Little Palm Island Resort & Spa enjoys acclaim for its spotless premises, with guests regularly complimenting the pristine condition of its rooms and communal areas. The resort's colonial-style rooms offer a sense of privacy, though some guests have encountered issues with humidity.

Hotel's Favourite
Our three night stay on our boat exceeded our expectations in every respect. Upon arrival we were helpfully greeted on the dock and given a brief tour of the facilities. Actually, the first greeting by our name was on the VHF radio as they had been anticipating our arrival. The resort’s dining and relaxing areas along with the beach, pool and recreational equipment are immaculate. It is apparent that LPI is all about relaxation cloaked behind understated elegance. There is zero hustle and bustle as everything is on “island time.” What really distinguishes LPI is the over-the-top staff. Each and every one we encountered was professional, polite, courteous and cheerful in their respective responsibilities.
While the resort is expensive we knew about it before we booked our stay.
Our time on the island went too quickly but we return.

The arrival and departure experiences are unparalleled. Once we were checked in, we were brought to Little Palm Island in a Kennedy era, period correct, wooden Chris Craft named after former President Truman. How cool. The island has presidential pedigree which adds to its mystique. Once on the island, we were greeted by Kat who gave us a thorough introduction to the resort’s amenities, history and lay out. Once in the suite we were greatly impressed once more by the cleanliness, space, décor and attention to detail. We enjoyed meals through room service and all the other outlets throughout the resort and found the food quality and service to exceed our expectations. The menus are changed daily so you will not get bored if you stay for a while. The Spa is also very serene and special. Although we did not have any treatments throughout our stay, we were able to tour some of the uniquely appointed treatment rooms. You will see a lot of birds and have many different things to do in and around the island. There are Boston Whalers boats available for guest use on a first come, first serve basis to explore the area’s sand bars and more. They will also arrange diving and fishing trips for you if that is your thing. Ground transportation is available from area airports to and from the resort. The boutique offered a nice variety of resort wear, gifts, and even had books, toys and stuffed animals for the kids back home. I thought that was a great touch. You can also arrive by sea plane and there is docking available if you rather stay in your yacht. The drive down from Palm Beach County was not bad at all. In just about three hours, with a couple of stops for lunch and exploration, we were pulling in to the reception center. Keep in mind that it may be a bit longer during holidays or weekends.
The best tip would be to take the time and let the team educate you and all that is available in the island as far as amenities, and things to do in the area. I definitely feel that the experience and level of service justify the price.

This place is top notch from beginning to end. Starting with excellent communication via email for pre-arrival information including dining and spa arrangements SA well as activities like fishing. I cannot recommend LPI report enough. We opted for the Culinary package and upgraded our room from the basic (though still lovely) to the same size Romance Suite which included a bit more outdoor amenities including a Steel tub outside and a private beach area. We were picked up by the very nice Terry from Key West airport and a quick 30 minute drive tot he “mainland” reception area dan then a 12 minute boat ride to the resort. Cat greeted us and showed us to a guest locker area where our luggage was kept awaiting our room to be available - we also used this at the end our trip which allowed us to enjoy the resort until we had to leave but still shower prior to going tot he airport. It is an excellent system allowing for early arrival and late departure.
The resort was at capacity but at no time did it feel that way. It’s easy to get one of the cabanas by the pool. Service there is excellent and there is bar out side. Drinks and food were consistently excellent. The little gem of a place had just about the best service we’ve encountered. All staff were “with the program” and I did not encountered someone saying they had to ask someone else the answer to one of my questions.
The quality of the food is top notch. We also brought a fish Ryne caught and the resulting meal the chef prepared form this bounty was also great.
My only “complaint” which is put here reluctantly since it’s nature was the No see-ums. These are tiny but very vicious flies that bite stupendously above their weight class. The resort supplies ample repellent but they seem resistant to it. If you are sensitive to this explore some repellent options before you arrive that seem extra strong.
Also, shout out to Rolando the concierge who will arrange all your excursions.

