La Siesta Resort & Villas has received mixed feedback, with guests praising its excellent location and the convenience of shuttle services. The hotel's atmosphere is generally described as clean and comfortable, supported by a friendly and attentive staff, though some visitors have experienced service inconsistencies.
While the range of amenities and the spacious accommodations are acknowledged, there are concerns about the value, with high costs and fees for what some deem average services. Additionally, room quality varies, with both well-appointed spaces and instances of misleading room descriptions reported.

Our family recently spent 8 days at La Siesta in Islamorada. The resort is well kept and very easy to navigate. Everyone on their team was very accommodating and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. In particular Mac, Clark, Sidney and Jonathan went above and beyond to help us on several occasions. We stayed in the Casa de Coco which was conveniently located next to the pool and central to everything on the property. The house has some really nice features for groups such as ours with the open living room/kitchen area, etc. It would definitely enhance the experience if they had a few more staples in the kitchen area such as more silverware settings. a toaster, hot pads, a few more cooking pans or skillets, etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would love to return.

La Siesta is part of a group of hotels that basically dominate Islamorada. Staying at one gives you a wristband that allows you to use facilities at all. They offer a shuttle to take you between all the other places (resort fee:). This hotel feels cramped, not much of a beach and a small pool full of noisy kids. (The Amara Cay is better laid out, more quiet, with space around pool and beach). Breakfast is a strange affair in a tiny side room with help yourself muffins, cereals, tea and coffee. Stayed in a house which seemed brand new. Very big, lovely rooms, very comfortable but VERY strange EXIT signs everywhere which made it impossible to sleep if you were on a sofa bed! And no real curtains either. Generally pretty disgusted with how many hotels bumped up prices, sometimes 200, 300% over Christmas and New Year’s. Pure greed - and of course the new scam is THE RESORT FEE. Interesting article in USA Today over the holiday period about it. Booked NYE event at Pierre’s. Will post a separate review.

Greetings from La Siesta! Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding your recent stay. It appears you stayed in one of our two or three-bedroom homes with full kitchen. I hope you found the accommodations enjoyable at both La Siesta and our sister resort, Amara Cay. I am sorry to see that the complimentary breakfast was not to your liking. The breakfast room is attached to the main lobby and we welcome guests to spread out and enjoy our offerings on the attached patio with seating, just steps away from the pool and most accommodations. In addition to the items you listed, there should have also been fresh fruit, eggs, bagels of multiple flavors, English muffins and oatmeal. Please reach out to me if these items were not available during your stay, so I may investigate further. In regards to our daily resort fee, please kindly note that "resort fees" are standard practice at the majority of resorts in the Keys. Included in our resort fee are the onsite activities, like kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling gear and bicycles. It also includes the shuttle service you mentioned (which runs from 7:00AM to 11:00 PM - 7 days a week), pool towels, Wi-Fi, parking, unlimited in-room bottled water, coffee and tea, as well as numerous weekly programming and events between our collection of resorts. If this information was not relayed to you at the time of check-in, I sincerely apologize and welcome you to reach out to us so I may gather more details as to your experience. The La Siesta team hopes that we will be able to welcome you back again and provide you a five star experience. If there is anything we can do to make your future stay more enjoyable, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you and safe travels. Sincerely, La Siesta Resort Manager

We're staying for 6 nights and were informed there would be no housekeeping during our visit, even upon our request. Guests are in charge of emptying their trash, requesting towels and given cleaning supplies if they want a clean tub or toilet. At more than $300 a night, it's ridiculous. Be aware you'll be paying full price and receiving limited service with no compensation. There is no warning until you arrive, so make sure you ask in advance if you don't want to be sweeping sand, taking out trash and cleaning toilets on your vacation!

