The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale stands out for its prime location, a hit with guests for its beach proximity and suitability for special occasions. While the hotel's amenities, such as the attentive beach and pool services, are often praised, some guests feel these are overpriced and the pool is on the smaller side. Room opinions are divided; they are generally found to be clean with lovely views, but noise can be an issue and some lack a sense of luxury.
The atmosphere and service have garnered mixed reviews, with cleanliness being a consistent positive note, yet some guests find the decor dated and the service occasionally lacking. The value of the hotel experience is also a point of contention, with some guests feeling the cost is justified, while others do not.

I stayed one night at the Ritz Carlton in Ft Lauderdale because I was in town for work. I had enough Marriott Bonvoy points to treat myself so I picked the best hotel available. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated and everyone was so friendly. I was tired from traveling so I ordered room service and the food was delicious. Even the chocolate chip cookies were warm! I walked to the pool area to take in the incredible views. The pool is on the 7 floor so there is very little noise coming from the busy road (A1A). The bed linens were high quality and I slept well because the rooms seem well insulated from inside and outside noise. I would definitely stay at this hotel again next time I am in Ft Lauderdale

Stellar stay in absolutely every. single. way!! My husband and I visited for our 25th wedding anniversary; a quick, 4 day getaway in the middle of a very busy summer. From the second we arrived, it was top-notch attention on every level. We had an early flight in and the front desk found a room for us— we were prepared to wait, but we didn’t have to. The rooms are newly re-done and are supremely clean and very comfortable. Bed was amazing! At the pool, Jimmy and Jonathan took such good care getting chaise’s ready and towels, waters. Cristina and MacKenson made certain we were never without iced teas, Coke or cocktails and food anytime we were at the pool. The fellows on the beach had towels and umbrellas and chaises ready for us when we visited the beach. I’d especially like to call out the incredible staff at the restaurant on site, Burlock Coast. Laro~ my favorite server, started our days off with his wonderful smile and coffees, breakfast… his dedication to customers was clear. The bartenders at the bar, Michael and his coworkers were so fun and engaging, taking great care crafting gorgeous drinks. All I can say is you get what you pay for— seriously. We felt pampered and cared for from the SECOND we stepped into the property. The Ritz Carlton Ft Lauderdale has earned two very discerning, well-travelled customers with their actually perfect attention to details. We look forward to visiting again next year. Thank you.

From arrival to departure this hotel and the service checks all the boxes. 6pm Sunday check in for 5 night stay 9th floor ocean front room was not huge but since we used the balcony a lot the interior space wasn’t an issue. Champagne and snack left along with note on check in, King room very clean, floors mopped and everything worked but had TV issues. Have to point out the balcony and chairs are noticeably clean. Housekeeping great, they come 2 times a day and turndown includes replacing towels and emptying trash. We had club lounge access on 8th floor staff is excellent, food and snacks good plus plenty of free alcohol. We ordered dinner from Burlock Coast and wanted it delivered to club lounge, but concierge insisted on picking it up and then went to the trouble of setting it up for us. Pool attendant’s on 7th floor and valet parkers know all the guest names and again you get first rate service. For dinner try Louie Bossi, Kelly’s Landing, Luigi’s Tuscan Grill and don’t miss Tropical Acres Steakhouse. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

When we pulled up there were no valet there to greet us after several minutes a couple came out this is not normal for Ritz Carlton as we’ve been to many throughout the US. We get to our room and it’s mediocre again not the norm for a Ritz property. After turning in for the night we hear this loud drip coming from out air unit the carpet is all wet from the unit and our Toilet was filling and flushing on its own! I called the front desk the next day and they said they would send maintenance up we went to the pool I came back up to get something several hours later and they fixed the air but the toilet was still flushing on its own so I called again and they said they would send someone again. I went back down to the pool! We came back up later that day and the maintenance person tracked what looked like feces (assuming dog) through our bathroom floor and on our bath rug (pictures below) completely disgusted I go downstairs talk to the manager about all our issues and she offers us a new room OR Bonvoy points and a $300 credit! Honestly we should have been given a new upgraded room and a credit in my opinion! The bed was very hard and our pillows were very flat not comfortable at all! The ONE pool they have is small and over crowded with kids so if you are going for relaxation do not recommend this property for that! The kids took over the pool with toys throwing balls everywhere and splashing all over disrespectful! Went to take a bath and the bath water was green yes green (pictures below) I called the front desk and they said this is normal Fort Lauderdale water because their water comes from the Everglades 🤔 I said then why was my sink, toilet and shower water clear? Did not make sense! we have been to Fort Lauderdale many times at other properties and never seen this before! We also have friends that live in Fort Lauderdale and they said that’s not Normal!

My fault for not doing more research. The beach, across the major road, is a public beach. Public beaches in Florida are not as well maintained as private beaches. If a property is across the road from the beach, i.e. Atlantic side of the state, homeless folks, etc. will be roaming the beach. Expect to find cigarette butts, syringes, bottles, cans, etc. in the sand. Beach food/beverage service is dicey due to the distance that the staff must travel over to the beach. Due to no additional land in the crowded Fort Lauderdale beach area, the pool deck is upper level on the 5th floor. The pool is small compared to other Ritz facilities. No true pool service as the space is too small to accommodate large umbrellas.
I can honestly state that the location is great for minimizing food and beverage costs. We did not eat or drink at the hotel due to the large number of facilities immediately adjacent to the property.
I must also give a shout out to the valet crew, who saved us from a major financial embarrassment. We took a cab from the airport to the hotel. Said cab had a credit card reader and we assumed that the cab took credit cards. Wrong. The cabbie shook us down for the fee. We only travel with sufficient cash for hotel tips. A valet fronted us the cab fee. I found an ATM and repaid him. My message: avoid cabs unless you are carrying good amounts of cash.

