Short stay, but great location. On beach, excellent price . Breakfast, snack voucher, bar voucher and bike included in stay price. Good pool. Good company. Lots of common space. Requested towels for several hours, no response. Bar was good. Food was great
We went June 2 for 3 nights. Everything was very clean and new (1 yr). Our room fit a king bed, which was very comfy, a fully equipped kitchen and we had no problem getting more coffee for day 2. The pool was big with plenty of chairs, a nice hot tub, and easy beach access. We rented beach chairs w /umbrella 1 day, but you can also just take a towel. We really liked the snack credit and the bar credit. We got water bottles bc ours ran out and I didnt want to drink the water. We thot brkfst buffet closed too early, 9am, and didn't like most of it. Next time we will eat in the resturant or go to town. We would definitely stay here again. We didn't use the bikes or the free shuttle or need the kitchen personally, so we might try the other half of the hotel next time. Getting towels was the only difficulty (room and pool), and I hesitate to even mention it bc all else was great. Oh, and we used our own beach wagon for a luggage cart at checkout.…
To be perfectly honest, I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at the Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott stay on Jekyll Island from Wednesday, May 11 to Friday, May 20. I wanted to share my wonderful visit and spotlight some of the amazing staff who worked so hard to make this a pleasant and unforgettable experience for us. From the moment we entered the hotel we had an unforgettable experience. Aaryo, who works at the hotel's front desk, was a consummate professional who went above and beyond to secure a beautiful room for us. He treated us like good friends. For the duration of our stay he was available to answer questions, help us secure anything we needed (extra towels and replacement items for our room) and before we checked out was patient and kind while reviewing the bill with us when we had questions. There were two women in our daily breakfast experience who went out of their way to make each morning something to look forward to. Krystal and Mary made our time at breakfast special from the very start. The first morning was my birthday, which of course I didn't want any fanfare about, but my wife had other plans. She had just met these two for the first time and when I wasn't in earshot casually said that it was my birthday. With that they immediately sprung into action and decorated a special birthday muffin surrounded by icing with the words Happy B-Day. They brought it to me singing 'Happy Birthday' and the rest of the guests eating in the area joined in singing! From that morning forward we had made friends with these two. They always went out of their way to talk to us and ask us if there was anything we needed. The difference between good and great customer service is the way Krystal and Mary took the time to get to know us, and start our days off with a smile. Henry was another great employee we frequently saw in and around the hotel. He was always polite, always helpful and always appeared to go the extra mile for the patrons of the hotel. We saw him working in several areas of the hotel and always seemed willing to assist wherever it was needed. On our last full day we spent time at the pool. Full bar service was being offered at the pool that afternoon, and Sandy made this a wonderful experience! She worked tirelessly bringing delicious frozen drinks to many of the guests at the pool area. Sandy suggested a pina colada with strawberry daiquiri shooter - which was delicious! Each time we spoke with Sandy at the pool or in the dining area she was pleasant to talk to very friendly. She was a joy to talk to! We can't wait to return to the island and we hope our next visit includes a stay at the Marriott hotel. Each part of the experience - the outstanding customer service, the bar staff, the pool area, the housekeeping staff - made a good experience GREAT! My wife and I felt like family and have the incredible staff to thank for our memorable stay.…
This was our first visit to the island and hotel. I have to say our stay was pneumonial at the Residence Inn. The hotel is paradise ! Hotel is brand new very clean beautiful views. A mini resort with all the bells and whistles. Dining, shuttle , Bar , restaurant, pool and beach. Everyone was so nice . Brenda at front desk was so sweet she upgraded us to a oceanfront room. I have to say that Mama, breakfast ladies, bartenders Chris, Olivia and Justice were so nice with serving us at bar. And Angelica Johnson at front desk when we checked out was very sweet young lady. I feel the entire staff including the Manager are doing a wonderful job running this hotel. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay so much nicer. We will definitely be back to stay again !!
