My family and I just spent six nights at Ocean Pointe. It is a beautiful resort and we had a wonderful time. The staff is very friendly and the property is very well maintained. My husband and I were in a one bedroom villa in the Dolphin building which is close to the main pool and the on site restaurant On The Rocks. Our bed was so comfortable and the villa had everything we needed. I wish we could have spent more time enjoying being in it but we spent most of the day at the pool and the beach and going out to dinner. I have noticed some people complaining about housekeeping but they need to understand that this is a vacation club property which doesn't provide daily housekeeping. They do provide you with a text number that you can use to swap out towels for fresh ones and to request other things such as more soap, etc. My sister was there with three boys and they swapped out towels daily with no issue. So just something to be aware of if this is your first time going to this resort. We travel to Ocean Pointe every other year and always look forward to returning!
Regarding food - the villas come with kitchen facilities so you can shop at Publix and prepare food in your villa if you like (although the studios have less amenities for that). You can also order takeout. On site dining is limited and is basically burgers and bar food but the resort is within walking distance to Sailfish which is a lovely restaurant. Or you can walk to the plaza down the road where there are several dining options but those restaurants are very casual and are not really my favorites. Other nicer restaurants require a drive.
The main pool is always crowded and there is usually a lot going on. They do have servers walking around if you want to order food and drinks from your lounge chair or you can go and order directly from the bar. The beach is beautiful but Marriott does not own it so you do have to pay to get chairs and an umbrella (about $60/day) but the guys working there are great and come around and adjust your umbrella throughout the day. I also noticed a lot of people bringing their own chairs, etc.
Overall this is a great resort, especially for families.

This Marriott is a vacation resort with several activities for children, according to a schedule. There is also Aqua gym in the morning. The rooms, tastefully renovated, have balconies and sea views and make you sleep to the sound of the sea waves in front.
The rooms have kitchenettes. If you don’t plan a meal, there is a restaurant where you can order American meals (burgers, pizzas) from your room that you pick up (take out) at the indicated time and that you can eat on your balcony in front of the sea. There is a small convenience store that troubleshoots for breakfast with $4 muffins for example. The swimming pools are giant; one for the children, who scream of course and one for making lengths. There are very busy spa pools. The environment is beautiful, but busy and noisy because it is very family friendly. Sunbeds on the beaches are rented, overpriced. The beach is beautiful though. Parking is easy, directly under the building. In short, it is a beautiful place but very family friendly. I am therefore ambivalent to recommend it because I like quiet places.

Gorgeous resort with plenty of activities for the family. We spent the 4th of July Holiday there and even though the resort was packed on the weekend, we still were able to find lounges by the pool and enjoy the daily activities. Our 2 bedroom villa was on the 5th floor of the Dolphin Building (Oceanside) with great views of the ocean and we were able to have “front row” views of the fireworks from the Centennial Fountain from our balconies. Plenty of room and parking on weekdays. The resort is family friendly with an Activities Center for the little ones, mini golf, splash pad, etc. Food and drinks at the “On the Rocks Pool Bar” were great and reasonable prices (compared to area restaurants). I love the fact that you can just text the front desk and ask for anything (towels, soap, etc) and they will deliver in 30 minutes or less. This was our second time at the resort and will definitely not be the last Thank you for a wonderful summer vacation!!.

Driven by good reviews and the great price compared to other hotels in the area we booked 4 nights in this Marriott sea view, for us and our children. Total disappointment: we book a room with king size bed and sofa bed, we arrive late in the evening and, surprised, the sofa bed is not open or ready, so we have to arrange it ourselves, blankets, pillows and sheets (DIRTY) in the closet ; for the rest the room very 90s, not at all inviting; the worst part is just room service and cleaning. In 5 days (4 Nights) we have NEVER made the beds, and we only changed the towels once, not to mention the cleanliness of the floors and carpet... a shame, I wonder why a MARRIOTT could be reduced to these levels... however on the second morning we also pointed out at the reception that no one had passed in the room; apparently it did not help anything; also the room was communicating with other guests, you could practically hear everything, television, sneezing etc... Another negative note, the air conditioning system: painful, every time it turned on to reset the temperature seemed to be on a plane taking off, resulting in poor sleep quality. Otherwise the hotel is immense, maybe even too much. We did not use anything, swimming pools, sea or otherwise, genuinely little enticed by the already painful presentation of the room and cleanliness. I put 2 balls just for the price, I repeat, cheaper but if this is the result Recommendation to invest something more and for the constant presence of the Staff h24.

The service level of this overpriced motel is abhorrent. Housekeeping requests add either ignored or delivered more than 3 hours later. Pool towels are only provided in the room and not replenished in a timely manner. Housekeeping will deliver them 3 hours later. There is absolutely nothing nice about the room or the amenities. The staff could care less about the guests. There are plenty of better properties in the area, and I would never stay here. If you care about cleanliness and housekeeping, don’t come here. This place is absolute trash.

