We wanted an affordable place to stay in the Keys (well "affordable" is a relative as everything is expensive here, but this was within reach for us compared to other options). Our room was clean and large, had everything we needed (microwave, fridge, tv, outside sitting area). Beds were comfortable and the night was quiet. The property is well cared for, and has a beautiful sitting area along the water (it is a great place to chill out in the evening). The only downside was the wifi in our room was poor, so we had to move outside at a sitting area for better connection - but that was ok. The location was perfect for our plan to drive to Key West the next morning to spend the day - thus avoiding the very expensive hotels in Key West.

I needed an affordable place to stay with my dog for a night due to a race in Key West the following morning. Upon check in, the staff was incredible! They were extremely accommodating to my situation with the race and I was very appreciative. I walked to get food next door and overall had an extremely relaxing stay. Some aspects of the room could have used an update, but I was satisfied especially considering the location and price. It could have been a bit cheaper but I would stay here again.

The room was smaller than we expected, but was very clean. Housekeeping did a great job. You could tell that they recently updated the bathroom and the furniture in the rooms. The description of the place said that they had a beach, but I feel that was false advertising, or their idea of a beach is far different than mine. The heated pool was nice, but the furniture was old and dirty. Shelly at the front desk was nice, but we did have an issue while we were there. When we got in our room, we discovered that the fan in the bathroom was not working, so we reported it to the front desk. The maintenance guy came in the room, determined what the problem was ,and said he would be going to Home Depot to replace the fan. In the 5 days we stayed there, that never happened. When we were checking out, I pointed that out and they seemed unconcerned. There was never an apology, so rather disappointing.

Please don't make a reservation in this hotel. These people are nasty specially the girl at the front desk called Lexi. I made a reservation thru booking.com and since the account from I made the reservation was closed they kept $200 from me. I called several times and they were very rude and the worst. I heard from other people that the hotel is nasty. Please spend your money that you work so hard in another hotel that you are treated with more respect and decency. I am filing a claim thru a small claim at the court to get my money back.

This was a horrible experience. The website says “high speed internet” but then in the room there is a piece of paper that says WIFI is not guaranteed in any of the rooms. I was not able to work remotely. We had no WiFi in our room 45. The bedroom was deplorable. There was mold on the walls, the a/c, the headboard wasn’t even attached, and the sheets were STAINED. It was horrible. We were supposed to stay 4 nights. We ended up leaving the very next day.

Thankful this pleasant resort is so dog gone great about allowing dogs. We were turned off by KW prices ESPECIALLY w/ dog fees included. We were pleasantly surprised by how low-key pleasant Blackfin was. There were lots of little places to walk ShadowRae w/ o being anywhere NEAR the highway. Rooms were clean, spacious, internet worked...would have been worth staying a second night. $5 / night pet fee makes this resort a good value!

We've been staying at Blackfin for the past 19 years. Every stay we see updates and improvements on site. The Manager Chris and his wife make sure your stay is one to remember! The local fishing and diving are great as well. Tildens Scuba shop is on site with two boats docked at Blackfin. Blackfin offers a very relaxing atmosphere!

If you’re coming to the keys to relax, you’ll want to avoid this stops. Disgusting. When we checked in the office was being tented and you could smell the chemicals in rooms. Wi-Fi? No such luck - unless you leave your room and hang out by the laundry. Loud at night with people carousing outside rooms. A huge disappointment - and not cheap.

Bathroom was the worst…black mold in shower. Old worn disgusting toilet seat. We had booked for two nights but within the first glance knew we could not stay. Owners offered to re-caulk or bleach the mold. Expecting us to sleep with fumes.
General Manager Ruthie brusk and refused to come to look at room. Old toilet seat was switched out and tossed in garbage pail in front of me on property! Booking.com was Horrific to deal with and was of no assistance and stated room cleanliness or issues don’t warrant cancellation!
What a joke…never stay here…the front of the building is apparently in the process of being renovated but looks derelict and we could not believe this was the property entrance.

this is a good pit stop en route to key west, and one of the more affordable places at under $200 per night. room is nice and clean. check in/out straightforward. wifi is a little unreliable, keep getting cut out. there is a laundry room onsite too i believe.
