We are Marriott rewards members and have never had a problem with a Marriott property until we stayed in this Marriott. We were on the 4th floor and at 5:15 AM we were awakened by a rooster that crowed every 16 seconds. Trust me, it was loud-I sleep with ear plugs and it awakened me. When I mentioned it to the staff upon check out-they said they had had other patrons complain. I was shocked that they had not resolved this problem through the city/county. For many travelers a good night’s sleep is so important
You know when you arrive and the welcome is not welcoming it’s a 50/50 chance of a good experience. Lobby was ok hallway carpet was new and nice, then we open our room and it’s the kind you don’t want to sit anywhere or take shoes off. The bathroom was clean, only reason we stayed.
We stayed at this hotel for one night in Nov 21. Overall we found the hotel to be clean and in nice condition with friendly staff. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Free breakfast, however when we went down at 9:30 we found that the main items had already been removed leaving only sporadic grab and go items such as wrapped bagels, cereals, etc. Though it's not unique to this hotel it would be nice if hotels offering breakfast in general would leave all breakfast options available up until the posted checkout time. This would allow guests who rise later to take advantage of the same hotel perk that earlybirds are offered. The room above ours had extremely squeaky floors....the guests in that room could not take a step that we didn't know about. Hot water in shower could be a touch warmer. Small discrepancies that would not prevent us from staying here again.…
This was only our second visit to Gainesville, Georgia, where dear friends have lived for many years. The last time we stayed at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, because we had an adult child with us, but this time it was only my wife and I so we picked this hotel. The first impression was "well, this is OK", but then we found various items that should have been removed for cleaning Yikes!), but were not until we mentioned it to staff. So, until Marriott enforces standards for its managed properties, it would be wise to avoid this particular property.
Trina was so helpful! She made sure I knew all of the amenities and local offerings. The rooms are super nice and clean. My housekeeper left me a note. Towels are fluffy and soft. Gym was nicely equipped for a travel workout.