Marriott's Ocean Pointe’s high prices and mediocre level of service, dated rooms and facilities are a true disappointment this time. We stayed in the Sailfish building (3/2024) although we booked several weeks in advance and requested the Cobia or Dolphin. The view from the 4th floor for what they consider “partial ocean view” was a joke and we were basically looking down on the parking lot below. We asked for a different room and they said they didn’t have anything else. We were there early before check-in time and said we could wait for a room so I find it hard to believe that they didn’t have anything and that nothing would become available later that day. There is also a shortage of lounge chairs and unless you’re up before 7am or so, you’re usually out of luck. When you do get up early to save a lounge chair or two, you’re forced to sit on it and guard it with your life, otherwise the “helpful” staff will go around and collect your towels and personal belonging and place them in the “lost and found” only for you to later have to waste time calling them and retrieving your things. This is very frustrating and annoying. For a family of 4, I think it’s reasonable to expect to able to find and use at least 2 lounge chairs without having to sit by the pool from 7am all day and not being able to step away for an hour or two to have lunch in fear of losing your spot and having your items placed in the lost and found. Ridiculous. There are pretty nice grills on the property but the area where they are located has no lighting whatsoever so you have to grill in the dark if you’re making dinner around 7:30pm or later or you have to come prepared with your own flashlight. I think this is also ridiculous. The sprinklers around the grill area and tables turn on very early between 8-9pm (I think) and they are misdirected and will soak you and your things if you happen to be eating at one of the tables near the grills. One would think that they would have enough common sense to turn the sprinklers on much later (after 11pm) when people are sleeping and not eating dinner. They should have the skill to point the sprinkler heads towards the landscaping and not towards the sidewalks, tables, and grills. The rooms are very dated and bathrooms have square tiles with a checker pattern as was popular 30+ years ago. The sand volleyball court lacks maintenance and the layer of sand over the rocks underneath is thin resulting in daily injuries such as scarped knees. The net is loose and the crank doesn’t work properly to be able to adjust it. The mini fridge was not on when we checked in and we had groceries to put in which warmed up before the fridge and freezer reached the correct temp. Overall, I think we are done with this Marriott and cannot recommend it as a good value with good amenities.

We stay at Marriott Vacation Villas several times each year. The Ocean Pointe unit was great except I’ve never experienced a site that doesn’t change sheets, towels or clean anything unless you stay 10 days! That’s way too long when a family is staying in a unit. I was told it would be an additional $160 to have them clean and change beds. They will send additional towels but you end up with a pile of dirty ones until you leave.
Also the food at this timeshare is not great and pool is only serviced by 1 waitress who never seems to be able to get to everyone. We gave up on eating there. Definitely glad we rented a car.
Beware of high cost to rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach!
Not the Marriott standard I am used to.

Flight delayed, check-in was at 2 AM. We chose the hotel because it's supposed to be on the beach, it is not on the beach. It is close to the beach. They do not have beach services at this "resort". If you're expecting Marriott services, this is not really a Marriott. They do not treat you the same way as Marriott. I had a delayed flight and lost luggage so I got in very late. The gentleman who seemed nice said that he would do a late check out. Little did I know with the knocking at the door at 9 AM That he put no notes in the system. So on five hours of sleep, I get awoken to the maid asking if I needed paper towels. I realized I forgot to put the do not disturb on the door knob. I put the do not disturb on the door and went back to bed 30 minutes later, she comes back to the door with the do not disturb on, asking me what time am I leaving. I proceeded to call front desk, wondering why I am being harassed by housekeeping and she tells me they did not put a late check out in the notes. And then tells me that checkouts at 10 AM. And they don't do late checkouts. Realizing I was upset and literally had six hours at this way overpriced, no food supposed resort that I could stay till noon. She defended housekeeping knocking on my door multiple times. It wasn't until I got elevated that. She finally realized I wasn't gonna back down. This is not a customer service oriented resort. And it certainly isn't a true Marriott. I gave it a two star because the first floor room was a astonishingly quiet. This is an old rundown poorly maintained Resort. It does not hold a candle to where we stay in JW Marriott (a real Marriott) in Cabo. And it's way overpriced. It really needs to be labeled a retirement community.

Do not stay here! No shuttle so you will have to walk or Uber anywhere. Absolutely no housekeeping! We went almost 3 days with no towels, or linen change. Had to practically beg for towels! Leftover food and trash starting to smell in our room and we were told that if they threw out our trash for us, we would be charged extra. Every day we were charged for parking when we explicitly stated we had no car. Again - do not stay here unless you want a terrible vacation!

What a sad disappointment. Our costly oceanside view is a ruse. We are first floor looking out at a parking lot. Marriott unwilling to do anything as they said technically the property is on the ocean side. The staff has heard this coming before and management unwilling to do a thing about it. We are also place on the furthest point of the property, which is about 1/4 mile from main pool and activities with another property that blocks the path to the main facility. Property photos posted online are select images from not the majority of rooms. Booo. Highly recommend against this if you are unwilling to be placed in a motel-like setting for premium price.
We used Vacation Candy. Scammers.
Other issues: WiFi constantly went out, which made it difficult to work. Kids had to go through dark garage to get to pool Many key card scanners for doors didn’t work Dredging will go on outside of beach property for extended time Chairs and umbrellas on beach property are all private run (not Marriott) and about $60/day Outlets in room had about 25% working and if you turned off wrong light switch it powered off No room service but oddly, cleaners continuously opened our door throughout the day Pool towels available 50 yards away in locked laundry room Workers more than happy to take the main elevators with cleaning carts and let guests hang tight Daily cleanup left piles of garbage outside elevator doors like it was NY city Phones to main desk don’t work in room There are carts to bring up luggage and groceries, but no information on where they are hidden near trash dumpsters
Be better Marriott.

We personally didn’t have alcohol, but saw many with beer/red solo cup drinks. There’s a bar right next to the pool so I don’t think it’s an issue. We did have food/drinks around the pool just never in the water and never had a problem.
