share our experience, I was sent the reply “I’m sorry you didn’t get your way” and “you don’t own the cabins here. I do”. I really hope the owners can learn and grow from our negative experience. I think they have a beautiful location, however, the customer service, etiquette and management was very poor.

We had 3 couples with children, and were able to rent three cabins next to each other. They were clean and comfortable, and our hosts were very friendly and accommodating! The kitchen is fully equipped, and there are BBQ's outside, although there is an extra $5 charge for them. We had a beautiful view, and there is a trail to the top of the falls that starts just up behind the cabins - ask for directions before you go. Great spot to stay, there is no cell reception if you want to use your phone, but they do have free Wifi for guests.

We recently stayed at the cabins. The cabin is beautiful inside and out with a great view. Unfortunately once you are in the cabin it is on a sever lean which feels unnatural and makes it difficult to sleep because your bed is also on a lean. The towels were old and rough. My dog has a softer towel. If you like roughing it and do not need the comforts of home then this is perfect. It also lacks greatly in cooking pots and pans. I wasn't impressed. There is also no phone signals out there.

Found this in the Newfoundland Traveler's guide, nice little drive from Kings Point.
Deb our host was most inviting, after a little chatting we found out they were originally from our part of the country(Southwestern Ontario. Exeter area)Deb had actually worked with friends of ours,in nursing.
The cabins are well appointed with everything you may need,to prepare your own meals there is a fine resturant close by ,we didn't eat there but good reviews. We chose to get take out at the food truck/trailer,next to the resturant ,it was good but the wait time was way too long 15 to 20 minutes turned out to be 45-50 minutes
None of our accommodation has been pre booked ,and the cell service is not good here but Deb said to use her phone to call Twillingate for cabins, after many long distance calls were made, she refused to accept any money for use of her phone
If your in this area don't be afraid to book it .
Great place ,Great people!

Trip advisor review
First off; I wanted to state that I never do reviews, especially when it comes to giving negative feedback. Because I HATE to do that…but I will state my experience here and you can decide for yourself if you chose to book these accommodations.
Our family booked Windamere Cabins in Rattling Brook/King’s Point OVER one month ago for our family to vacation together and specifically requested for the top two cabins in the far corner and secured with C.C and was told we had them. The reasoning for absolutely having to have two cabins next to each other is because there are children (age range 7 down to 3 months) in both and we wanted to be close to help each other and enjoy adult time while our kids could sleep in the cabins and we could keep a close eye on them/ sit on neighbouring deck and chat while the kids slept)
Upon arrival, we were told that someone called and wanted to book OUR specific cabins for two weeks straight (as opposed to our two night booking) which fell over the same weekend which we had ALREADY reserved them for.
So for starters; It would have been nice to have been called and informed of this change in accommodations to at LEAST be given the OPPORTUNITY to book elsewhere- which we defiantly would have found another lodging as we needed to be next to one another (we ended up with the cabin (1) down below and my parents up top) but their approach (not informing us of this change) left us with no options and left them with money in their pocket instead of losing our booking.
I was under the impression that when someone booked something that it was booked. Unavailable. Regardless if someone wanted to come stay for two weeks or two days. It didn’t make us feel very appreciated or valued for renting out there establishment.
There was no where else to find last minute, we both drove almost 2 hours (with small children) to get there and it was our ‘vacation’ so we wanted to make the best of it 🤷🏼♀️).
We got to the cabins and it wasn’t what I would consider to be ‘clean’ there was so much dust in the crooks of the wood walls and on the entertainment center and the window screens and there were cobwebs all under the kitchen sink where the cookware was, there was only big table spoons in the spoon drawer. Dark damp mold/mildew in the corner of the bedroom. Empty/dirty sugar canister left in the cupboard.
I have allergies which the dust triggered, and animal allergies (cat) and we did not know all the cabins were pet friendly.
There wasn’t a baking sheet in the stove so we had to borrow from cabin to cabin numerous times which wouldn’t of been so bad if we didn’t have to trek up the hill all the time. When it came to bed time my husband and I decided to give the kids the beds and sleep on the pull out sofa, the mattress was original to the sofa (OLD) and was AWFUL (I know it’s a sofa bed but still this was un-sleepable. There were no sheets on the pull out and none to be found in the unit. We had to trek up the hill again after 12pm to take blankets from my parents bed just to ‘sleep’ on the sofa. If you laid one way you were tilted down sooo bad you felt upside down even with a pillow and if you flipped the other way you were sliding down towards the slanted end (if the sleeping conditions of the sofa are not useable it shouldn’t even be an option.)
We had a horrible experience.
We decided after one night we should leave because of the state we experienced so went to request our money back. Needless to say we left early without a refund.
We felt completely stuck. Out our money. And robbed of our vacation. With one of two options: 1) stay in a miserable environment and accommodations OR 2) Leave with no money and have to return home from our vacation early and have disappointment (especially for our kids).
We decided to teach our kids that no matter if you have $100 to offer someone or $1,000 —everyone should be given respect and equal opportunity to enjoy. Everyone’s time is precious, those two days meant the world to us- the same as if it was someone’s two weeks. And if someone has had something reserved isn’t that the point of reserving? So you get what you ask for? - So we left. My parents went one way (home) and we went the other - ruining our only time away together this summer.
I know Covid has made things hard on small local businesses and I get not wanting to turn away a two week stay - but fair is fair and we reserved for a reason. That’s the point. I do hope the owners learn from this experience and work on customer relations.

Nice location and comfortable. Two bedroom cottage style with all you need to make meals and relax. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is reasonably well stocked with cookery and utensils. Ideal for a family or 4 adults. Surrounding area is scenic.

We stayed here when in Kings Point/Rattling Brook to see the icebergs - and had an iceberg view from the cabin verandah! The cabins are great, comfortable beds, tucked up against the escarpment and looking out over the inlet.