We were very excited to get to LPI before the hurricane and then after COVID. We finally got there but the experience was from what was expected.
They doubled their rates from last year and when I asked why, the manager told me due to demand. OK, but when paying close to $5000 per day, you better have five star service and amenities. Alas, LPI is far from that.
The Pro's:
* No kids under 16. That means no strollers, no screaming kids on the beach or restaurant and no parents who think their kids are perfect.
*Only 30 rooms and no visitors allowed who aren't guests.
*Excellent chef who prepares different menus daily and dinners are especially good.
*Dinner on the beach at no extra charge
*Amazing sunsets
*Fun tiki bar with live piano music six days a week from 6PM-10PM
*Beach offers complimentary boats including sail and motor.
The Cons:
*Staff is disengaged and with only maximum 30 rooms, they don't know your name even after four days.
*"Suites" are nothing but a hotel sized room divided into tiny cubicles. The bedroom barely holds the bed, the outdoor shower is very limited and the suite is decorated like you are in the woods instead of an island.
*12% service charge and for this you get cookies and chocolate only on arrival and water
*Tiny beach infested with seaweed. They claim they cannot clean it but we have seen them clean it.
*Overpriced spa. Services are very expensive, therapists are average at best and only 50 minutes.
*In-room amenities are the same as Ocean Key and nothing special included
*Fitness center is OK but no spinning bikes
*No fresh juice at breakfast even OJ.
Overall, LPI is very quaint. Don't plan on running or riding a bike, there is no space and walking is very limited to guest rooms and boardwalk areas. Pool area is decent (no spa). If management invested in employee training and engagement, this place would be so much better. If you book the deluxe suite, you do get a nice outdoor area with fire pit and lounge chairs. But if the winds are around....
They need to go back to their previous rates and retrain their staff. When it is worthy of five star status, then perhaps a daily rate of $2500. But at $3400 plus 12% service charge plus meals and drinks, there are so many other places to visit.

We stayed two nights in June. The welcome center was nice, the crew on the brief boat ride over to the island were friendly, the service received from staff while on the island was excellent, the food was good, outdoor dining on the water was pleasant, the room was tastefully decorated, but was attached (not free standing, but this was not an issue for us), the spa services were fine, the beach was disappointing and not as pictured in advertisement (also was closed for part of our visit and construction noise was prominent at the pool area during this time). We encountered some issues with the location of our room for which, in fairness, management did make some compensation, however, as this was a special occasion for us the experience could not be recaptured. Overall the island is unique for the US and has great potential however at this price point it has a way to go to deliver a truly five star experience.

My wife and I are celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary and decided to travel through the Keys.
Little Palm Resort was our second stop and did not disappoint.
Everything was 5 star and focused on the guest. From check in to the regrettably too soon check out, we felt like the only two guests at the resort.
This place forces you to relax - no televisions in the suites; tranquil settings and gardens; attentive but not overbearing service; gorgeous nature and sunsets.
We booked a romance suite which was fantastic. Well appointed room with everything thought of. Outdoor soaking tub and shower were used every day. Nightly fire pit lighting made for a romantic end to each evening.
The menu at the restaurant was interesting with a focus on local seafood and simplicity. Everything from the ceviche appetizer to the Snapper and Mahi specials were well prepared and presented. Having dinner on the beach during sunset simply cannot be beat.
We booked a couples spa package and it was outstanding. Excellent pressure on the massage; first salt scrub for me and I am now a fan.
I fished each evening from my dock in front of the suite. Mangrove snapper, Grunt, and Snook galore. Only problem was not having a net for the larger snook so had to let them spit the hook as I couldn’t get them to the dock. Rods and bait all provided by Evan and Rolando. Thanks guys.
Lastly I read a lot about the price of this place and frankly if you only look at this as cost you are missing the point. Little Palm Resort is an investment in you, your partner, your health, your love of life. Memories and experiences that you will take home with you and keep in your heart forever.
We will definitely make the investment in Little Palm Resort every year.

