La Jolla Resort is celebrated for its cleanliness and modern comforts in its spacious rooms, with many guests appreciating the updated and serene atmosphere. The staff's friendliness and the complimentary use of amenities such as kayaks and paddleboards consistently receive high marks.
Situated in a prime location, the resort is a stone's throw from local attractions and offers a variety of water sports equipment. While some guests consider it a great value, others feel the pricing does not match the offerings.

Detailed Reviews
My husband and I stayed here for a few nights and loved it!
Pros:
Great staff, room size, kitchenette and sofa, laid back atmosphere, boat docks, relaxing swimming pool, kayaks and paddle boards, picnic tables by the water, outdoor grill, hammocks and chairs, and the most perfect sunset views, and great location with cafes and restaurants and breweries nearby!
Cons: The air conditioning in our room didn’t keep us very cool at night, and we had to buy a fan since we like to sleep in the COLD. The shower is on the small side, and the water pressure wasn’t great. The bed was very firm and uncomfortable, in my opinion, but would probably be great for someone who likes a firmer mattress. There was a beer bottle and a couple cleaning rags left in our room when we arrived.
Overall, would stay again and would recommend! Great stay halfway between Key Largo and Marathon, reasonably priced, with decent amenities.

We stayed in the Bahia house. The property is beautiful, and the main part of the house and master bedroom/bathroom are very nice. The staff were amazing. They came every day to re-stock toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen and bath towels, made the beds, changed the sheets every few days, and they took out the trash as well. There is a washer/dryer at the house also. The resort offers kayaks, paddleboards and bikes for guest use at no additional cost, and there is a small pool. Now for the cons. The mattresses in the 3 additional bedrooms are very uncomfortable and squeak horribly. . We did not get great sleep as you would expect on vacation, and there is a reason there are no pictures past the main part of the house online. The toilets are also not very comfortable for adults. The kitchen has great appliances, but isn't well stocked if you want to cook meals there. The outdoor seating area is nice, but the furniture definitely needs cushions like the house next door, and the beach chairs could also use cushions for comfort.

+1
We recently stayed at this cute little gem in the Islamorada vicinity and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The resort is a serene, quiet retreat with a beautiful little beach, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We loved that they offered kayaks and paddle boards for guests to use – a great way to explore the surrounding waters.
The cleanliness of the resort was impeccable, and our room was beautifully decorated with charming beach accents, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The location is fantastic, with many restaurants and attractions nearby, making it easy to enjoy all that Islamorada has to offer.
We highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a low key, peaceful and picturesque stay in the Florida Keys.

Horrible Customer Service! Rude Front Desk Staff! This hotel does NOT offer a cancellation policy. Non REFUNDABLE Deposit under zero circumstances! We made our reservations 8 months in advance and tried to cancel due to travel restrictions and they would NOT refund our deposit of $373. They kept our money. I completely understand cancellation fees and policies but this is insane. Even the Four Seasons allows you to cancel with a 30 day notice! I am giving them a 5 month notice! Geez!
This hotel is a complete scam!

If I could give this 2 1/2 stars I would, but that’s not an option. The motel is in a very central location in Islamorada, and it has a nice waterfront location.
We had a Bayview room on the second floor, however, the view itself was obscured by the windows, which were quite dirty, and had paint on them. The buildings are very old and in need of some updating. Our flat blinds were falling down and had to be put up each night before we went to bed . The walls are also paper thin so you do hear your neighbors, however, it is relatively quiet there.
The room itself was very tiny, but the bathroom was even tinier. There isn’t a lot of space to put your things.
The staff was very friendly for the most part and some more exceptional.
They do offer the free use of kayaks and paddle boards and bicycles, but you do get what you pay for. We wound up renting bicycles from a different place.
I don’t think we would return here but if you know what you’re getting into, I think this could work for some

The place is conveniently located next to a great breakfast restaurant and a short walk to a nice waterfront restaurant and beach bar. This is an older style hotel with several 2-story concrete buildings and a small beach area with pier. Rooms are very basic and clean. Beds were good. On the downside, rooms had limited ventilation (many windows would not open, or only a small bathroom window). My only real complaint was the strong smell of cleaning products (?) in the room. Not sure what it was, but the room had a very strong disinfectant type smell that I found very unpleasant. Enjoyed the afternoon sun by the small pool. Rooms along the road may be a bit noisy from traffic.

The room looked newly renovated and was spacious, clean, and very nice. We used the fridge, microwave, and kitchenette to eat breakfast in the room to save some dollars and calories. Like other places we stayed in the keys there were other guests around but no one was obnoxious or loud just friendly. Our room was not waterfront and therefore nothing really special but the bed was comfy so we were happy.

Old Florida hotel, 5 second walk to the water, super clean, lovely pool, nice water toy amenities, can snorkle from dock. It may not look fancy from the road but it’s an awesome place. We used laundromat across the street which was convenient and Publix is a 2 minute drive.

Nice hotel in a great location. Direct access in to the ocean and use of canoes, paddle boards and snorkel equipment is a real bonus. No on site dining but a good cafe a couple of minutes down the road. Parking is free and plentiful and the staff were friendly. Only improvements would be having cushions on the beach loungers, they’re solid wood and seriously uncomfortable. Also, not cleaning the room daily because of covid seems a poor excuse when every other hotel I’ve used in Florida does daily cleans.

Have stayed there several times, great location on the gulf side. Boat ramp and slips out back, fish off the dock, large waterfront area to hang out at. Room's ac systems need updating, bring a floor fan. Fun mom and pop type place. Front desk very pleasant and helpful.
