The Colony Hotel captivates guests with its Palm Beach charm and vibrant decor, earning accolades for its spotless rooms and commendable housekeeping. Its prime location is a hit among travelers, who love the proximity to the beach and attractions. Stay here for a night if you want to be a block off Worth Avenue. But that's it. I wasn't too thrilled with this place. The welcome at the hotel was lukewarm but you can chalk that up to one somewhat surly person at the front desk. A bigger problem was that I arrived at my suite 301 (a superior suite) and the room was pitch black and the hallway light was broken inside the suite and there were no ceiling fixtures, so I was fumbling around looking for a lamp to turn on. After a day of travel and work, there were no treats to welcome me, just two bottles of water. I went down to the pool and was told it was after dusk and therefore closed. That was a bummer because I chose this hotel over the Brazilian Court because it had a pool. There is no gym onsite; the gym you can use a few blocks away closes at 7pm. This place is just dead at night in terms of facilities.
I get this text from their virtual concierge telling me how thrilled the hotel was to have me as their guest, and I mentioned that I didn't feel very welcome here at a suite costing me $1,500 a night and the person replied that I should order food from room service. I suggested they might send a treat to my room, and they later did send a bottle of prosecco (but meanwhile nothing to eat, except that some bedtime pastry snack did show up).
I wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant for dinner, but the only fish item was fish and chips, so i wound up at Cafe Boulud. I ate downstairs for breakfast which was fine.
The hotel has nice bicycles that ride really well, and the Palm Beach Fitness gym is fine for a morning workout. It has everything you need; I was surprised that at 58 I was the youngest person in the gym. Usually, I'm one of the oldest.
A pain point in this suite is that the bathroom in the living room is the one with the shower and it's so small that the door is open halfway against your body when you try to stand in front of the sink. I was hoping for a suite that was not so tight. I did like that the shower controls were opposite the showerhead, so you didn't have to get cold water all over you to turn on the shower.
The hotel offers a courtesy car which will take you to the Breakers, which is where I transferred to the next day for the weekend. I had a much a better time there and felt i was treated much better there. For roughly the same money, you get much more facilities at the Breakers and if you have Amex Platinum, you get the amenities. At the Colony, I had to pay $43 for a bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon and some avocado. I could have had the whole buffet at the Breakers for nothing.
There are lots of new hotels being built in Palm Beach. This hotel is not great value for money; the least they could do here is to do more to show their guests that they appreciate their business.

Pink Paradise! What a wonderful experience. The Colony doesn't miss a detail - from the check-in, to greeting package, to every aspect of the stay, and, finally (and unfortunately), check out. We can't wait to get back to this beautiful boutique hotel.

We recently stayed at The Colony for our annual Mother/Daughter weekend vacation. We usually stay at The Breakers when in West Palm but chose The Colony for this trip. We love the location, the vibrant decor and the more intimate experience provided by a smaller hotel. We stayed in the Goop/Hibiscus Villa which was heavenly and accommodated all five of us comfortably. The Villas have their own private pool which is ideal to escape to when the main pool gets busy in the afternoon. We enjoyed a grab and go breakfast from the Cafe and then used The Colony's beach bicycles for a morning cycle around the island. Swifty's lived up to its impeccable reputation in service, food and cocktails. We also found the the car service very convenient- complementary transportation anywhere on the island. The beach is a short walk away from the hotel- the hotel has a golf cart service to take you there, but it was not charged when we needed it. Be sure to make reservations for the beach service (beach chairs/towels/umbrellas/pink yeti cooler) and confirm the morning of your beach day. We made reservations in advance of arriving, but the beach attendant apparently did not get the message, so we had a bit of a wait. We ordered lunch from Buccan and had it delivered to us on the beach- best sandwiches in the area! Looking forward to a return trip!

A beautiful location but lacks adequate customer service. The 5-6 employees standing around the front door were too busy chatting with one another to notice they should be opening the doors to help my family in. We were trying to check in and no one led us to check in or anything which was very confusing as the lobby seemed very busy and unorganized. We had to ask for the pool to restock towels and waters repeatedly which took a lengthy amount of time and once they even forgot. The worst part of our whole stay was when they provided us with a broken crib which collapsed in the middle of the night with my baby in it. Luckily she was unharmed but when I brought it up to staff they acted like it was no big deal and hardly provided me with an apology. There was no follow up from any of the staff regarding this incident either. All of this to say I would not suggest this hotel if you’re big on proper service or if you’re traveling with your family. They are extremely unaccommodating to families. The best customer service we received was from the man delivering our room service to us. The only friendly and helpful individual we met from The Colony. After all of that, my daughters wanted to go back this year so we considered a quick stay in between our other stays on the island. However it was impossible to get any response or answers from anyone within the reservations department (we need to coordinate connecting rooms or villas/suites to fit our family). My emails went unanswered from both Jeanine and Sally. They wouldn’t provide me with another contact when requested. When we tried to call we were transferred to reservations and no one answered there either. Very disappointing and frustrating experience. We are in Palm Beach often and would have loved to make The Colony one of the places that we frequent, however we will definitely be taking our business elsewhere.

