Tripadvisor gives a Travellers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
Every Stay is a Story Worth Sharing. The newly renovated Seagate is the only resort in Delray offering guests exclusive access to a private beach with new beachfront dining, Atlantic Avenue's most spacious guestrooms, a championship golf course, full-service spa, two swimming pools, and the all-new Bourbon Steak by Michelin starred chef Michel Mina, opening March 2025.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

The Seagate Hotel delights many with its prime location and exceptional cleanliness, with guests often describing the property as immaculate. While some travelers appreciate the newly renovated rooms and the hotel's aesthetic, others find the decor charmless post-renovation and report outdated amenities. The staff's warm and attentive service, including a praised shuttle service, stands out.
However, noise from construction and the road is a common complaint. Despite the beach club and unique amenities like a happy hour bar cart, several guests question the value due to the high costs amidst ongoing renovations.

Went to this hotel, expecting a great experience considering the location and the price point, but what we got instead was truly unexpected. The level of hospitality warmth, and overall welcomeness of each and every single staff member was off the charts some thing out of a Disney vacation. Murray at the front desk went above and beyond for us every single day, suggesting the best restaurants and points of interest and making specific recommendations to us to enhance our experience based on our preferences. By just the second day, Murray knew us by name.
While the beach club is a three minute car ride from the hotel, we always chose to walk since it was not very far at all and since everything we needed was already there for us. No need to schlep chairs or lunch or umbrellas. It’s all there waiting for you once you arrive. Lunch at the beach club was always delicious as were the mixed drinks and can easily be charged to your room. I don’t know if the pool was heated, but it was warm and inviting. The warm white sand of the beach was spotless and there was always someone waiting to take your drink or lunch order.
Our spa services were completely on point. I arrived with a chemical burn on my chin, which, in a less experienced aestheticians hands, might have been made worse however, I was in the hands of Joanie and by the time my appointment was over my skin was practically healed. Two days later my husband got a sports massage and this 4 foot 10 woman was able to work him over and ease his overworked muscles.
Eddie at the valet station, always greeted us with a warm hello and wished us a great night out every single time we arrived and left
Christian the bar tender was serving us our “usuals” by the second day.
If you stay on a Thursday or Friday, you might get visited by Robert and his bar cart for complementary in room custom drinks. When I heard the knock at the door and saw a bar cart I thought there was a mistake since I had not ordered anything but Robert told me it was complements of the hotel and he could make anything I liked. I didn’t have anything in mind, but I thought some Prosecco might be nice. He made me a custom drink With Prosecco, some lime juice and ginger beer. It was delicious. . I have never been to a hotel where I know the staff by name after just a few days but I will definitely go be going back to my friends, Murray, Joanie Robert Christian and Eddie. Hope to see you all soon!!!

We ended a 3 week road trip in Delray Beach at the Seagate Hotel after driving nearly 2000 miles for some well needed rest and relaxation and time with our family who accompanied us. From arrival we were immediately immersed into the Seagate care and attention and felt pampered until the end of our stay. The large and comfortable rooms were well serviced daily and left nothing unattended to. Our days were spent at the beach club. In spite of this being very busy for the 4th July holiday we were always greeted by the friendly team over there who provided us with clean towels, and shaded beach beds. The light meals served by the pool were also just what was needed. On our last day we had to prepare for our 30 hour journey back home to Mauritius and appreciated to assistance received from Murray at the front desk for a late check out. I would certainly return to the Seagate Hotel if ever my travel plans bring me back to that part of Florida.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed in (5 star, 4 star or 3 star). Hotel is dysfunctional. Knowingly they had faulty shower head which they can't repair they still went ahead and let the room be used by guests. Their manger's solution was to use the SPA showers (from 10am-6pm) - first I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't. That was his solution.
Cleaning staff are also poorly trained or unmotivated. No attention to detail as you would expect in a 5 star property. You would have to call the front desk multiples times to get these "orders" put in just to get basic cleaning/towels/trash pick to get done. It never gets done correctly the first time. It takes 4-5 attempts to get your room semi cleaned.
You have to stay on top of everything here, they will never follow up on any issue. The manager himself told me he would get back to me on the shower issue, nothing.
I really think they are deceiving the public to call this a 5 star hotel. It should be reclassified as a 3 star.

