Everything is okay except they don't have television in the room. The breakfast serve is superb 😊 All the workers & receptionist are very friendly toward us. My friends & I enjoyed our stay at askani. Really recommend to stay at here.

The island is not very tourist friendly therefore not the best choice in Maldives. There is only one little bikini beach, one restaurant with the slowest service ever, otherwise there is a lot of dirt on the island, poor services, dead coral gardens and very few fish and marine life.

We had a lovely time in Thulusdoo in this guesthouse. The place is very very quite, the A/C works well and also the Wi/Fi. The rooms are big and clean. The outside bathroom is gorgeous until you discover that without repellent for flies make a shower can be disappointing! By the way is the only thing that I would not define perfect in our vacations... The breakfast is good, with eggs, bread fruit and marmelade. The garden outside is very nice. Everyone works to make you feel comfortable, they can organize you trips around the island, snorkel cruise. Also they accept credit card (I think they are the only one in the island) and this was the plus that make us decide for this place. We where arriving from a two weeks trip in Sri Lanka and we can't bring so much cash from Italy, so credit card payment was really the best choice.

Very friendly and nice staff. A/C, free (not epic but it works) wifi, closet, minifridge, private shower & bathroom in every room. Nice, quiet, and chill front area to sit, read, relax, or hang with friends. There are three main cafes on the island that all sell curry and local treats. So worth it to pay very little for tasty local meals, to walk and explore the island, and to meet other tourists and locals rather than spending $10+ per meal at the other guest houses. Only suggestion for Askani is to tell the staff when you would like breakfast each morning, or else you could be waiting till 11 for them to show up and make you breakfast. Overall, such a great value, and you get a lot for what you pay for. If you want an awesome and AFFORDABLE time in the Maldives, this is the place to stay!

Askani was an absolutely lovely little guest house on a beautiful local island. From the moment we arrived in Male we were looked after exceptionally well. The speed boat we had organised (while expensive) was parked awaiting our arrival and we were greeted and assisted by a representative that spotted us out of a crowd of other arriving tourists. Upon arriving at the island, we were greeted by a truck that took us and our luggage the mere couple of hundred metres to the guest house. The whole arrival experience was orchestrated in a fashion that you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Ampay (our host) was polite, helpful and hospitable. He organised our tours, breakfast, walked us to the (only) restaurant on our first night so we wouldn't get lost on the way, despite it being literally around the corner. Thulusdhoo itself is a beautiful Island with a world class surf break. The locals were friendly, the water was pristine and the general atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. If I have to list some negatives or things to beware of they are as follows: -As the island is quite new to tourism, there is not a lot for you to do on the island itself so if you are looking for adventure you will have to book day trips or tours which can be a little expensive (between 15-80 usd per person depending on the tour) - As it is a local island, there is a little bit of litter around the place. It is not a resort island, so I had been warned on trip advisor about this and really found it to be minimal. - Ladies, if you are looking to prance around in your bikini and a sarong your entire holiday, think again. It's definitely worth looking into the religion and culture of Maldivian local islands before you book. I dressed fairly conservatively for a beach holiday but was still able to sun bathe in a bikini at the bikini beach which was stunning. Overall, an amazing experience staying in a local Island and hosted by an amazing guest house! We would holiday there again very happily!!!

