It looks like this hotel’s 4/5 overall rating is from an earlier time when the hotel was very different. It’s definitely not being kept up anymore, and surfaces all over our room were filthy. When we stayed (in May 2022), the roof over the carport was missing and we arrived in the rain, so we got wet bringing our bags in. The elevator doesn’t work going down, so you have to call the front desk to have them send it up if you ever need to not take the stairs. While these would be understandable maintenance issues if the hotel were working on them, reading older reviews once we were already there made it clear these problems have been around for years and the hotel isn’t doing anything about them. The room itself was the kind that looks nice on the surface but has a gross feeling underneath—places where it clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, including the bathroom counter that had a dirty film on it. Taking a wet wipe across that and the room’s desk left it dark with dirt, which made me wonder how much else was just as gross. The couch in our suite was so dark with stains from use over the years we couldn’t sit on it. The door lock had clearly been broken and affixed back on in a way that felt sketchy and unsafe. The room was competitively priced, and I hated to spend more because we just needed somewhere to sleep and were there for just 12 hours, but I wouldn’t choose it again.…
Great time ! Overnight stay for my vacation on my way home ! Service was good ! And as well beds were comfy ! Water pressure was good! Parking was a issue at this place some of these hotels that are on route with big highways and travelers need better parking ! Trailers especially! But overall okay place they were also remodeling as well!
This is a decent hotel. We've stayed here before we go to Jekyll Island. Its easy access off I 95. Never any bad issues during our stays there in the past. Zachry's Restaurant is a good choice if you're looking for a nice dinner spot. It's okay for 1 night.
This is a very nice property with, at least for me, a very nice receptionist. The room is good, the decor is good and the bed is decent. But if you think you're getting a nice, hot shower, you've got another thing coming. I suppose the management is attempting to "Save The Planet!" on my behalf by using a super low-flow showerhead. Or it could be they're just saving money. I suspect the latter, but you be the judge. Imagine that instead of hot water jetting from a showerhead, instead it just kinda drizzles out, and it's not very hot. Go stand in the fog on a damp summer's morning and it's about that. I'm going to go get some coffee and maybe add something stronger to improve my ruined mood. Good day now.
We have been coming here for several years-stopping on our way back and forth to Florida in the spring and fall. This hotel has been progressively deteriorating in maintenance. Two years ago the canopy over the drive way available for check in has been down. Nothing to protect you from the rain when loading and unloading. No sign of it ever being replaced. The tub drains are rusty and the corners in the bathrooms are dirty and cracked. This visit the door frame is filthy and covered in some sticky substance. The ice machine was broken on our trip up a month ago and when we returned today, it is still broken. Apparently the General Managers don’t find these things important enough to fix for their guests. We have decided to find a new chain to frequent when traveling from now on even though we have been Choice Privileges members for many years. On the plus side-at least this time the check in clerk was friendly and concerned. Others have been less than attentive.…
Dark and run down. The rooms were dingy and a bit dusty. There was absolutely no hospitality. Most of the choice hotels are using covid to excuse the fact that they don't have their breakfast, but at least have a few snacks and some coffee and juice. There was none of that at this hotel nor was there any type of hospitality whatsoever.
Wife is on oxygen. Elevator not working. Said we had to take a 4th floor room. Offered to cancel room after arrival. Did not receive a call in advance. Not sure how they can stay open without elevator for weeks. Had to book last minute room at another hotel.
Website shows free hot breakfast but there was none. Carry and go was provided though. Construction was ongoing but no mention of it in their website. The Choice Hotel rep obviously had no knowledge of it. The front desk person said that's what we get for using 3rd party reservation. Hmmm...so reserving through Choice Hotel is considered 3rd party. I would think since you are in a corporate group, head office needs to know what's going on with this hotel. Sofa bed didn't have a pillow so we had to ask for one...carried by front desk man with no gloves whatsoever. Oh, by the way, elevator was not working so yes we had to climb the stairs to the 3rd floor. They did call the day of our check in but it was too late to cancel
Totally agree with previous reviewers that call the hotel tired and not up to Comfort Suites standards. Other than lobby that is currently being redone, it appears that nothing has been done to update. Only plus is that hotel is clean. Rugs are old, mattress was firm but budget as are cheap chopped-foam pillows. Light bulbs missing from fixtures, towel hook missing from bathroom door (screw still there), rusty hinges on door. Website states that employees are masked but neither cleaning staff or front desk wore masks. Would not recommend.
This is a clean hotel which is very important. But still serving bag breakfast which seems lazy especially in Georgia. Room is very dark - there on a rainy day so extra dark. Staff very nice. Hotel is dated.
