We just needed a night away after putting our beloved dog of 13 years down! We chose Day's Inn for the price and we had stayed there before. The room was clean and awesome the only problem I had was we arrived at 2:54pm to check in after driving from NH and the gentlemen said umh check in is at 3:00pm you can go sit by out pool and there are bathrooms there. So we sat in front of the lobby and saw other people go get checked in. Also I called the night before to see if they had coffee makers in the rooms and was told yes and there were not one, I would have brought my little one instead of having to drive to Dunkins. Also no ice bucket in rooms either! Otherwise great room and the beds were awesome! I finally got a great night sleep!

I would never stay in this hotel again. Went for a wedding and booked too late to stay at the Hilton and this was all I could find. Room smelled like smoke, and everything was worn out. Bed was comfortable though. A fire alarm went off before 8 am and everyone had to evacuate in the pouring rain. Hallway areas downright dirty. Didn’t even try the breakfast, was afraid to.

I want to start by saying the front desk staff was very polite and doing the best they could. I am sure the pandemic has left many hotels scrambling to make up their loss of money. However, this was not a happy stay for me and my family. The room was very run down and in need of updating. Everything was very worn and dirty. The final straw was when my 1 year old found a bag of syringes. I do not care if they were for an insulin patient or a iv drug user, that is not okay. Luckily he brought them to me and did not injure himself. I did not expect a luxurious stay, as long as it was clean and safe. Clean and safe it was not. I would not stay here again. I brought the syringes to the front desk and the clerk seemed as surprised as me. Again they were very kind and I do not blame them for the shape this place is in. Hoping it gets better.

I was highly disappointed with my stay and will NOT be recommending the Days Inn. We travel a lot and I have never left a bad review until now. Many small things like two ice machines being broken down, our refrigerator did NOT WORK, vending machine took my money with out giving me my candy, hallways has no ac, but what really got me was the awful service from house keeping. First we were told they are not allowed to clean daily. Must be a personal policy because the best western cleaned our rooms daily when we stayed last month and they used a Covid disinfectant to clean as well. So we are told leave our garbage outside and the house keepers will pick it up and bring us new towels as needed. Our garbage say there for two days !! And getting more towels was a nightmare the first time we were told they were out of towels HOW ARE YOU OUT OF TOWELS. Well apparently the house keepers had all of the towels.. then later on we try again, the best he can do is two big towels and two wash clothes. Pretty crappy when there is three of us! Then the next day we try calling for towels, since the house keepers have them all maybe they can bring us some.. nope! Never came by to drop towels off or pick up our garbage. Besides this when we first arrived the employee who works the front desk had parked his car in the “check In spot” so we couldn’t pull up to atleast take our luggage out to the one elevator, he told us to go to door two and we had to drag our luggage up the stairs. People who did pull behind him thinking someone was just checking in and would be out, got their car stuck behind the person behind them pulling up to do the same thing. The final issue was the refrigerator. We came to Mystic to go to the ocean so ice and keeping our waters cold are a must. We had turned the refrigerator to every temp possible before calling and gave it hours to make sure it wasn’t just “cooling down” I called and was told his shift was about to end and to speak with the person coming in on the next shift; which I did and I was told they are all like that.. all broken ??? Why advertise you have a refrigerator if it doesn’t work ?! I wasn’t expecting a 5 star place, I travel alot and have a good idea what to expect, and that was the worse experience I have ever had staying somewhere. I will be sharing my experience so people don’t waste their money.

The room was recently updated and was clean and well appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful, even calling my room to let me know a fresh pot of coffee was available. Hotel is in a good location, close to Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mistick Village.
