My boyfriend and I went back to my hometown of 20 years for my daughter’s bridal shower. I’d already reserved the room, and check in went smoothly. When we got to our room, which was supposed to be non-smoking, we noticed a strong smell of smoke. My bf is allergic so we were hesitant. We met family for dinner, and they could smell the scent on our clothes, so when we got back to the hotel, we asked for another room. The nice young man at the desk took me to a nicer room, and it was perfect. We will stay there again for the wedding. We will just need to make sure the room doesn’t smell like smoke. That was our only problem.
Location is key. Centrally located. Aldi’s next door. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker in room. Free breakfast completely stopped and pool not open. Call ahead if these items are deal breakers. Had we known ourselves we would have picked another hotel. The rooms are incredibly spacious. The beds are not firm nor are they too soft. Definitely springy. It’s apparent they are making upgrades slowly. This stay is comfortable and meets our needs. Do the comforters have a stain here and there yes. Were the towels clean? Yes. We have a non smoking room that smells like smoke. This may have been a room converted from smoking to non smoking. The smell is in the carpets and/or furniture. Walking distance to Chili’s, Panera, Steak ‘n Shake and other restaurants. Many other stores within walking distance. We commuted to Little League stadium only 15 minutes away. This hotel serves its purpose but it’s not as pristine as other hotels may be.…
The hotel itself is very nice, comfortable furnishings in their suites and the bed is comfortable as well. The TV is huge, probably a 55 to 60 inch if not more and has DirecTV. I just wish they would subscribe to more sports channels like MLB Network but that's a minor issue. The biggest issue is with communication among their staff. I am a Diamond Elite member. At 9:22 a.m. the housekeeper woke us up knocking on the door. Regular checkout is not until 11:00 a.m. When I made the reservation on the app I put in a special request to check out late. When we got to the hotel I asked the front desk agent about checking out late and she said okay I'll give you till noon. That was fine with me. At 11:26 a.m. the morning front desk agent called the room and asked if we were checking out or staying an extra day. When the phone rang I knew exactly what it was so I wasn't taken by surprise as it's happened before at other Choice properties and was prepared. I told her, "no we were approved for a late checkout at noon because I'm Diamond." She started to say something else and I cut her off and said we'll be out by noon don't worry. The issue is it's really annoying to arrange for a late checkout and then have zero communication between the night shift and the day shift to go along with housekeeping knocking on our door waking us up over an hour and a half before regular checkout, two and a half hours before our approved checkout time. Once the communication issues are fixed it will be a good stay for all and I would give it a higher rating than just average. Communication and customer service need to be fixed at this hotel, everything else is fine.…
We called before booking talked to the front desk. Asked if they had breakfast and was told yes from 6am to 9:30am. So we booked and get here and told no we don't have breakfast due to covid. The pool is a stagnant green cesspool. Only one ice machine for the whole place that works. The toilet keeps trying to clog up since we first got here. Looked in the room where the unworking ice machine is and there are 3 large clear garbage bags of Coors light cans. Seems someone had a big party here. Microwave in this room is nasty. Some serious fungus growing in there. Two or three other hotels right here on this short area. Try one of them first. Don't waste your time here. Checked their website and it is still showing a free breakfast in their list of amenities along with a pool and a gym. Gym?? Where? They won't let you past the front desk. Covid been going on a while now. If you no longer offer certain amenities take them off the websites. Drop the prices too.…
Room was so-so. I can not figure out why they do not separate guest better. We had a noisy heater and then noisy neighbors who let their small children cry late into the evening. Make hotel wings for families, elderly and workers (haha). They were not allowed to provide any type of breakfast because of the pandemic (unlike other hotels, maybe a Georgia thing).
