Checked in for the night and told front desk my sister would be stopping by for a little while. Got a call from the front desk threatening to call the law saying I had multiple people coming in and out. Had my sister leave to avoid the cops and went to heat up some leftover pizza before bed and THIS was in the microwave. Owners wife was rude and very disrespectful even after I explained that my sister was gone she still accused and cussed me saying I had people in my room.

We very happy with the hotel, it was easy to find, the room was clean and quiet, we could park right outside our door, the bed was a comfortable king size bed. The area had beautiful scenery, there were lots of places to dine, would have loved to have tried Oinker's BBQ but it's only open Thursday to Saturday. We visted Goats on the Roof, drove through the village of Tiger with it's mountain scenery, it even has a drive in theater. We enjoyed our trip to Clayton very much.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again. It is on old-fashioned place. When you check in you got an actual key and not a key card. The rooms were all ground level and you parked directly in front of your room door. Our room was nice and clean. It came with a microwave and fridge, clean bathroom and thermostat you can control. The only reason its not higher stars is it lacks a lot of the modern amenities you get nowadays--no pool, no breakfast, no gym. But for the price I don't expect those sorts of things. If you are the type who is going to demand a new room because of some chipped paint--then this place is not for you. If you are looking for an affordable place to sleep in a safe area, I would highly recommend.

I stayed here for 4 nights during Hurricane Florence. I was looking for a low cost place since it was unexpected trip. Even though it has a low rating, I thought it was cute, comfy and clean. Plus it is in a great location. I would definitely stay here again for a budget frienly mountain get away.

Not a single upgrade to a motel most likely built in the 60s. The Smell of pinesol was so strong I had to open a window to our room. Unfortunately there are no screens on the windows and no sheer curtains so when you open a curtain the world sees everything! Oh it's right off the main drag and the windows are the originals so you hear all of the traffic! My college dorm was better than this place. They say you get what you pay for bit this is worse!