Marriott Bonvoy Gold elite member visiting area for football game and booked two rooms using points. At check in inquired about a possible room upgrade along with one night extension and was told I could upgrade to a small one bedroom condo unit for $500 per night. This seemed like a pretty hefty price to pay for the upgrade along with 60000 points per night ( often upgraded for less or no charge ) but thought that since they were doing the extra night extension for $500 I would agree to pay. Sadly the day we thought we had extended our stay , they locked us out of our room while at pool and the staff at front were not interested in making any effort to resolve. Desk clerk who checked us in not there that day and staff working basically told us we could pay $1200 a night for our current room or move out.
Move out we did. Hotel not sold out and no effort to find us a room for $500 a night. Just plain not interested. Certainly not the Ritz Carlton experience they’ve made their name on , Clerical mistakes made by front desk staff are understandable, making zero attempt to keep a customer in a $500 night room when hotel advertising multiple vacancies is just bad business.

Dear Terence B., Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I’m deeply sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your recent stay. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide, and I understand how disappointing this experience must have been. It’s concerning to hear about the miscommunication and lack of support you received regarding your room extension and upgrade. Our goal is always to make sure our guests feel valued and well taken care of, and it seems we fell short in this instance. I will be addressing this situation with our team to ensure such issues are handled more effectively in the future. Regarding the room upgrade and the issues with your extended stay, it’s clear that we didn’t meet your expectations, and for that, I sincerely apologize. I understand your frustration with the pricing and the lack of effort to find a suitable resolution. This is not reflective of the high standards we aim to uphold. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our service.

I don't know if it's all Ritz hotels or just this one, but I can tell Marriot now owns it because the amenities and level of customer service felt like a time share after you've declined the pitch. Small pool area with loud, awful music; only one restaurant with a limited menu; spa pushes add ons to your mediocre, over-priced massage like a used car dealership and rushes you out of the room when it is over; rooms lack basic amenities all 5 star hotels have like refrigerators and lighted magnified makeup mirrors; skeleton staff that spends a lot of time looking busy but not actually helping customers. And the beach! Gross, even for Florida. I paid $200 for a cabana on the beach that did not have food or drink service. Smokers, loud music, open containers - all illegal, even in Florida - but no one policing it. No Ritz employees doing anything to make the experience pleasant. Mini bar in room had items that were not on QR menu and were dusty, stale, expensive and disgusting. And of course, there is no General Manager or Customer Service department at this Ritz. In fact, I couldn't find any customer service or complaint procedures anywhere online at all. And I'm sure no one will respond to this message or contact me.

I have stayed in various Ritz Carlton hotels and this one is not up to snuff but especially in terms of my experience this past weekend. This is not a resort -- it is a hotel with a pool and a bridge to the beach for access. The pool looks a little tired and the beach access is nice.
The major fault was that they decided to host a wedding this weekend at the pool level which closed the pool to hotel guests on Saturday afternoon. Now let me remind you that this is South Florida so going swimming in the pool on a Saturday is pretty predictable. Plus, I paid a resort fee to use the resort. No notice to hotel guests at all and to make it even more frustrating I had driven from the Astros Game in Palm Beach back to the hotel and looking forward to a swim after sitting in the heat at the game. The woman from the hotel was rude as well.
Aside from that unpleasant surprise here were a few other tidbits that were subpar. First, I was at the pool on Friday from about 3:00 to 5:00 and no waitstaff ever came to see if we wanted a cocktail, snack or anything else. Second, I got a apple from the lobby (great apple) at it by the pool and then went to throw it away and the garbage can right by the desk at the pool was overflowing in garbage. I put the apple on top of the can and it just sat there. Third, they use an electronic valet app to get you car but they must not really monitor it because each time I went to get my car I still had to tell the valet to get it when I went to retrieve it. My last complaint is minor but the refrigerator in Room 1116 is just sitting in the room and not within part of the furniture package. It just looks more like an Embassy Suite than a Ritz Carlton.
I will say that I paid decent money to stay here at $1500 a night so for that amount of money I don't think this is an unfair review. Ritz Carlton really dropped the ball here. Next time it will be Four Seasons for me.

We had such a great time staying at this amazing hotel. The room is very nice and very clean , beds , sheets and pillows rejuvenates your tired body after a day at the beach . Food is amazing and reasonably priced, amenities , beach lounge and shades was a big plus and the staff are very polite, accommodating and very professional. Will definitely stay here next time. Special thanks to Ruben who’s very attentive to things you might need while at the beach, Kevin and Daniela who has a smile ready for you that brings more positive vibes to your overall experience . Will definitely recommend this place to friends from the Chicago and LA.

Definitely not 5 star to me, not really 4 either… It would appear that Valet scratched my car (hotels level of care/concern was a curt “transferring you to valet”)— they said yesterday only could help today after i checked out… will follow up, Also- very very noisy room because of extremely thin walls and odd balcony set up. Was in beachfront balcony… you share balcony with whoever is next door— a piece canvas (?) separates the balconies. It’s only an issue if there is noise next door and oh there was… kids next door and also heard them through the bizarrely thin walls. Anyone in the hall could be heard as well. All night. Also felt more family oriented than business (no desk in room)…but the only pro was a great sized bathroom. Oh I wanted to like it, but sadly a pass.