Beware of the ceramic coffee mugs in the room. They are rinsed in the bathroom sink by housekeeping and placed back on the counter for reuse. DISGUSTING! Also a 20% gratuity charge is automatically added but not mentioned. The location is great though.

Dear Anne60614, Thank you for your feedback. Cleanliness is a top priority for us, and we want to assure you that all glassware and coffee mugs in guest rooms are properly sanitized. We have dishwashers on every floor, and all glassware is fully replaced after each use—never just rinsed in the sink. We take this process very seriously to ensure the highest hygiene standards.

The facility is lovely. Our room was great and the beach club was very nice. Had the potential for a great stay but when we checked in on 11/30 it said that the pool at the hotel was closed until 11/30. It never opened before we checked out on 12/3. We understand that the Beach club was open but much preferred to have the availability of the hotel pool rather than taking a shuttle to the beach club. The bigger problem was that the main restaurant was closed and the only available restaurant was a glorified snack bar. After eating there the first day we determined it would be necessary to eat breakfast out on the remaining days. Because we had a $60 daily credit for food from our Capitol One booking we used that toward 6 small bottles of juice each morning. We brought the juice up to the cashier from the cooler, she rung it up and gave us a bag to put the juice in. For that service we paid a $12 service charge per day ( they charged an automatic 20% tip). On our last day there, a large group that was staying there had a breakfast buffet set up for them. It was evident that with a little more planning they could have had a breakfast buffet set up daily. Before leaving, a 'lobby ambassador ' suggested we speak to the restaurant manager. We left our cell number and we were told that the restaurant manager was unavailable and we asked to speak to the manager on duty and we were told that Anton Rolle would call us back. That was Tuesday. It's now Friday. We're still waiting. Poor customer service.

Response from Alex Crossman, General Manager at The Seagate
The rooms are dated - dark and dinged up. We stayed on the east side on the second floor in a deluxe king, and the balcony for this room is terrible as the it has a half wall as opposed to a railing, thus when sitting you stare into a wall. A room renovation is overdue. In comparison, take a look at the newly renovated rooms at the Opal Resort across the street where rates are similar.
They advertise having a lap pool; however, I would describe it as a long narrow pool without any lane marking. Also, when we were there the water was well over 90 degrees making lap swimming a challenge. They also don't have any umbrellas poolside.
We found the beach club to very nice and with a very friendly staff. The pool was clean, and the poolside food was good. The beach is also very nice with plenty of umbrellas and lounges. Note that the beach club is also a private club for members who live locally. We walked to the beach club although they do have a couple of cars that will shuttle you there. We did not visit the country club.
With the exception of the front-desk attendant, we found most of the staff to be warm and friendly.
We did not dine at the Atlantic Grille but did have drinks on the deck overlooking Atlantic Ave. They have a happy hour daily from 3 - 5 PM but limit the 50% off special to specific wines and drinks. For example, if you wanted a gin and tonic as opposed to one of their special drinks, you'd need to pay full price at happy hour.
We had breakfast in the cafe once and it was okay and much more expensive than other offerings nearby. For example, the cafe charges $8 for a cup of coffee but on the other hand you can buy a beer for $7.
The location is great as you are close to the beach yet can walk to the restaurants on Atlantic Ave.
WIFI on the property worked well.

