Great stay! This place is really amazing and big, which gives you a spatial feeling. Rooms are big, luxury and great comfort. Even a bath! Outdoor in the trees you’ll find the colobus monkey and others. Also hornbills fly around in the area. The food is great and wifi also. Freshly maked products, we recommend the salad bar. The stay is perfect for relaxing. The bar vibe is great, although the board for darts is used and should be replaced ;) The onlt downside is that the place is quite pricey, and staff is friendly but a bit formal.
We had a late flight and were concerned about getting dinner. They kept the restaurant open late until all guests were fed, even those arriving after us. Food was good and prices very reasonable. Service was excellent. Left the next morning, so didn't have much more of an experience.
We choose Rivertrees as a place to stay as part of our transit from the UK to the Serengetti. On arrival (which was quite late in the evenong) we were welcomed by a host who explained about how the hotel operated and gave us a complimentary soft drink which was much appreciated after the long day spent flying to get from Newcastle via Amsterdam. We were shown to our rooms which were like mini cottages and very well appointed. The evening meal was very tasty and breakfast was a mix of serve yourself and cooked to order. I had an omelette which was extremely tasty and I got to watch it cooked in front of me. We explored the grounds the morning after arrival and there was a lovely river walk where we observed monkeys in the trees and birds also flying around. A fantastic place to stay.…
A very nice and well maintained Lodge. The Lodge is located a bit offside the road which is very nice. The area of the Lodge is in a good shape and I neve had the feeling that I am in a place where I fell unsafe. The selection of the restaurant is very good and the meals are delicious. Since my first day I noted the very friendly and helpful members of the Lodge. Starting from the reception until the Restaurant I never had any complains. Thanks to the entire team of Rivertrees... I am sure If I will be back in this region I will stay here again.
We have been to Rivertrees many times and always loved it, however we have not been there since Covid (last time was Feb 2020), and this time the service, especially in the restaurant was pretty bad. Once time we waited +40 minutes for our waiter to bring us tea and coffee after our meal... we multiple times had to ask other waiters to bring us things we had ordered 10-15 minutes earlier. We also had guests and had reserved a table for a set time, but nothing had been setup and we kept having to go back and ask for basic services and menus again and again! The Pizza is still good, but the rest of the menu is not as good as it was years ago, seems that both Mangement team and kitchen has changed for the worse. Our room wasn't even made up when we returned in the evening twice and no turn-down service. And once, I ordered a car service and after waiting 10 minutes I went back and I had to order again. Later this year when we are going back, we plan on staying somewhere else. …
Arrived tired. Had an excellent large room / lodge which was very comfortable. Food good and service excellent. Good swimming pool and big grounds to explore with monkeys performing overhead is it Colbus monkeys with large white bushy tails who were most impressive ? Only there for 1 night
The place was beautiful but I was most impressed by the courteous and super helpful staff of the lodge . Each one helped me with my mobility issues. Pushed wheel on the gravel , carried my hand bag and cane , open doors for me , room service for food was excellent and each and everyone did it grace , kindness and a warm smile on their beautiful faces . It is the people of Africa that I will always remember with heartfelt gratitude for their kindness and going above and beyond duty to help me.
Excellent location close to Kilimanjaro airport, and highly recommend. Our villa with two connecting rooms was COOL and very comfortable. Even though our flight was later in the evening than expected, the staff courteously provided us with a late dinner-for which we were very grateful. And starting the next morning with the monkeys frolicking about was a fantastic way to start the trip! LOTS of options for food too, for families.
We stayed at Rivertrees Inn for two nights, after a long flight to recoup before our safari. An extremely nice place to start your African adventure! Big spacious rooms, very good food, very friendly service and great massage! Thank you again TrueAfrica Safaris for organizing an mazing trip for us!
We loved our 2 nights at Rivertrees and could have stayed longer! The staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were beautiful, the food was great....and the monkeys were such fun to watch! It was a perfect welcome to our African adventure!
