Saw this hotel from the road and decided to stop. It looked fairly decent and clean. When we checked in, there was some confusion about a $20 deposit that may or may not be charged on our credit card, and the staff couldn't explain exactly what this was for. The hotel seemed to cater to the Asian community, with all foreign newspapers in the lobby, but it was in a cool Asian neighborhood, with a great grocery store. The room was surprisingly clean and comfortable. I had no issues with it. When we went to turn in the key, we were told we had to wait for someone to go and inspect the room. We were shocked and were made to feel like we took something from the room, or maybe trashed it. There was another family waiting in the lobby for the same reason. They couldn't believe it either. It was demeaning and I've never has this happen before. It took about 20 minutes for them to tell us that the room was okay, and we could leave. Unbelievable. Had this not happened, I might have stayed there again, but no way will we go back now.

I was simply looking for a Hotel for a couple nights. What I found was quite substandard. This hotel is right off Interstate 85 so it is convenient. Otherwise, less than average amenities. The room smelled, the pillows were the lumpiest, and there was no hot water. Will not return.

A lot of local residence stay at the hotel. The quality of service is poor. Signs posted are not in proper English format. "No Drink Allowed" We were traveling to different states and spent one night there. We left a couple of nice shirts in the closet and realized it at the next hotel. We called and asked them to ship them back to us and we would pay the shipping. They never did. The hotel appears to have been a holiday in and the quality of the hotel is sliding down hill.

There was blood on the wall in just about every section of the room. The least I can say is we got refunded. We booked a room because it was the only hotel with a reasonable rate plus the twenty dollar deposit, which is the pettiest b/s everrr the rooms are semi clean , smoked in and in serious need of renovations. I mean you get what you pay for Damn! Our room had mold on the celing and the bathroom ceiling was almost caved in. Not to mention my husband found a condom wrapper in the tub drain that was the cause of us standing in water and showering. Smh, after getting put on the do not rent list for something stupid thar had nothing at all to do with us personally just the fact we had guest for not even ten minutes, just people nice enough to pick me up from being outside in the cold and just getting off work. I hope they stretched the good amount of rent they got from us. Thats not the worst part the elevator is at your own risk and probably as old as Georgia, The amnities and the gentelman that checked us in were probably the only reason they even have a one star. Im talking about the evening over night shift guy ( He Cool) It would have been great to get atleast half of what we spent staying there but business is businness....i guess i get that however thats not how you treat a guest who was paying daily and on time.
People this is a last resort hotel, and every bit of it is true story. The manager lady in the morning is rude and only wants your money. The other front workers are ok. I do know what im talking about. I work at the hilton downtown and this is not hospitality.

While I first considered myself lucky at finding these accommodations on such short notice at such an affordable price during a very busy Fourth of July weekend in Atlanta, I cannot begin to tell you how much grief my short stay there has caused me. After sleeping in the bed there, I woke up with two small bumps on my leg. I did not think anything of it at the time, but after travelling back home, I was bitten several more times. Basically, I have since figured out that Horizon Inn & Suites had beg bugs, and I transported them to my place when I unwittingly placed my luggage on the bed there. Taking back even a few bed bugs has now led to a full-on infestation at my home.

I now know more than I ever will about bed bugs and the difficulty in ridding them from beds, carpets and surrounding nooks and crevices, so I sympathize with management's dilemma. However, it is unacceptable to me that I was not forewarned about this by hotel staff. One night with a few bites is manageable, but unsuspectingly carrying them back with me has created a whole new host of problems--unacceptable.

This place is the worst hotel on this planet. I contacted Comcast cable because the Wi-Fi was out. This staff at the hotel lied to me. It turns out Comcast cable informed me that the hotel Will Wait months before paying their bill. Then pay a month or two for service and then let it run for 4 months sometimes six months without paying. Do not stay at this hotel. It cost a sub price for everything you do or request an extra towel is $5. Their continental breakfast is cold dinner rolls from Kroger Supermarket in coffee additives to your coffee sugar creamer are extra you pay for them. 1 new employee confided in me that when she was hired she was told to lie about the owner and the location of the owner lie about why the ice machines don't work lie about everything. When signing in if you leave garbage in your room IE; pizza boxes you're charged $5 for trash removal. Nearly every channel on the TV is in Korean or is a Korean Channel or Spanish including the news and there's no way on the remote to change it back. Horizon Inn and Suites is run by Jim Gould. 312 929 3158. After leaving him several messages he has yet to return my call. He is the franchise holder overall The Horizon Inns and Suites. So if you stayed at any of them and had trouble. Call him directly. Thank you for reading this and do be careful about staying at a Horizon Inn and Suites Hotel.

I had to stay here during the rebuild of my home after a fire. I was at work one evening and received a call from the front desk stating I needed to pay for my room. I said sure I will be there in the morning to resolve. I didn't feel this was a problem because I have did it before. At 6am in the morning a Korean woman comes pounding on my door telling me to go to the front desk. I get up after working 14 hrs and go to the front desk to be encountered by a RACIST front desk clerk ( woman wearing glasses with brown hair!). As I was preparing to pay my bills, she rudely mentioned how she was inconvenienced and made me feel as if I was some type of low life. I am a college educated woman with a career who was going through enough after losing my home to a fire so to be treated like a low life because I forgot to pay my bill after I had spent over 3000 dollars to stay there for myself and my family was DISGUSTING!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!...They are typical racist and do not care about you as a customer,,,I have contacted the Better Business Bureau as well as contacted several news stations regarding the treatment I recieved.

I had reserved 14 rooms and all were guaranteed with my american express card and the hotel also faxed me the confirmation on 6/12/2007 for the two weeks stay. However, the hotel management got greedy upon lerning that the hotel is going to be full due to an event in the area, they bump the comfirmed rate to $70.00 a night ultimately to drive me away. I have confirmation for your reference 40624-RM. I think this hotel should not be trusted at all. This type of mind sets can be dangerous to guest.

This hotel offers two types of rates for rooms - daily rate and weekly rate. Weekly rate starts at $300 including tax, so pretty cheap. Daily rate is $65 per day.

There's a catch though - the weekly room rates are little worse than the daily rate room.
Rest of the review is for the weekly rate rooms. Weekly rate includes a weekly room service.

The room:

It was good sized. They had flat panel TV with cable, but lot of the channels were analog and grainy. It has basic microwave and a small refrigerator. The appliances were old, but were in working condition. Bathtub had some creaks. The bed was hard to sleep.

The hotel:

The hotel scores a big plus for being safe. The neighborhood was not the greatest, but there were no dubious characters lurking around. The clientele were not professionals like extended stay america, but they were retirees and families. For such a cost effective option, couldn't ask for anything more. The hotel gets 4* just for that.

They have continental breakfast every morning. The hotel is right next to I-85, so that's a plus. They had reasonably fast wifi included in the rate, which is great. You can stream netflix and youtube. Better than some of the 3* hotels that charge for premium wifi.

The service:

One word - horrendous. Check-in was a mess. Took more than 30 minutes. TV remote didn't work, and they never replaced during my week of stay even though I called them several times!!!! Couple of lights didn't work, water didn't flow in the sink. I became best friends with the repair guy in my one week of stay.

All in all, it's good value for money. Be prepared for poor service and sub-par room, but a safe place to stay where you feel comfortable leaving your belongings for $300 in atlanta suburb is golden.