Our first time on Jekyll Island and at this hotel. It seems strange that the building houses both the residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott. Our check-in was a little odd as we were told they were changing shifts and we'd have to wait until that was accomplished. We've never run into that before, and it was strange that for such a large hotel they only have one person on the front desk. I inquired about our usual upgrade and was given a studio ocean view which wasn't really an upgrade. The first room didn't work for us as there was hair on the bathroom floor as well as in the shower. When it was reported the manager, didn't get her name, moved us to an ocean front studio room. The way the room is laid out doesn't work well if you want to use a laptop as there are limited outlets and they aren't located near the counter or couch area. The first room had no outlet under the large counter separating the living room from the kitchen, but the second room did which made it easier to plug in. Neither room had shampoo or bathmat and we requested them from housekeeping They are in the process of installing dispensers in the shower but that isn't completed yet. Considering the fact, they have been open for almost a year I would expect that to be completed. The TV can't be turned to face the bed as is the usual setup if there aren't two TV's and the lights bedside shine directly down and can't be moved for reading. The overall building was great. Beautiful ocean views and grounds. The Residence Inn includes breakfast but due to Covid it consists of premade breakfast sandwiches, Make your own waffles and a few pastries for the most part. It was nice to be able to sit outside overlooking the pool and ocean for breakfast. We didn't use the pool, but the area looks great. Ther was a $20 resort fee, but it gave you a $10 credit at the Shore restaurant/bar and $10 credit in the small store.…
We absolutely loved this hotel! Spacious suites & the kitchen was very well stocked with cooking supplies & utensils. Lobby restaurant/bar was very good & complimentary breakfast has nice selection on prepackaged items. We fell in love with Jekyll Island & will definitely return to this hotel.
Terrible. My wonderful 1 bedroom suite was located next to the hospitality suite. This neighbor turned into a “club” all night. So, the hotel offered to move me at 9:30pm. I packed up my 2 and 8 year old daughter and moved to another room. The next room, looked at the roof deck and was a small cubby of a room. No other options. I chose to leave the next day. Worst beach trip EVER!!
great hotel, room was very clean and easy to access. staff was very very friendly and accommodating, pool area was clean and pool towels were available. Breakfast was adequate but nothing to book a room for, breakfast was just Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches microwaved and left in warming dish.
This Marriott property is lovely, clean, welcoming and has so many amenities. We found the staff to be very accommodating. Our room was clean and ready for us upon arrival. We enjoyed being right on the beach. What a nice spot! The breakfast was sufficient with a great staff. It was nice that they allowed use of the bikes and we went around the entire island on those bikes (about 20 miles). We took advantage of the hot tub and the corn hole game. The place has a resort-ish feel. We enjoyed our stay very much! A note about Jekyll Island in general, bring food to prepare in the room. Get that food before you hit the island. There are no grocery stores and the restaurant scene is marginal at best. Take advantage of the kitchenette and prepare a few meals. We ate at The Shore, on-property restaurant 3 nights and everything we had was quite good. We like to cook however and would have taken advantage of the kitchen had we known that grocery and food options were so limited on Jekyll Island. Another tip-do not speed. We saw people being pulled by police at the bridge every time we passed that way.…
We stayed here right after they opened around June 2021. I decided to leave a review after reading many negatives recently. We also plan to stay again in August 2022. I rarley leave reviews even though we are Marriott members and stay on property many times a year. Let's be clear. This is a Residence Inn. It's not The Rtiz Carlton.. The reviews should reflect such. The amenties at this hotel are wonderful. Not seen at most Residence Inn properties. It does have a more resort feel even though its really not. Some amenties they provide are more in line with a resort. The 20$ resort fee is totally transparent when booking though Marriott. You may not like it, however its no secert. Check-in- Our room was not ready at 230ish... There was a bit of a line and more than one person was checking in guests, I do think they need a different area for guests to ask questions, get bikes, things like this. It can get crowded. We were offered bottle water, which was a nice touch.. We checked in and since we had to wait......No problem we just sat at the lovely lobby bar had a few drinks. Room ready by 4. Service at the bar/resturant was consistently good throughout the stay. Room- We used suite upgrade nights and had an Oceanfront 1 bedroom suite. We had zero issues with the room. Clean, bed was comfy, view was amazing. Free Breakfest- So.....its just not our thing. I understand that is has good value and can save you money on your trip... We have never enjoyed free breakfest regardless of property.. Unless its cook to order. This one is standard fare.. I did like that you could make you own waffles. We didn't eat.. Just looked as we got coffee, which was very good. We went out to eat breakfest Pool and grounds The pool is great. Very large. Lots of chairs and loungers. Decent amount of umbrellas. I'm from FL, so there can never be enough shade for me... Also they provided pool side waiter service, which was awesome! Not something you see at a Residence Inn. It was consistently prompet thoughout the stay. You are not suppose to bring in your own coolers and such.. However we did, but bought items as well. Best of both worlds. They also have a few great seating areas on the lawn with umbrellas and a firepit. Yard games and such. Great for families. Of course you have the beach just a short walk away. Resturant- We thought the food was good. Is in 5 star dining no, but it is good. We also didn't find the food or drinks overly pricey. They are in line with the brand. You would pay much more staying at a higher end property. Overall we enjoyed our stay and recommend the hotel. The location, no parking fees, use bikes for 2 hours, and some food/store credits are a plus.…