Greetings nicolefF1726WM! Thank you for your feedback. Although we did make an adjustment for you, we are saddened to hear that this did meet your expectations. Our Resort has changed the way we operate to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. Although we have followed all safety and heath recommendations put in place, we understand that this is frustrating for our Long Term guests and apologize for any inconvenience this caused during your stay with us. We truly hope that the future holds a more "normal" operation for our Resort and that we might have the opportunity to have you as a return guest. Until then, safe travels and have a great day!

My family of 4 with 3 dogs went on a family vacation to the Keys. LaSiesta looked like a beautiful resort and it is, however the management is inept and lied repeatedly as to why we never had hot let alone warm water for showering. He made excuse after excuse. “The pump is broken. I am having it fixed tomorrow.” It never was fixed. My husband, a plumber, challenged his plumbing excuses. All the manager could do is is apologize and take our money. The cleaning staff were lazy. Our room had sandy floors, dirty towels that never got changed despite our sign on door “ please clean our room.” It got to the point we had to put the dirty towels on the floor by our beds so we could clean the sand off our feet before climbing into bed. We would have left but Christmas holiday, where do you go?? For $4000/wk, I would expect better. Don’t be fooled!

Good evening, Feedback such as this is taken very seriously by our resort team, and we thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. We did experience unforeseen plumbing issues, and worked diligently during this time to correct them to the best of our ability. Although it is no excuse, being that the issue arose during the holiday week slowed down our attempts to remedy this with outside resources. We hope that your encounter with staff was meaningful, and if you did not feel as though these issues were addressed appropriately, we welcome you to reach out to us so that we may discuss the details of how we can serve you better in the future. I hope to hear from you soon, and wish to express my sincere apologies that your stay did not end on a positive note. I hope we will have the opportunity to make it up to you in the future. Sincerely, La Siesta Resort Manager

Off season and Covid. So it’s hard to rate. However, we seriously should have been advised that their tiki bar and lunch services were suspended for our 3 day stay. It appeared they were suspended due to lack of guests rather than Covid. As other Nearby resorts offered services.
They gave us an upgrade which was super, But seriously with everything closed or under renovation Our final bill was much Too high for what we received.
No housekeeping due to Covid. We Understand, but give directions To guests on how to remove trash and get fresh towels. Paddle boards, kayaks and fishing poles not available for our stay. No coffee in the rooms!! My “biggest complaint” after what we paid.
Plus Housekeeping stood just outside our door at 10:00 Am waiting for us to leave. check out is 11:00 am. Ugh Pushy and texting me at 10:00 pm my last nite to give them a five star rating. Like I said mixed feelings. No beach, no tiki bar, no lunch, no coffee, hard to find towels, fantastic view from upgrade.

Greetings from La Siesta! Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your recent stay with us at our resort. It saddens us to hear that your stay was less than exceptional. While COVID19 definitely affects our day to day operation (suspended Housekeeping, wearing a mask indoors, and social distancing) our resort has remained open and has offered complimentary breakfast daily, the use of kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles, an open pool, and socially distanced beach chairs at the pool and the beach. Every guest room is equipped with a Keurig coffee maker. While we are not offering daily housekeeping service, our Housekeepers are still available to bring new bedding, towels, coffee, toiletries, etc. from 7 am -11pm. If any of these services were not offered to you and explained at check in, please reach out to us directly so that we can further discuss your stay. We are also delighted to report that Our Tiki Bar is now open and serving from the hours of 11 am - 6pm. We would love to welcome you back to La Siesta and show you the true guest experience that we strive to provide all of our guests with. Thank you again and Happy Holiday's!