Dear Emily C., I want to express my sincerest apologies for the disappointing experience you encountered during your recent stay last year in March 2024 at The Colony Hotel. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us. I personally was not here last year in March, however what I can share with you is that; we have rated #2 in Travel & Leisure in Florida, #1 in Conde Nast in Florida, The Conde Nast Gold list top ten in the United States and the won the Readers Choice Awards three years in a row consecutively. The housekeeping incident is scary for any parent and I can assure you that would never happen again to any other guest. I apologize if our valet and pool attendants did not provide the attention your family needed. I do hope that the complimentary upgrade from a junior suite to our most treasured and sought after Villa Gardenia may have compensated for some frustration. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience we caused. We hope you find your next home on the island less stressful.

We stayed at the Four Seasons last year, and had planned to make it our home in Palm Beach. However, traveling with a four month old this year, we decided to try The Colony as the location would allow us to stroll the baby everywhere we wanted to go.
They were sold out of the suites so we took two premium double rooms. At first glance we were disappointed with the tiny bathroom and no coffee/tea in the room. We looked at each other and wished we had booked The Four Seasons…
However, after a week at The Colony, we will never stay anywhere else in Palm Beach.
The location is perfection. We walked with the baby to the beach, shopping, dinners.
Lunch by the pool was a highlight.
For our evening tea, they brought up a beautiful tray of hot water, lemons and honey.
The service at The Colony is top notch.
What will bring us back to The Colony every year is the amazing staff.
Ashton at the front desk, we adore you. Thank you for taking such good care of us!
Chris at the pool, we can’t wait to talk more with you. What a treasure you are!
And Courtney at the Paradise Café, thank you for making our mornings so special! We can’t wait to see you next year!
If you want the real Palm Beach experience, stay at The Colony.
See you all next year!

This review is especially for Mariana, who made our stay so comfortable and worth. She was the one who always asked us about our stay and recommended us what to do or not. She also made us familier with places around and helped us book the tours, which was so perfect. Her smile and kindness and hospitality over our stay will always be remembered. She is a gem for colony hotel and she made our five nights at hotel just perfect and so comfortable. The hotel itself is at Ocean drive, which is beautiful and close to Beach and we booked Ocean Front view with room number 300. It was so Amazing to see sunrise everyday with Ocean view. The hotel has a restaurant Montana, which offers 20% discounts and have very good food. We enjoyed our stay and have already recommended to family and friends. Its so worth staying at this wonderful place, and make sure to talk to Mariana for recommendations. She is so honest and kind. We owe our Thanks to her for making our stay worth at hotel.
Thanks Mariana and hope to see you in future.

Two couples of us just stayed at The Colony Hotel for four nights, thoroughly enjoyed it, and would highly recommend it! It is a beautiful boutique hotel in the main area of Palm Beach, within easy walking distance of the beach, great shopping and restaurants, and some of the interesting sites showing the rich history of Palm Beach

The on-site restaurants are extremely good, and the rooms were well updated for being an older property. The decor is unique and beautiful.

However, the friendliness of the especially accommodating staff is what sets The Colony Hotel apart. From the maids to the manager, everyone had a smile and a greeting whenever we encountered them. They were happy to run us around in the courtesy vehicles, or print some documents for us that we unexpectedly needed. A special nod to Tiffany at the front desk and Andrew on the bell/valet staff, but everyone was wonderful. They really brightened our visit.

We hope to return to The Colony Hotel one day. It is a special place!

We were intrigued when we learned about the Colony Hotel when we visited their pop-up display in Southampton NY last summer. It was so inviting and well appointed that we had to book a trip. From the moment we arrived the property, the people, the vibe, along with the weather far exceeded our expectations. I would say the location was an 11 on a ten scale since it's right off Worth Avenue for shopping and fabulous restaurants and just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean beach (and they literally take you their and set you up with everything you need for a day at the beach). We loved the décor of the hotel and the rooms, the restaurant was fantastic, along with the pool, live music, and other activities that they arrange for their guests. We will be going back and it's just a matter of how often!

Just returned home from the weekend at The Colony, and it quickly has become one of my favorite hotels. Every single staff member I encountered, from the front desk to valet to pool staff to cleaning staff, went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating for our stay. This is going to sound like I work here or something. I do not. I have never even stayed on Palm Beach proper before this. The staff will know who I am when I state that I was staying here with my wife and 2 daughters from Philly to visit my son who attends Palm Beach Atlantic right across the inter coastal waterway. We stayed in room # 335. Crazy room in a good way but great traveling with 2 teen daughters. It was a normal room with an optional lock off that had a separate living room and a SECOND bathroom for a small additional fee. Worth every dollar. Room was clean. Water pressure was very good and hot water was as hot as you would want. Housekeeping kept things up. Made beds. Nightly turn down etc. Photos of the property do NOT do it justice. Cozy, whimsical south Florida feel you would want. The property was staffed above and beyond what you would expect. Everyone no matter if they had a pink golf shirt or a managerial suit were not too above doing anything you would ask. There is a golf cart service we used daily to shuttle us and chairs and umbrellas to the beach...(FREE) yes free. no daily charge for the chairs or umbrellas. And keep in mind everyone no matter what they were doing for you or who they were seemed truly honored to help you. This staff clearly has been trained with a tone of service that trickles all the way down to the housekeeping staff. No doubt we will be returning frequently.

There are a couple parking lots within walking distance however they are not all that convenient, no do I think you save much in dollars. As for the valet they are fantastic, I assume they can handle non-automatic shifts and have seems plenty of exotic cars in their portco.

You can sit in or outside around the pool. It’s a very classy setting with low lights, good food and service. Depending on the night they may have music.
