Average room was without hairdryer, microwave, or coffeepot,Refrigerator in room was unplugged and our food spoiled.Cord hidden behind refrig. Shower and sink used water governors.Beds were ok .Room smelled like air freshener .Continental breakfast had snack cakes, yogurts and trail bars.no fruit. Coffee and tea. But tea water was cold and needed to microwave it.and circuit breaker would blow if both(coffee urn and microwave ) used at same time, teenage girl at the desk was indifferent to our concern about getting a cup of hot water and finally got off her chair to fix circuit breaker..Beach area smaller than photo appearance. Adequate parking.Very poor WIFI signal.

For a weekend get away it was cute. The rooms are small and for 2 couples I would recommend getting separate rooms. The 2 beds were full which made for a tough sleep. The room's refrigerator never got cold, so I am glad we had a large cooler still full of ice. There is no microwave and no hair dryer so keep that in mind when you book. On the plus side, the beach is steps from your room. There are nice tiki huts to sit under with nice chairs to lounge in. There is a pool which was nice if you were tired of being so salty. Havana Jack's restaurant is close by and the Cabana Club allows you to get cocktails and snacks as well. Not a bad spot if you are looking for a bargain.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and cleaning staff was fantastic. The only horrible thing I can say about key colony beach motel was that the Wi-Fi was non existant. Whenever I need to use my cell phone I had to go to the office. They need to fix this for a better rating

Came for 5 nights with my mom, for our birthdays. The room was a good size, with a larger fridge than we expected. This was great for storing our drinks, snacks (cheese, crackers, salami, etc). The beds were comfortable and clean, and pillows were very fluffy and comfy (and extra pillows in the closet). Staff came every day and cleaned and provided fresh towels, and pool towels. The room and grounds were all very clean and well maintained. It’s a bit of an older motel but doesn’t feel run down or dated. The pool area was nice, but admittedly we didn’t even get in the pool as we swam the beach instead… there were two big cabanas and ample seating for all guests to enjoy the beach on the property. 20 loungers or so in the white sand, (all brand new by the looks of them) plenty of tables and chairs, Adirondack chairs and rocking chairs. Beach was clean and water was clear and clean. Some sea grasses on the shore each day due to the grasses that line the sea about 20 feet out. They rake and remove it daily though, and it didn’t bother us one bit. Clear white sand into the water, great beach/ocean access. Beach is protected by two small jetties on either side which makes it great for swimming and playing in the calm water (good for kids). Frequently saw dolphins right off the shore. Private club next door offers take out to motel residents which is handy. Also, Jack’s, two doors down has live music over the weekends and was a nice place to wind down with some drinks/apps/live music after a day of adventures. We ended up staying our first night in Miami due to late flights In, and the owner was very helpful and nice, calling to check on us and confirm our check in day/time. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Feels like a true family run place, very comfortable. From here we had easy access to the northern keys and southern keys, sights and attractions with ease. We appreciated that it was centrally located and made a great home base for our adventures. Would recommend and stay again.

Arrived at motel a day late due to a canceled flight. I had called the motel to let them know my flight was canceled and I would be arriving late. Asked the front desk for any kind of discount due to circumstances beyond my control. I was advised my request would be given to manager and she would call me back. Did not receive a call from manager. When inquiring again, I was told that I would receive a $50 refund. When checking out, I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was running errands. My print out shows a charge of $50 and a refund of $50. I asked for the manager's name, was told her name was Marissa. I asked to speak for upper managements

My husband and I are on vacation and we have key-hopped all the way to Key West and back and this hotel is our favorite.... what you see in the pictures is actually what you get....you walk around the back on you are literally on the beach with palm trees and sunbathing chairs plus a nice pool that is like 10-15 feet from the beach water depending on the rides..wow!. My room was clean and comfortable, the hotel and lobby are in very good shape, the staff is friendly like they are glad you are there, there is a laundry room. It's quiet and safe. A real gem I won't forget.

Suite room was great! Needed another pillow for futon. Seaweed was in so no beach swimming...bummer. tiki huts great to just relax and enjoy the view. No coffeemaker in room, so bring a single cup brewer! Bring clips to hold back curtain so the AC doesn't blow under it.

The motel rooms are clean and steps to the beach. This is a great little place however currently the construction next door begins @ 7:15 am and ends at sundown 7:30 pm so 12 hrs of nonstop noise, so if you're looking for a little
R&R onsight, this is not the place. Our trip here canceled last March due to the covid shutdown so we've been looking forward to this March for a year... to say we were disappointed is an understatement. Definately avoid the right side of the hotel (odd side). We asked to be moved to the other side of the building however nothing was available.

Booked for 1 night to check out the area as we are heading on a cruise and wanted to be out of Ft Lauderdale.

The price is high for the quality. The room was clean, the plastic is still on the lamps…and staff friendly.

The motel is dated, the walls and ceiling are paper thin, so we could hear everything the people around and above us said. It was very loud with guests not observing quiet hours. The wall plugs didn’t all work and the ceiling is painted plywood.

The decor has not been upgraded, there were only 3 pillows for 2 people and those were flat. The AC was very loud, making it difficult to sleep.

This hotel should be avoided if you are looking for value for money and a quiet nights sleep.

I needed to collect my thoughts about our stay at this place. We stayed for 3 nights. This place is a step up from being a dump. This room was below par when considering it had no phone, no clock and no coffee maker. The exterior was a bit beat up and the house keeping cart was left out on the cat walk and two doors down from our room. No lite breakfast was available and parking was tight. We had a few roaches in our room and when we told the clerk at our check out it didn’t faze her.

The only thing it had going for it was it has about 35 yds of ocean beach and a decent pool. It was about 1/2 mi. south of US 1, on the ocean and close to a few good restaurants (Sparky Landing & castaway Water Front Restaurant).

Never again will we stay at this roach motel.

Praying no one was hurt & safe. Saw the video your Mayor of Colony Key Beach did a short video of the area. I was so heart broken for you all. Just there 2 mos ago & couldn't believe the devastation. Our prayers are with you as you rebuild. Especially to my new friends @ Colony Key Beach Hotel.❤️