We had a great time at this place but, there's a couple things that needs improvement. Dan at check in was a true professional and was very knowledgeable about the island. He gave us some good tips on things to do and great restaurant to eat at. After checking in with him we went to our room and it was a complete nightmare! It was garbage by the room and the room itself wasn't really cleaned at all. After seeing that I went right back to the desk to see what's going on. I spoke with Dan about the room and he immediately gave me a nice upgrade and waived a fee which I thought was really sweet of him. Sarah the night agent was also very nice and helpful. She allows made sure we got items for our room when needed and we never had to wait long. She was also so sweet to my kids to. She always gave them candies and hold little conversations with them which I thought was cute. My son that's 5 just loved her and is still talking about her even at home. Everybody was actually pretty nice except that nasty morning agent! I think her name was mary ann or marilyn. She almost ruined our trip with with her horrible attitude and poor service! Every time we asked for something while she was there we never got it. And every time I go to the desk and ask her about it she just say housekeeping is busy you'll have to wait. One day we had a trip booked and been waiting awhile to get towels so I went to the desk asked her can she go get them for me and she said that's not my job and you'll have to wait for housekeeping. She had me so mad that she didn't care at all and with us paying $600 a night! That's not right! We ended up using our wet pool towels to dry off. She was nasty our whole stay to the point I avoided the front desk in the mornings. Everything was great but, that morning agent needs to go back to hospitality school!

Greetings NOgirl509! We value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to leave a review about your experience at La Siesta Resort! Sarah and Daniel are 2 Rockstar's at our front desk and we love hearing that you and your family enjoyed the interaction spent with those agents in particular. We are saddened to hear that you experience with another agent did not have the same results. We take pride in our service scores, particularly our front desk staff who are the heart of the operation and excel in customer service. I apologize if this was not the case during your stay. I can truthfully say that I am shocked to hear this feedback and will absolutely share this information with the team to improve the quality of time spent at the front desk. Thank you again for your review and we hope to have you back in the near future.

What a fantastic resort! Will definitely return. This little resort was delightful. Our king suite (410) oceanview room was very clean and spacious. The view from our large balcony was beautiful. The pool was a nice size- zero depth entry, very clean and in very pretty setting. Resort fee included access to 3 other “sister” properties, shuttle service (we did not use),continental breakfast, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, bikes and pool towels. All of which we took advantage of and were great!
Hotel is a a great location, 1:45 hours to Key West, and minutes from plenty of beach front local restaurants. We visited the other 3 properties we had access too and liked La Siesta the best. (The pool at the Postcard Inn was nice(swim up bar) we enjoyed an afternoon there, which we would recommend.
Views at La siesta of sunrises were unobstructed and included Pelicans frolicking in the ocean just a few feet away. Couldn’t think of a nicer place to start the day.
The large beach area was well maintained and had plenty of chairs to enjoy the view, although it is not a place you would swim in.
The entire resort was newly renovated, and the landscaping was very wall maintained.
Of course a place this great has to have a great staff too! Thank you to everyone! Especially Daniel, Marilyn and Andrea!

Three stars because this is definitely not a 5 star resort. Very expensive for what it is more of a motel than a resort. No room cleaning service they say due to Covid but probably an excuse not to pay for a daily housekeeper. We stayed for 4 nights on the 3rd day we asked for garbage bags, towels and shampoo, conditioner etc it took 3 phone calls to get finally at 11 pm.
I felt most of the staff on day shift weren’t helpful and some actually rude except the nice young man where you get kayaks, towels and bikes.
Breakfast is something you would get at a holiday inn, nothing special, the breakfast lady Linda was wonderful she was the most pleasant person working in the resort the other breakfast lady was rude, my daughter was actually scared of her because she yelled at her for looking for the cereal she liked and had the day before.
Evening shift front desk man was very nice, friendly and helpful, He is the one the ended up getting our requested items to us. He must have to work extra hard following the lazy unhelpful day staff.
The room was clean and very large which was nice. Linens and bedding not 5 star resort quality. The bed squeaked every time you rolled over.
The grounds nice and clean with a beautiful view.

Greetings WendyFennerl! Thank you for your review. Although we had to change our daily operations and adjust the services offered, we have implemented procedures by our staff to ensure guests get all requested items for their room replenished in a timely manner. I apologize if this was not the case and understand how frustrating this must have been for you. We take this constructive feedback seriously and appreciate your willingness to share your experience with our team to better our operation. We appreciate your compliments about our clean grounds and the beautiful views offered and we hope you will choose to stay at out resort again when visiting the Florida Key's!

