The Crown Inn is a 16th century thatched pub on the Jurassic Coast The Crown Inn is a beautiful 16th century thatched pub situated in the village of Puncknowle (pronounced Punnel), a stones throw away from the stunning West Dorset coastline. New tenants Anna and James, two members of the Lemon family of five, assure you of a warm welcome to The Crown. There's plenty to do all year round, whether you are relaxing in the large beer garden with stunning views on a hot summers day, enjoying an award winning local ale in the bar next to the log burner or tucking into some traditional locally sourced pub fare. We also offer two lovely en-suite B&B rooms if you plan on spending days exploring the spectacular landscapes of the Dorset coastline and Jurassic Coast. We are more than happy to welcome dogs in the garden, upper bar area and bedrooms.

We booked a table for 7 for lunch including our dog. It couldn't have been easier as we had great difficulty finding anywhere else suitable to break up our journey. The owners and staff were exceptionally friendly and hospitable. Very dog friendly! We had fish and chips, burgers

There are plenty of walks in the area including the South Dorset Ridgeway - 17.5 miles but you only need walk part of it. Up to Hardy's monument is nice with great views. We saw plenty of dog walkers on that path.