This is a private island via a 15 minute private ferry, It has world class amenities, food, + great service. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and top rate. No TVs in rooms is great, but if you must free great WiFi covers the island, even on the beach. There is a heated pool, water sports, + trips easy to arrange to snorkel, Scuba, fish, wildlife, etc. This is Thurston Howell III's version of Gilligans Island. Fresh local fish, great selections, creative, and chef leans towards finest Japanese beef that melts in your mouth like butter. I was there for New Year's Eve & private 15 minutes of great fireworks launched from a boat about 200 feet off the island in the channel.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. We are very active and healthy so we thought the concept of being on an island getaway would be a great idea (it is a great concept just executed poorly at this resort). The staff is excellent, like they’d had ritz Carlton or 4 seasons training. And when discovered this was not our thing, they agreed to refund our money, so that was nice. However, the resort is just not that nice. Where we live is MUCH nicer than the accommodations. They’re very old and worn bohemian type theme with dark furnishings and plantation blinds. That’s the worst thing about the resort. They could make these huts (great idea) light bright and airy with full windows to let in the outside so to speak). The second issue is.... although they keep the resort very clean, no trash, paths raked out nicely, etc.... it’s just not that nice. We were expecting clear water and Caribbean type beaches (because that is what is depicted in their advertising and Instagram) but it is just not nice. The water is at a main Chanel connecting the gulf side to the Atlantic side so while the boats are fun to look at, it makes it feel as if you’re in a port type setting, sloshy water that’s not that nice and churned up all the time. Bottom line is 1. Nice concept 2. Friendly staff but it’s just not that nice. We’ve stayed in better Hampton inns, seriously. So the price they charge is ridiculous. I can’t imagine they have many repeat customers unless people just don’t know how nice other parts of Florida are. The island is tiny (4-5 acres) so there’s no moving around, going on a walk, etc.

wgj2021, Thank you for the comments and we appreciate the opportunity. I am sorry the surroundings were not what you expected. Tides and weather play a factor in water clarity. Fortunately, this only happens a handful of times a year and for a short period. A couple of days after you departed the water clarity and beach were stunning as usual. Little Palm Island has curated decor and we are aware it will not be for everyone.

We just had a great visit for my fiancé’s 50th birthday. The island is amazing and so are the many activities offered, we used the paddleboards and Boston whalers. We saw tons of wildlife on the island including a variety of birds, the resident blue heron “Kelly” and a lemon shark one night under the pier. The dining room has great options with a menu that changes everyday and is based around the fresh local seafood. We also really enjoyed the variety of cocktails on the menu, and talking to the bartender in the monkey hut (Tori) and him making a rum tasting for us with Venezuelan and some other unique rums after we mentioned wanting to try them. Highly recommend LPI! The boat ride from the mainland is only 12 minutes but it’s truly an escape. The design of the bungalow suites is great we loved the decor and the outdoor shower!

My husband and I had an incredible week on Little Palm Island. We felt very fortunate to find an experience this amazing during COVID times. We felt safe and well cared for the entire time we were on the island, which was important given the ongoing situation. We arrived via seaplane and we were immediately greeted on the dock by Kat. She gave us a fantastic overview of the island and then showed to our suite. The suite was amazing (suite 4, an Island Romance suite). It has fantastic outdoor space as well as a beautiful view. While the island and the suites are beautiful what stood out to us throughout the week was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone there seems to genuinely love the island and they look for every way possible to ensure their guests are having an amazing time. I celebrated my birthday while we were there and multiple team members went out of their way to help my husband provide me with an unforgettable day and ultimately week. There were many stand-out team members who we enjoyed getting to know. Carolyn helped with the birthday celebration and also ensured our dining experiences were always amazing. Kadi and Kat both helped us organize our activities prior to arriving to the island and then Kadi and Rolando added some much appreciated special touches to our room one evening while we were dining. Lizzie was fantastic in ensuring a great stay as well and Torre the bartender at the Monkey Hut provide some great cocktail tips for my husband to test out at home. Rolando took us by boat to catch our departing seaplane on the water as a final example of the outstanding service on LPI. We appreciated the fitness facility, the availability of chairs on the docks on the other side of the island as well as around the pool for the days where we had some wind on our side and the ability to use kayaks and paddle boards any time we were so inclined. We also had a fantastic day out on the water with a boat captain where we enjoyed some fishing (and even caught a shark) as well as an amazing quiet lunch on an uninhabited Key. And last but certainly not least, the food is absolutely incredible. Everything we ate at every meal was simply amazing. The seafood, the fruit, the vegetables. Just one of the many, many ways LPI exceeded our expectations. We are already looking forward to a return visit!

There is a beach with loungers. However, understand, this isn't Miami...this is the Florida Keys. There will not be splashing waves. The water is very still. There is plenty of wifi on the island to stream in your room. There is also a large TV room upstairs (I can't remember what it is called) that usually has sports on.
Oct 2023 prix fixe dinner for off-island guests was either 175 per. Dinner for two ended up at 750 once cocktails, additional appetizer, tax & tip were added. We didn't try to economize, but no caviar, bottles of wine, lobster or other big ticket additions. You could go cheaper, but it would be challenging to do dinner for 2 for less than $450
