The customer service at the front desk, the cleanliness of the room, every person and amenity that we encountered were top-notch. We fly out of Miami often but this is the first time we have stayed at Sonesta Miami Airport…and we will never choose another hotel when we are in the area!
Everyone here at the Sonesta goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and well taken care of. If there is an issue with your room, the front desk (Santiago) is quick to call engineering to fix the issue and provide you with another room (things happen, right?). Wilson is an excellent bartender. Always quick with a smile (even through the mask) and a friendly greeting. He is very good to remember what your favorite drink is too… if you are here more than once. And… the van drivers are always super helpful with your bags and very friendly (special shout out to Jesus, the driver, he always makes you feel like you are a family member coming home for dinner… even though I am away from my family and at work). The van times every 20 minutes is super convenient too!! There are for sure more names that I should list here that do a great job… so,,. Sorry to have missed them in this list. Overall… as a business owner who hates hearing her employees complain in front of the customers… and hates hearing those same complaints from employees out in the world…. my hat is off to a great group of people who… even during the rough days… always stay professional and keep the smiles going!! Keep up the great work!! The only negative that I could say is… the rooms are just a little dated… however, they are very, very clean!!…
My flight was cancelled and I was put up here. The hotel looks really nice (love the lobby area) and it is clean. Very close to the airport too. The front desk staff are all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was also given a late check-out which was awesome! I only got Owen's name...he's a gem! Would definitely stay here again. I was actually sorry the flight didn't get cancelled again :)
Arrived from the Cruise Port, Owen went above and beyond. Very accommodating and helpful. Will definitely recommending this place, excellent hospitality, Owen made me feel so relieved and stress free, I didn't have to wait until check in time to be able to go to my room, that made us feel so relieved after coming from a week long cruise. Thanks Again Owen
Fantastic staff! Excellent breakfast and food in the 950 cafe. Clean rooms and wonderful housekeeping staff. I'd return for sure ☺️ The location is close to everything and close to the airport. The amenities are excellent and shopping for almost anything is in close proximity.

When I say Owen saved the day and eased my mind. If it wasn’t for Owen I think I would’ve canceled. Thank you Owen for going above and beyond to put a smile on my face 😊. On the account of Owen I will return to this Sonesta location.
Sonesta observations: 1-The inside of the door of room 640 is swollen like an internal repair that was not repaired completely. 2-Maid service has to be requested daily. Even when we requested daily maid service we still had to call to reception again to get service that had not been done by 5:00 p.m. 3-There are no signs informing the opening hours of the restaurant or the bar. 4-There is no hotel guide in the room explaining services available, local information like airline phone numbers and all services available in the hotel or in the area. 5-The return spring equipment on the door that provides access to the sidewalk on Lejeune has been broken since our arrival on 15 May 2022 and the door remains open sometimes. 6-Uber's system has not been advised of the hotel name change and this creates confusion for drivers coming to pick up hotel guests 7-Some of the front desk personnel do not even look at details in the reservation like the one that I requested and personally spoke with Santiago who did a great job noting that we would arrive at 7:00 a.m. from a long international trip and would need to check into the hotel early in the morning. The front desk clerk did not even read the notations in the reservation before saying “Check in time is only around 3 o’clock p.m.”. I have stayed at this property over two hundred nights and aways made my reservations like this when it was an IHG property without any problems. 8-There are no notepads at the house phone station in the lobby area for guests or visitors to jot down a note (this existed when it was the Crowne Plaza), 9-The shuttle drivers are the same ones that were here when it was the CP and they are friendly, polite and very efficient. 10-Some of the wall electric sockets are a bit worn causing the plugs to fit loosely or almost fall out especially the one under the window and the one under the work desk. This problem has existed for years since the hotel was the CP. 11-There is no takeout service for breakfast like there used to be in the past. The result is that someone that would like to take their breakfast to go to work in their room in the morning cannot get breakfast to go. The bottom line is that the F&B department loses money. Charging a fee and allowing to go breakfast would generate some sales that are lost to guests that want this service. 100% of nada is NADA. 12-The F&B manager is a very helpful person and always greets guests and is really dedicated to helping the guests. 13-The phones in the room were antiques when the hotel was the CP and they are still horrible. The batteries run down quickly, dialing information is not clear and calls drop off some times. These phones are ancient and out of date for a modern hotel. 14- The bar opening hour is ridiculous. I went into the bar at 17:25 (although there is no sign showing the opening hours and although the door was open and the bottle display cabinet was open after a while an employee showed up only to tell me that the bar only opens at 18:00. When the property was a Crowne Plaza property the bar opened earlier and always had customers. In my opinion, two things are wrong here. There is no sign on the outside of the bar advising clients of opening and closing time and the opening time is too late. I think that three or four o’clock would be a good opening time. The restaurant appeared to be but some people do not like to drink in a breakfast restaurant as well as some people do not like to eat breakfast in a bar. While I was writing this outside of the bar eight hotel guests asked me when the bar would open. Lost revenue. 15- There is no menu in the room for customers to order food to be picked up in the restaurant or bar if there is no more room service (like it was during the pandemic).…
Spent 3 days and 2 nights here for work. The property is very nice and the staff courteous. One individual, however, made a huge impression. Sayda was working the Bar our first night and we had the best time and amazing service! She worked our group event there for the subsequent 2 days. She always greeted us with a smile and made time to chat with us...all the while providing outstanding service. She was the best part about our stay.
