We got upgraded into a junior suite with kitchen.

The 2 double beds were in a separate room to the kitchen, small living room and dining table. The beds were comfy.

The kitchen lacked some basic equipment including a sharp knife and a oven try. A massive thank you to the lady on the front desk for finding me something I could put into the oven and lending me some of her own personally kitchen equipment. This was above and beyond anything I would expect so thank you.

We had no issues with WiFi.

The pool was nice, although it got a little chilli once the sun sets.

There were two manatees in the docking area which was great to see :)

We also took the free kayaks out which was nice.

It sounded like there was a party going on in one of the apartments below, the walls are pretty thin, loud laughing and chatting woke me up at 2.30am

It's was a perfect base to get to key west for a day trip.

We stayed here for 1 night, the WiFi kept crashing and we couldn’t get online. For not much money they could make some good changes, both bedside lamps were rusty. The window blinds don’t help as the sun comes streaming in at dawn so you need some curtains. There is a cockerel that starts crowing very early, I know that this isn’t the hotels fault. On a positive note the room is very bright and airy and the ac is very good. The fridge was very handy and it’s a good price for the keys!

Thank you for your review. You are absolutely correct we did have WI-FI issues and have addressed these issues. Last week we had our entire property WI-FI upgraded. I hope that next time you are in the Keys you will try us again.

When I opened the door to the resort the person working at the desk greeted me and told me where the room was and if I needed anything to let her know. Every one who worked there was nice through my whole stay I want to thank them so much for being so helpful. Cannot wait to go back.

Our stay here was nothing short of remarkable, especially considering the price. In fact, after booking only one night, we extended our stay twice, resulting in our being there for four consecutive nights. We stayed in a junior suite outfitted with an oven/stove, microwave, (nearly) full sized refrigerator, two full beds, large bathroom, over sized living space and even a huge, private screened patio. Charlotte and Leydi, at reception, were impressively polite and inviting. The housekeeping staff was busy, wore masks and seemed happy to be working there. It was refreshing, relative to many of the other places at which we have stayed recently. The room was super clean, down to the interior of the oven.

Honestly, I don't know why some of the other reviews are so negative. The guest service was exceptional and I am certain that if we were in need of anything (toilet paper/extra towels), it would have been provided with a smile.

If you're looking for an affordable place in the middle of the Keys, I would strongly recommend trying to book a room at Kingsail.

This is an old and run down motel that needs a gut job. Stayed here for 2 nights and my advice to you other travelers is to PAY UP and stay somewhere decent. Prices in the Keys are shocking compared to the rest of Florida but it is worth it unless you like roughing it. The king mattress in our room was super hard and uncomfortable and every little movement you made was like an earthquake. They must have found it for free on craigslist. The shower curtain was mildewed. Yuck. Paint was peeling off the walls in the bathroom. Yuck. The tile grout was mildewed. The shower only put out a tiny little bit of water and I could barely wash my hair. The TP holder was ancient corroded chrome. The A/C unit was literally stuck into a hole in the wall that must have been made by a chainsaw. The ceiling light fixture had no wall switch, only a chain pull. That's fun at night! And the outside door was warped at the bottom so there was a half inch by 8 inch gap there. And when we checked in, the desk clerk advised us (a middle aged couple) that there would be a $100 "damage" hold on our credit card, in case we "broke plates or glasses" in the room. It is hilarious now (especially since there were no plates or glasses to break) but I was dumbfounded at the time. The property is also in the flight path for the local airport, so there's that fun aspect of jet noise. The only nice thing about the whole place is the beautiful pool at the back of the property, but since it was chilly we did not swim. Avoid avoid avoid!!

The junior suite was decent in size but the bathroom was very small, especially if you have children. There was no shelf space anywhere. The first night, our feet were all black from the floors, so I would recommend bringing slippers or wearing your sandals shoes in the room. The room layout was also very inconvenient, there was no side table next to either bed. There is also only one key for each room, which made it difficult if the family wants to split up for activities.

Low natural light, felt very stuffy and dingy. It was a good thing the weather was good and we had activities planned each day and just slept there at night. Even in the winter, the room felt really damp until after 15 min after we turned the AC back on every time we returned to the room. There was no hair dryer or room phone and the TV remote and a few fixtures were broken. Not enough seating for 4 people despite being marketed as a 4 person room. Our stay was tolerable but I would not recommend this hotel.

This place is in terrible shape. Our bathroom window was broken and unable to close, leaving a three inch gap. It did not have screen so bugs crawled in. The hand railing to the second floor was very unsafe. Very shaky and just about rusted through. The drain was removed and open in the shower. Tiles were cracked. Very few towels and super small bathroom The hotel staff did not care. Booked through Expedia and have been unable to get a response or refund for our second night. We paid about $350 per night and were not expecting this level of disrepair. Don’t use Expedia. Don’t stay here if you want any service
