A wonderful and at the same time simple place to have a great stay in Thulusdhoo. Staff is there everytime you need them (plus they give you a slice of pizza gratis once a day!) and the hotel is ten meter from a private bikini beach (private, yes, but not isolated from the rest of the island). The rooms are clean and really nice, in a wood structure; beds are really comfortable. The breakfast is amazing and guests can book daily excursions to a lot of places (sand bank, snorkeling, corals, etc) for about 20$-30$. We did snorkeling and we really liked it: you have a person swimming with you (and the group of 6/8 people that go to the excursion) during the whole dive.
what we liked: tastefully decorated hotel and rooms, as shown in the pictures very nice hotel garden (as shown in pictures) next to the small but clean (bikini) beach house reef 50m from this beach with plenty of colourful fish (we did not see any turtles, sharks there, though). sandbank tour with snorkelling good value for money (30 USD, 2.5hours) free appetiser pizza during happy hour every evening. What could be improved: Hotel's bikini beach is nice and clean, but several motor boats anchored and frequently moving just in front of the beach disturb the ambient of what could be a perfect tropical beach. We found hotel breakfast in Maldives to be generally quite basic (in the 4 hotels we stayed on local islands), but for a hotel at this price level one can expect more choices than toast, jam, eggs, and sugary juice every morning. The hotel did not accept credit card, said they threw away their unreliable credit card reader, they are planning getting a new one. I paid some 25USD in bank charges to withdraw enough cash to pay for our stay. In a way I was still lucky to get enough cash from the island's only ATM before the machine ran out of money. Otherwise staff was friendly and helpful.…
The staff at IRU go above and beyond to make your stay easy and relaxing. As soon as we booked someone got in touch regarding our cot request and airport transfers. The island is only 30minutes by speed boat from the airport which is a plus too and someone from the guesthouse picks you up for the short ride to the hotel. the beach right in front of the guesthouse is small and secluded and swimmable in a bikini despite being on a local island. There are a few restaurants close by but the island itself has a lot of local charm. The rooms are clean and comfortable and everything you need is there. 100% recommend staying at IRU.
Booked Iru Maldives for a couple of relaxing days after backpacking trough Sri Lanka. The communication is very good and fast and the hosts and staff are so friendly! The food is amazing and for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was included and the pancakes were so yummy! The staff looks well after you, serves complementary water and Coca Cola and in the evening time a snack. The place is cozy, they have their own private beach in front of the guesthouse and the rooms are spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!
The rooms and location are both wonderful. Matteo the owner is very helpful in all communications and the staff were amazing , they were really helpful in accommodating all our needs and wishes and made our stay very special . The rooms are spotless and everything is new , very peaceful , they installed mosquito nets at our request though there weren’t many mosquitos thanks to the air conditioning . The food was great and plentiful . The private beach is beautiful , we saw dolphins , manta rays , lion fish and all sorts of sea life right in front of the guest house . We would certainly come back and stay again. Thank you 🙏Matteo and staff .
