What a jewel of a place. Mary Joe and Bob were the perfect hosts, very welcoming and thoughtful. From the front porch to the main living and breakfast area, everything was cozy and inviting. Beautiful stained glass windows everywhere, lovely touches of folk art and collectibles in every corner. Our family had three of the upstairs rooms, each with its own private porch equipped with binoculars and extra blankets and quilts. The linens were luxurious. When we sat at breakfast we were pleasantly presented with a delicious crime brûlée French toast with bacon, which we couldn't quite finish, and fresh fruit. We highly recommend this top quality inn.
Hosts Mary Jo and Bob were great. They made us feel at home from the minute we walked in the door. Our room was clean and more than comfortable. The food was delicious. the other guests were friendly, and the conversation at the breakfast table was both interesting and enlightening. We had the pleasure of meeting couples from Pennsylvania, Florida, and Tennessee, and though we met as strangers, we left as "friends". What a great experience!!!!
What a wonderful surprize!! Mary Jo and Bob have done everything possible to make you feel not only pampered, but at home. This B&B, an easy drive from town, is still secluded enough for wonderful vistas and quiet sounds of nature. The wrap-around porch showed off the wonderful landscaping of the property. The many hummingbirds were an extra bonus! Our room and ensuite bath was huge and spotless. Without being intrusive,Bob and Mary Jo were always available for questions -they seemed to sense how much time you wanted to spend talking with them. The keeping room had several seating areas for reading, game playing or TV watching. The cookie jar was filled with homemade cookies and snacks and drinks of all types were always at hand. We had a fantastic 2 nights at Aska Lodge. Bob and Mary Jo are perfect hosts who make you feel welcome and comfortable in their home. They have thought of everything. I particularly liked things like the binoculars and bird spotting books on our balcony. Wildlife is abundant and colourful, particularly the hummingbirds which are fantastic to watch. Our room was the Jean Katherine which has a fantastic balcony. We would book it again but all of the rooms look good if that one is not available. Breakfast was excellent both mornings with an unusual and delicious menu. The large table was shared by all of the guests and we really enjoyed the relaxed conversation. If you are looking to stay in this area do not hesitate about booking here; you will enjoy it tremendously.
Surrounded by the nature, the Aska lodge is the perfect place to go if you want to relax and you like outdoor activities. The lodge is simple and well maintained. The owners, Mary Jo and Bob are very nice and will help you find the perfect activities to do in the area. Highly recommended. Alfredo and Barbara