I'll start by saying that this was a very quaint little resort that was very pretty - but honestly how could it not feel beautiful right on the water in the keys. The room was nice, but due to covid there is NO ROOM SERVICE (which I don't get b/c I'm not in the room when you are doing service, I just want a sweep, some fresh towels and the trash taken out). I don't need someone to make my bed daily, but it would have been nice to at least have a swiffer in the room for sand and some way for them to take the trash out. We were there with our 3 kids and by the end of the 3rd day, we had so much garbage (napkins, banana peels, souvenir wrappers, etc) and had to put towels down on the floor to wipe our feet from the sand.
The bar at the pool had almost no food when we arrived - nice snack menu advertised but when we got there our options were cheese pizza and a soft pretzel when I assumed we could make light apps work for dinner. We did but kind of yuck.
The continental breakfast itself was fine, but the breakfast room is tiny and with covid only a few people can be in there at a time. It was awkward and a test of patience. The woman working in the breakfast area was possessive over the surplus cereals (my kid wanted a certain cereal and it was a whole big deal that she had to open the drawer for a box of cereal when I just paid over $500/night to stay in a sandy hotel room.) Management during the week was "meh" but over the weekend when we were leaving they were more polite. The quaintness of this resort was really nice, and I liked that you could go to the other sister resorts (we only went to Amara Cay and I was immediately jealous we didn't book there). But I would not book again at this resort company because there are just too many to choose from and might as well start fresh next time.

The property was gorgeous and facility/amenities were very nice. However, it is run more like a hotel than a resort. I was underwhelmed by the service - bartender and towel attendant very spotty; no one asks if you need anything, always left to fend for yourself. I guess some of it may be due to COVID but it felt more like it was the attitude. Also, the property is clean on the surface but not really. There was trash including a battery and toothflosser in the sand next to our casita the whole time. The marina was loaded with trash and seaweed, the former never addressed, the latter there was a daily raking but not enough. The staff was reasonably nice. So overall, for the rate we paid I would have expected more of a resort feel, rather than that I was staying in just a nice hotel in any random city.
We stayed in one of the little houses. Generally it was very nice and reasonably clean. The shower/bath amenities are more like a discount hotel than a resort, particularly if housekeeping is not replenishing every day due to COVID. Also, there's a kitchenette but absolutely nothing to eat on, no cleaning supplies, so why bother. The freezer was full of frost, obviously hadn't been tended to in a long time and one leg was missing making it unstable. The table in the unit was scarred beyond the point of being rustic and charming.
Continental breakfast was clean and efficient. Food selection was "ok" but nothing to write home about. I realize compromises are necessary due to the pandemic but it really felt more like a generic hotel level vs. a resort I'm paying a very high rate for.
Pool was great, the beach was ok realizing that the geography limits the possibilities. There was surface cleanliness but a lot is missed. We did not appreciate the all day DJ on the Friday, we came for peace and quiet. It was better Sat/Sun with lower volume and shorter timespan.
In conclusion, for the rate we paid we were underwhelmed though we tried to give some space knowing how hard the last year has been on them. But we'd definitely try something else next time unless we got a very good rate, then we wouldn't mind going back but with different expectations.

Greetings Pjbradley_yyz! We appreciate you sharing your honest feedback about your recent stay with us. Although we have had to make changes and adjust to the new "normal" with COVID19, we apologize that we missed that mark with the "resort Experience" that you were expecting for your stay. I truly hope that during your stay your issues with the freezer and any other cleanliness concerns were reported to our front desk and corrected right away. We are also sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the DJ/entertainment that was provided over the weekend. While most of our guest enjoy live entertainment at the pool, we understand that some visit our resort to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Have a great day and we hope to see you again soon!
