The Gulf View Waterfront Resort remains one of the Florida Keys' best kept secrets. This small Marathon Florida hotel is charming and private. The Dolphin Research Center is a short walk away, and Aquarium Encounters, Crane Point Hammock, and the Turtle Hospital are all nearby.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
This is our second time staying at the Gulf View Waterfront Resort. We stayed in an efficiency room and cooked several meals on a few of the multiple grills they provide onsite. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of huge chain resorts. The heated pool is delightful in December as well! #supportsmallbusinessowners

The hotel boasts an excellent location with breathtaking views, and although it lacks traditional resort amenities and dining facilities, a variety of restaurants can be found in the vicinity. On the premises, guests can enjoy the complimentary use of two kayaks, a paddle board, and a pool. It's worth noting that the front desk closes promptly at 4 PM, but the peaceful atmosphere and hassle-free parking compensate for any inconveniences.
The rooms are equipped with an in-room stove top, microwave, pans, utensils, and a full-size refrigerator, allowing for a comfortable and convenient stay. The only minor downside was the lukewarm water in the shower. Despite this, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

We needed to be near Dolphin Research Center so I picked Gulfview Resort and we were not sorry. It was a 4 minute walk to the Center. Clean, big rooms. We stayed in Ocean view suites Room 22. Great room for us and I would pick it again. Full size refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, single coffee maker, sink, table to eat on, dish detergent, paper towels, sponge, dishes and utensils for 2 were all included. Double recliner couch. Bed was comfortable, iron and small ironing board. Big bathroom with very nice tiled shower. Individual hair shampoo and conditioner. Hair dryer. Ceiling fan in living room and bedroom. Fish cutting table by boat ramp under tiki hut. 2 sit on top kayaks and a solid stand up paddle board with paddles and life jackets for free use during 9 to 5. Only bad is office closes at 5 and most times I was not back in time to paddle because of office being closed so I took one star away. Suppose to check in between 4-5 before office close . Nuce pool, loungers, small sandy beach area. Do not thinkbwould want to get into ocean here but many took advantage if pool. 2 hammocks to enjoy and loynges in small beach with several beach umbrellas. I would rather stay here than the big name brand hotels. Beautiful sunset. Quiet area. Washer and dryer available for free to hotel residents. No breakfast. Ample parking.

5/6/21. Check in was not until 3pm. The lady behind the check in desk was a bit disheveled but nice. We stayed in room Scarlet Mccaw #14. They were installing a new wax ring on the toilet and still needed to clean the room, so we changed into our swimsuits in the employee bathroom (Eek!) on the front of the building and hung out at the pool until check-in. The unit was spartanly furnished but nice, the beds were comfortable, and the AC worked great! Nothing fancy, but reasonably priced for the area.

The Gulf View Resort is a no-frills slice of heaven. The west sunset view is lovely, and I spent most of my weekend there in one of the hammocks facing the bay. Check in between 9:00 and 5:00 was a breeze, the rooms are spacious, the king bed has a foam mattress, and the kitchenette was spotless. The bathroom shower stall is a bit small and could use an upgrade. Our cleaning attendant Sandra was very sweet and greeted us with a huge smile every day. great service from the staff. The price is a good value for what you get.

This our third time staying here and still great place. A nice family run place and you deal directly with the owners for everything. Our smoke alarm started chirping and I walked to the office and no need to report to maintenance and hope it was fixed. Instead he walked over right away and replaced the smoke alarm. The rooms are clean and the ground are beautiful. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with lots of bells and whistles then skip this place. But if you want a nice, friendly family owned place then consider Gulf View Waterfront Resort

Our room was excellent, everything worked and was quiet at night. The pool and pool area are in superb condition and we totally enjoyed it. The grounds are maintained well, birds and tortoise were a nice break and made us feel like we were at a zoo. We did not have a boat but it looked like a good ramp to the Gulf. The location is N. Marathon and can access the middle keys very easily. Had a great time and the staff in the office are top notch and very accommodating. Will be back on the next trip to the Keys

Our first visit to the Gulfview Waterfront Inn. Although this is an older-style Florida hotel it is obvious that updates have taken place and the staff are dedicated to making sure your stay is clean and comfortable. We were always greeted with friendly smiles each day, especially from Ray, Cleopatra, Sandra & Osheena. We were able to bring our small dog Rosie and also a boat that worked out very well with the on-site boat ramp. Thank you all for a wonderful 2 weeks in the Keys!

The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. When we booked it , we had requested a waterfront view and we actually couldn’t see much of the water from the room. We did enjoy sitting on the dock/boat launch every morning with our coffee. It was a very peaceful and quiet place to be. We enjoyed the birds and the tortoises. The new owners were very nice and friendly. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

This place is absolutely beautiful! My family and I come to the keys every year and this is absolutely the best place we have stayed. It is exactly what we were looking for. you are able to use kayaks and paddle boards that are there for the tenants. You can also visit the turtles and birds that talk to you. Hi Kate, Thank you for your interest in the Gulf View. On February 12 through 15, 2018 we have a first floor efficiency (15) with a king size bed and a fully equipped kitchen for $165.00 plus tax per night.
On February 25, 26 and 27 we have a second floor guest room (21) with a queen bed, a double bed, a refrigerator and a microwave for $145.00 plus tax per night.

Hi. I personally did not stay here. We booked the room for a young friend of my daughter's. But I did go over and walk through the resort. It is not fancy, but the room he stayed in was spotless. It had been renovated so the furnishings were newer and in good condition. There was a small refrigerator and microwave and wonderful air conditioning. I don't know what other size rooms they have for a family of five. You'd have to check with the management. The room I saw did have 2 beds but it was small. It would be a tight fit for 5 people. But it was perfect for what we needed. There is a pool where you can enjoy a relaxing drink. I think there may be a grill, but you would have to check on that if you plan to cook something. Coffee was served outside on a table in the mornings. I believe there were kayaks you could use to go out in the bay right there on the property. I think kids of your ages would enjoy it here.
