My wife pointed several items in the room which needed attention: rusty tub in the bathroom, deteriorating wall surface near air conditioned, worn desk chair. Some patrons and their behavior (especially outside the hotel) made us uncomfortable. And, why only "light" roast coffee -- it was too weak to drink, I drove to the gas station and bought coffee.
As others have noted, this is a little bit older property, and there were a few cosmetic issues, e.g., a little peeling of wallpaper. But it was immaculately clean, the air-conditioning worked just fine, and the property was very quiet.
This hotel is always clean. Hotel staff has always been friendly and helpful. A good breakfast selection including hot items. Quiet in the evening. It is a good value on top of all of this. Because of the consistency of what I’ve mentioned, I stay here every week on business travel.
The rooms were comfortable and clean. Enjoyed the stay except the day of check out we felt rushed. House keeping knocked once, used key and entered our room at 9:30 with her child in tow. We told her we were leaving that day but not until it was time to check out. She came back and did the same thing 45 minutes later making us feel rushed.
We stayed here for 3 days & nights & explored different towns. Christmas market in Helen, Blairsville, Blue Ridge - very convenient to drive to these towns. The staff was great - kind, friendly & very accommodating! Our rooms & all areas were very clean & comfortable. Breakfast bar was great (delicious waffles) and plenty of food. Highly recommend this Hampton Inn in Cornelia!
