We loved the location. . Staffing issues, but a pleasant stay. Three days with no one to service our room. Warning..the AAA was denied even though it is shown on their website. Amazing sun rise. Walking on the beach,
I can’t say enough about our experience at the Ocean club. After having to cancel and reschedule, the ocean club was extremely accommodating. Everything from the service, food, facilities is top notch. Can’t wait to go back
This is a MUST place !! Saw turtles laying eggs The weather was perfect THAT BEACH !!!!!!!!! Great biking and walking trail The views from the balcony are amazing So much to do just walking around Take the horse and buggy ride and ask about the ghosts !!!
This was our first trip here but it definitely wont be our last. The hotel itself is breathtaking. The staff however, is what really brings it home. From the front desk to their onsite restaurant. High marks across the board. All the employees are so friendly and knowledgeable. Their management and director are top notch as well as their desire to please. This place is a gem!
The good: The restaurant on site, Eighty Ocean Kitchen and Bar, was excellent. The food was great, the menu had variety, and the service was fantastic. This hotel is right on the ocean, with direct access from the hotel, to the pool, to the beach. It's all just steps away. There are little shops and restaurants that are a five- to ten-minute walk north. Tortuga Jacks is about a 15-minute walk, but it has a fun/casual vibe with live music. The concierge was very helpful in getting some dinner arrangements booked. The bad: The front desk seems understaffed or unprepared, not sure which. They never seemed to have an answer related to anything with the hotel (particularly the shuttle that runs to the Jekyll Island Club). We accidentally left behind some articles of clothing, which the staff "couldn't locate", even though we told them the exact dresser drawer they were in. It was evident that the cleaning staff kept them for themselves, and shame on us for forgetting them. But disappointing for the money we paid. Bottom line: If you want beach-side accommodations, consider the Westin right next door. If you want the historical Jekyll experience, consider the Jekyll Island Club (not the Ocean Club). If you want incredible service throughout at 5-star prices, consider Sea Island, which is just up the road.…