This hotel has a great location and maybe if they overhaul their operations once the hotel is done with renovation it can be a gem again. Until then- DO NOT GO. The details are too tedious to even fully recount. I believe the staff here is so accustomed to lying to customers that they can't even identify them as falsehoods anymore. They say what people want to hear and then shrug when it turns out to be wholly untrue. I booked this trip in Feb through Amex. Forget room upgrades (they said they didn't have any, which is OK) they gave us what the front desk person acknowledged was "the worst room in this hotel". It was an interior king which is OK, that's what we booked, but it had a sliver of window and a giant wall covered by a curtain to give the illusion that it was a window. I had called the week before to ask about upgrades, and at least explain that we were mothers of special needs children who had been planning a quick respite weekend away for years, because that's how long it took to make it happen. We were rewarded with the worst room in the hotel. On Day 2 we were offered a room upgrade for both rooms to their newly renovated floor, which was great. We were told to go pack up and call for the bellman when ready . We subsequently received a phone call from Anton, a very surly manager who informed me that the front desk had no authority to move our rooms, and only one room could be moved and not to the renovated floor. The false promises were exhausting. How does the front desk person not have the authority to upgrade rooms? While we knew there were no amenities at the hotel due to the renovation, we were told that the beach club was fully functional- including the restaurant. This is false, it is closed. We were also told the beach club was open until 6p but our beach umbrellas were plucked from over our heads at 4:58 (no, there was no wind). We were given the not so subtle message to leave. We made the best of it and loved our time away as friends but this hotel (other than location) could not be worse. We asked to speak to Giselle, the head manager. We met the head of IT who texted Giselle that we needed assistance. We never heard from Giselle- who knows if she is real or a figment of their collective imagination. The bright spot was Paolo who came around with a small mini-bar to offer drinks seemingly so we would forget our dissatisfaction. Mimosa was nice, but didn't work. I've already taken it up with AMEX who says it may take some time to resolve- but no way should this hotel (in its current condition) be an amex fine hotel.

Dear Talia, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and are truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We understand that you were looking for an upgrade to accommodate your needs, and we apologize for any confusion during your check-in process. While we do offer complimentary upgrades based on availability at check-in for AMEX guests, we were fully committed at the time of your arrival. We regret that we could not fulfill your request for a room with two beds. We’re pleased to hear that we were able to upgrade one of your rooms, two tiers up, to a Deluxe King for the second night and provide a rollaway bed at no extra charge each night, along with complimentary drinks during your stay. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the limited amenities due to renovations, including the beach club restaurant which we communicated during the pre-arrival process and at the time of booking. Your comments regarding communication with our staff have been noted. We strive for transparency, and this is certainly not the level of service that we pride ourselves on. Thank you for highlighting Paolo’s efforts to make your stay more enjoyable. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, where we can provide you with the exceptional experience and service we’re known for. Yours in Hospitality, Giselle de la Vega Director of Front Office

Stayed one night at the end of our walk along the coast. Michelle worked hard at finding us a larger room, we moved to a suite which was very large with extra large bathroom and modern shower, great towels. Comfortable bed, hotel very quiet at night. The rooms are located in a separate building so there is no need to worry about possible noise coming the pub. Highly recommend it.

We’ve been frequent guests at the Seagate Hotel & Spa for many years. It offers a welcome chance to relax, rejuvenate and renew body, spirit and soul. The prime location on the Treasure Coast provides wonderful weather, welcome tropical breezes and world class beaches. It sits about two blocks from one of the highest rated public beaches in the US. The hotel offers free shuttle service to locations within a three mile radius, including their private Beach Club where you may choose to lounge by the salt water pool or venture a few footsteps to the beach. Beverage service is provided to guests of the hotel. There are plenty of chaise lounges, umbrellas and cabanas to accommodate those wanting a pure oceanside experience… sound of the surf, refreshing seaside air and serenity of the beach. We often read a book, stroll the sands searching for shells or just enjoy the moment taking in the sights and sounds of nature. We usually lunch at the Beach Club restaurant that offers a full compliment of fresh salads, seafood, sandwiches or burgers. The hotel accommodations are spacious, immaculately clean and well appointed. Linens and towels are top grade - comfortable elegance. Whether a visit for families, friends, couples or business retreats, the Seagate fits the bill. Delray features a marvelous choice of fine restaurants, Art Galleries and terrific shopping. One can merely stroll Atlantic Avenue or make a turn into the Grove to find both established and new places to grab a gelato, or a meal at a different spot every day. We have our favorites, but are eager to try the latest openings. The beauty of the Seagate lies not simply in its location and physical offerings - a Spa, two salt water pools, the Atlantic Grill, Etc cafe, the Gym, the Beach Club, a Championship Golf Course, Tennis facilities, a Yacht Club, but the incredible staff that make it such a special place. Their mission is to ensure each and every guest has a fun, relaxing, memorable stay. They continue to both meet and exceed our highest expectations. The Seagate is our haven in an increasingly stress filled world.

Almost positive you need to have a membership - we were looking at real estate within seagate & even if tough live there , you can’t golf unless you pay the $100k/ year plus initiation fee. Again, almost positive if we are talking about the same course :)