I was able to book this guesthouse because of a flash deal in Agoda. It is good value for money but do not expect hotel facilities because this is a guesthouse. After all, you're not going to spend most of your time in your accommodation, right? It has the basic facilities enough to keep guests comfortable like a tv, fridge, hair dryer, hot shower, aircon, ceiling fan, cabinet with hangers, a dresser with mirror, towels, a big bottle of water, and some extra toilet paper. They don't provide toiletries though, so good thing I brought my own. You can also buy your own stuff from the local stores near the Jetty. The bed is comfortable enough for a good night sleep. My room is not soundproof and I can hear people talking from the common area but that doesn't bother me anyway. There is a direct ferry (Tharika-2) that goes to Thulusdhoo from Male daily. It leaves Male at 3:30PM but you have to be there early. The ride takes about 1.5 hours. Otherwise, take the government ferry that make stops on a few islands before reaching Thulusdhoo. They serve basic breakfast everyday of toasts, butter, jam, egg, two sausages, slices of apples, orange, and drinks: a big bottle of water, coffee, and juice. Unfortunately, it is same breakfast everyday except that on my last day, there is no sausage on my plate anymore. Maybe they ran out of sausages? Note that they don't serve lunch or dinner so you have to eat somewhere else. There are only few restaurants in Thulusdhoo. They can be found near the jetty and some other guesthouses near the beach area. I commend the staff of Askani for their excellent service! Lishan was quick to respond in emails. Taki and Anpe were kind and helpful in arranging my daily activities. Taki even helped me find a restaurant to order my dinner and also helped me take the alternative route back to Male when the direct ferry ran out of tickets. He introduced me to Shaheem who accompanied me from Thulusdhoo to Male. Also thanks to the boatman Ana for taking me to my daily excursions. Such beautiful places! Overall, Thank you to all the wonderful people of Thulusdhoo for making my stay an enjoyable one! Because of you I have beautiful memories of Maldives. :)

We stayed 8 nights and found the room spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff greeted us at the ferry with a truck for us and our bags. This was welcomed as the streets are all packed sand. During our stay they arranged for boat trips to snorkel at different reefs and a visit to a nearby island. Taki & Anpe were very helpful and provided for all our needs. Ask if room 501 is available as it has a nice indoor/ outdoor bathroom.

Firstly, when you book Askani Thulusdhoo, don't except a hotel, there are none there, except one 5 storey building being built now. This is a guesthouse, or bed and breakfast, one of about 10 on the island. We stayed for 7 nights. The beauty of staying on an inhabited island, instead of an island resort is that you interact with the locals by eating at their restaurants, shopping at their outlets, and buying groceries at their supermarkets. Yes, there is one large supermarket at Thulusdhoo. Service: The booking process was pretty simple through Booking.com. However communication with the cruise maldives people was troublesome. Some messages took a few days to respond. My first direct enquiry with them to book rooms did not receive any response, it was only after I booked through booking.com that they began to answer my queires. Thaki, the manager of the 4 bedroom guesthouse met us at the ferry transfer point, in front ot the only Coca Cola factory. We walked to the guesthouse but on the return journey, he got a truck to pick up our luggage. Rooms are cleaned only on demand, you have to tell them when you want it. Together with Ahmed, the house keeper and the lady chef, the team of three met us regularly and answered all our queries on places to eat, snorkeling trips, dangers in the sea, visits to island resorts etc. Sleep Quality: The wooden frame beds with thick mattresses were very comfortable and good airconditioners allowed us to sleep very well. Quiet surroundings because there are few motorcycles, a couple of trucks, and one van, at last count. So not much road noise. Meals: Breakfast was eggs with toast, margarine and jam. We prefer the Maldivian breakfast of tuna with shredded coconut flesh, and thin roti (crepes). Did not eat other meals there. Facilities: LCD TV with satellite channels: CNN, BBC, HBO, Star World, kept us occupied during the rare times we were holed up in the room because of rain. Location: It's a 10 min walk to the Ferry point, and 5 min to the three beaches around this guesthouse. Lovely sandy beaches with clear water all round, Lots of coral reef fish and a single moray eel in the small lagoon in front of the beach.

We stayed at Askani Thulusdhoo for 4 nights. The best part of it was their staff are extremely friendly, welcoming. Askani is clean, well kept. Delicious Maldivian breakfast. Thulusdhoo is a great place for all kinds of visitors - experienced/beginners surfers or just enjoying the beautiful waves. You can also rent a stand up paddle board snorkels or a long board and explore the shallow lagoon filled with coral gardens and have a picnic at the sand bank too! Enjoy the beautiful sunsets from the jetty or from the sandbank.
