We weighed our decision carefully on whether or not we would travel for pleasure during a pandemic. After traveling many times for business or out of necessity and feeling very safe at hotels with all the extra precautions the hotels are taking. Well Disney has the lowest rating for safety in my opinion for guest and staff safety. They enter the rooms daily (completely unannounced) and move about your room while touching things, in some cases with no mask or gloves (we witnessed this). They call it a daily mandatory safety check after giving ten false reasons for entering room when questioned. We asked to not have people in our room during covid and were told that it is mandatory. It is a complete compromise of my family’s safety. So in my opinion, save your money and stay off property where the hotels are following all the CDC’s health and safety regulations. The park on the other hand I will give an A+ for safety and cleanliness. So Disney needs to take a hint from the CDC and other hotels before they cause damage, deaths or get themselves shut down.…
So during the pandemic with most hotels going out of there way to not go into your room after check in Disney is going the opposite direction. They inter your room daily to supposedly empty trash and check the room for issues. This service cannot be refused. They want to come into your room daily whether you wish it or not. We know this stems from the Las Vegas incident a few year back so basically every family staying on property is considered a potential terrorist and rooms must checked daily by the housekeeping staff that must also had had classes in counter terrorism to make nothing improper is going on. That being said during a pandemic I have a real problem with someone entering my room daily without my knowledge for whatever reason. Basically contaminating my clean space. At the parks Disney is doing a great job. At he resorts I feel not so. Your chance of catching CoVid in your Disney resort hotel is far greater than at the park. If I return I will stay off property.…
Boulder Ridge is a brilliant rendition and representation of National Park lodges and natural scenic areas in the western United States. As local Pacific North Westerner, my family felt right at home! Take a walk around the resort to see if you can spy the geyser, buffalo topiary, and mining themed swimming pools. Great gluten free food options can be found at the resort restaurants. The resort is taking many helpful precautions to keep guests safe during Covid 19. Boats can be taken from the resort to the Magic a Kingdom!
Breathtaking, peaceful, relaxing are the words to explain how amazing our stay at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disneyworld's Wilderness Lodge felt to us. We decided to take a last minute trip grabbing an amazing discount. We have stayed at many of the Disneyworld resorts from All Stars to the Grand Floridian. This was our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge. We have visited the resort for dinning at the Whyspering Canyon and Artist Point always making a stop during Christmas to see it's holiday decorations. From the moment we checked in each and every Cast Member was welcoming. Very courteous with explaining all the safety measures and answering any questions. We enjoyed an amazing lunch at Geyser Point waiting for our room to be ready. We were met with our first magical moment with a room upgrade from a studio deluxe to a 1 bedroom King suite. Wow!! I have tears just thinking about it. Jacuzzi, washer and dryer, quiet pool view, second floor. The resort is truly unlike any other on Disney property. You feel so immersed in Disney magic. An amazing train room with lot's of Walt Disney memorabilia. I sat endlessly alone with my morning coffee in that room then would head out for the most beautiful sunrise and that was just the start of our days. Our next magical moment was with a Cast Member named Mark who took us out for a private fishing charter with views of the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and the Contemporary I can't ever forget. My daughter's first fishing trip and catching her first fish. So knowledgeable, catch and release of course we can't thank him enough and will be scheduling another charter on our next Disney vacation. We took a resort only vacation never wanting to leave. Each and every Cast Member from the poolside to Mousekeeping just the very best in Customer Service and we are so thankful. We will be back to the Wilderness Lodge the most Magical place for us. 🏰 ✨…
This was our first time staying at Boulder Ridge 1bd. My husband my Daughter and I came out to meet up with my Sister from Georgia. We're ex cast members from the Disneyland Hotel. So we know our way around DVC. This is a gem of a resort. We overlooked the pool and Geyser Point. We couldn't get enough of Geyser point and that Buffalo burger, both pools are awesome and I loved that Geyser pool had cabanas that were first come first serve. The spa was spacious. We're not park people since we've worked for Disney. But we went on a bike ride to Fort Wilderness and that was the highlight of our trip. We can't wait to come back. Staff are very friendly and we had a wonderful time.
