Property is beautiful …. But. Soooo outdated. Horrible beds! They were so worn out there were worn indents from people. Should have been thrown out years ago. Sofa collapses under one person sitting on it. Can’t imagine it would be a comfortable pull out. Sheets, towels, paper products were all scratchy and rough as sand paper. Water is smelly and tastes bad. Bring bottled water. Floor so dirty when we arrived- couldn’t have been cleaned. A/C heat is inconsistent. Freeze or sweat. Suggest you go somewhere else.
….so I am writing this review of Star Island before I go again in November. (8 more weeks!) I can because I’ve been there numerous times. First, read the resort description. There are numerous condo sizes that sleep a different number of people. It’s not the resorts fault that you booked a small unit when you needed something larger. As they state, the resort cannot move or change your reservation, so be sure of your booking. The front check-in staff are excellent and work hard to get you to your condo in record time. They’re the best at what they do. The units are as stated. Yes you might run into a bug or two… it’s Florida! If I was a bug I’d hang out at the resort also. Sometimes you’ll find something within the unit that doesn’t work.. it happens…it’s called Life. No need to call and scream as they probably didn’t know there was a issue. The maintenance staff is quick to respond to correct whatever is needed. All harmless. Some units have washers /dryers, some don’t. Each are stocked with a “startup” of soaps, toilet paper, etc. Nothing is endless. When needed the resort mini-mart stocks those much needed supplies. They also provide a wide range of hot and cold food, drinks, and assorted dairy … home of the famous “Star Burger”. Stop in and order a burger, say hello to the staff. You’ll be glad you did. The resort is kept clean, totally spotless., no matter where you look. You’ll notice the staff constantly cleaning and tending to the landscape, never slowing down. You’ll get tired just watching them! Parking is parking. Sometimes you’ll get a front row parking spot outside your building, sometimes not. It all depends on the time of the day and where exactly you’re trying. But then again isn’t it like that no matter where you’re trying, regardless of location? Amenities. What can I say. The pools are great for both adults and kids. Clean and refreshing. George, Nichole, and Chase are constantly mixing all types of drinks that are available from the poolside or upstairs bar. You also have the option of Diana delivering something to your lounge chair so no need to move very far. There is a DJ playing music poolside during daylight hours. Scott has a great selection and is always ready to play the favorites. He also keeps the kiddies busy with games and gives awards for the winners. Also available is morning golf with a bucket of free balls. Get there early as it does get busy. Upstairs bingo is always fun along with nightly karaoke. The music does get loud but does not last late into the evening. While you’re there, book a massage at the day spa. It’s clean, professional and relaxing. The perfect way to start your vacation! Give Star Island a chance. It’s a great place to stay, close to shopping and restaurants, not far from the parks. What matters most is that the staff works hard to make your time there the best it can be.…
Service was poor had to call multiple times and go to the main desk to get results. Halfway through our stay we needed new towels and had to practically bag for them. Needed a crib for my 10 month old son and had to call three times before going to the main desk again to ask for one. Dishwasher was leaking. Cookware/dishware was little to none. Portions of the floor were coming up in an hour room ran out of toilet paper.
If you don't love this resort, you are way too hard to please!! Efficient check in. Beautiful well kept ground. Hugh friendly staff. Large clean, well stocked unit. (Some furniture needs updating). Large pool with a pool bar. Activities all afternoon and evening. Free equipment check out for tennis, golf driving range, put put, ping pong, Cornhole, pickleball and more. Elevators, several luggage caddies and ample parking. Highly recommend this resort.
Beautiful resort grounds, and pools, such a great place for little ones and seniors. Daily things to do and 4:00 Bingo $$ daily in the sky bar. Our room had huge TVs, jacuzzi tubs- which we used almost daily. All of our needs were met. The resort staff from check-in to bar staff, maintenance were all so nice and helpful. There was not a need that was unmet at this wonderful place. The store on premises has everything and even makes food. We will definitely return- thank you💕🏝️
My husband has been over worked and we were looking for a get-away break. Luckily, we were able to book last minute. We had a suite (units A/B). Probably sleeping capacity for 10 (6/4). And it was only 2 of us. I felt like a Queen! The "B" unit is bigger. Nice size master with soaker tub, big walk in shower, sleeper sofa, nice size kitchen, full size appliances, washer/dryer, and balcony overlooking a pond and fountain. "A" unit has 2 doubles and sleeper sofa, cook top, small refrigerator, apt size dishwasher. Bath has a jacuzzi tub! The grounds are beautiful. They have 2 pools, hot tub (outside and in locker rooms), tennis courts, putt-putt golf, driving range, play ground, pool bar, another bar, spa, steam room, sauna and more. They offer music and games pool side. Plenty to do in the resort and plenty to do near the resort. It is a short few miles to all the Disney attractions and so much more. I did a spa service that they were excellent. All the staff have been pleasant, personable and helpful. We had a couple of issues and handled my maintenance with an hour. The deli/store has most of what you need. The last night we ordered pizza from the recommended "Flippers." It was delicious but very very expensive. It was double what I would have spent at home. Great food outside of the resort and very close. Whatever you want. Grocery stores near by. Great time, great resort, centrally located.…
Star Island is a wonderful resort. My girlfriend I love staying there. It is close proximity to Disney World and Old Town. The pool is nice as well as the hot tub. Jonathan at the front desk gave us great service and we are very thankful. He made our stay a lot more enjoyable.
Did not like the location. Had to walk down a small ally way to get to room. Room was in the back with a view of the woods. Only had 2 pools (which both were nice) and bar had good drinks. Older buildings which need updated.
This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in my entire life as a traveler. 1. Arrived at Jan 01 2023 and they allocated my family in the room 1626A. . The room was clearly not cleaned, smelling and looking weird. . The morning of the day after I woke up with 3 cockroaches in one bedroom and in the kitchen. I communicated to the front desk, but they asked me to wait while they would check and get back to me. They returned after about 2 hours. At this point I couldn’t get the call due to other vacation schedules and appointments. When returned to the hotel they offered the option to re-allocate my family to a different room - they explained that this was actually the original room that I was supposed to be since the beginning and it would be cleaned with regular pest control… . I moved all my bags to the different room. The room was in the same building - 1622A, but everything was very similar and the morning after the same experience and I took photos and videos of the cockroaches. I requested to clean the room using the door signal requesting to clean the room and left the room during all day. When I returned noticed the room hadn’t been cleaned at all and saw more cockroaches, then reported back to the front desk immediately. The manager on-duty came to my room and explained that no one cleans the room if they see the door signal “Please make up the room”, because they don’t speak English!!!!!!! And they only would be available to clean the room and sanitize the next day in the morning. I’m still here since this is a pre-paid hotel and it’s been the worst experience ever. They didn’t offer any reasonable solution.…
This resort was above and beyond. The rooms were pristine. The staff was wonderful. My family was so excited to stay there. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay in Kissimmee. I wish we could have stayed longer. Shops and restaurants are conveniently located near the resort. It was all around a great vacation.
