Detailed Reviews
I have to say we were a bit disappointed in this Fairfield Inn property. They charge a $12 a day for parking in a non- secured open parking lot. They charge a $18+ a day tourism-leisure fee. Really? With these additional charges I'd expect a room where the drapes aren't ripped. They don't do daily room cleaning but are good about doing it if requested and bringing additional towels and coffee if needed. They might want to think about a trash run in the hallways every morning as many put their fast food trash piled outside of their room each night. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. With more than an hour left of their breakfast hours, they ran out of many items. And there's not a lot to choose from. Their staff does a good job keeping the tables clean after each use though. They have a good variety of snacks for purchase in the little market. All in all, I don't think I'd stay here again for the price they charged and we had a special rate.

The swimmingpool is a nightmare of dirty. You can neither use the pool nor the whirlpool. Rooms exposed on the site of the highway are very noisy by night. The lousy windows do not block the traffic noise. Complimentary breakfast offers yoghurt and warm sweets in an acceptable quality meanwhile the sandwiches and eggs 🥚 are unacceptable.

The free breakfast they advertise is coffee, juice and vending machine processed food. The Internet was terrible, the television in my room didn’t work very well and after one night the free Showtime channel vanished. The pool is small and the workout room is two treadmills and two elliptical machines and some weights. On a positive note the staff was pleasant, rooms were clean.

Although we were provided with a document regarding covid-19 cleaning protocols. The cleanliness of this hotel during covid-19, caused concerns for me.
The lobby was perfect, however, there was debris throughout the carpeted hallways (3rd floor). The housekeeping staff was on our floor cleaning rooms and did not to vacuum the carpet.
There was one wash cloth in our room. My husband went to the front desk at 9:00am to pick up our grab & go breakfast bags and request a second wash cloth. The front desk staff informed him there were no more clean wash clothes, they would wash some and bring one up to us. On his way back to the room, he stopped at both housekeeper’s carts on our floor to check to see if they had wash clothes, both said no.
I found a long strand of black hair on the bathroom counter, hair on the lid of the closed toilet, curly black hair in the sink and a piece of straight brown hair on the table in front of the sofa.
There was a large stain of what appeared to be grape jelly and oatmeal on the curtains.
There were no lightbulbs in the floor lamp and the bracket that secured one of hand rails in the shower was not attached to the wall.
Thank goodness I brought my own disinfecting wipes and spray and my own sheets. I understand there may be less staff and less cleaning, three days or longer stays at this location, but this was unacceptable on so many levels. We have stayed at this location on more than one occasion, however, we will not return to this location.

This used to be my go to hotel when it first opened in 2013, every single time I went to Orange County, I used to stay at this hotel. However, in my most recent visit, the quality of this hotel went completely downhill. First, the front staff are very rude, they seem to be very unaccomodating, we specifically said a mid hallway room in a higher floor and instead we were given a lower floor room and a corner room. The beds have all went downhill, the mattresses are now super springy and hard to sleep in. We were given a room next to the freeway, which was extremely loud and hard to sleep in at night. Next, the breakfast staff are very cheap and hardly ever refill breakfast for others to eat and there would always be long lines to get food in the morning. They also got more greedy since they now charge $12/night for parking, which is a charge that they never had before when it first opened. I don't think I will ever come back to this hotel the next time I come to Orange County.

This is, basically, a good place to stay. It is clean and the front desk staff is very nice and helpful. But, for the business traveler, there are two major drawbacks:
First, they have a later breakfast time on weekends than on weekdays, arguably, because they feel people there on weekends are there for leisure. Wrong. Some of us work on weekends and this hotel also gets a lot of sports teams that need to be up and out early. As a result, they don't put coffee out until 7 a.m. when the breakfast opens -- WAY too late for early risers. There should either always be coffee available like in some hotels or the coffee should at least by out by 6. If the restaurant folks aren't in until 6, they could make the coffee first thing and have it out by 6:10 or, better yet, the front desk could make a carafe that could be out by 6. Some of us have to work early and don't want to use the dirty coffee makers in the room.
Second, the internet station that prints doesn't work. The girl at the front desk said it has something to do with a bad wall internet connection and wanted me to email my document to her. I can't email random work documents to people at hotels. I need to print them directly from my email. So... either get an air printer that is connected wirelessly and skip the desktop altogether so people can print from their phones OR get the internet fixed on the desktop OR get a wireless USB internet device so the computer can connect wirelessly if the wall outlet doesn't work. Instead, they just disconnected the printer. We are paying for that service so it should be up and running.
These may be minor annoyances to recreational travelers but are major annoyances to people who are there for work. One final suggested improvement would be to make sure the pool is really closed and locked at 9 p.m. Unless you ask, this is not enforced and it is really noise with people partying down there until the late hours.

Hotel is clean rooms are big enough. Breakfast is not very good, if you stay longer you will eat the same every morning. They clean rooms only every third day so make sure to keep your towels dry. Ladies at the reception kind and helpful. Location is nor very good though, far from everywhere. If you have a car it’s ok but if not don’t go to this hotel. There are no shops or restaurants near

In my over a decade loyalty to Marriott, have I never been treated the way this hotel treated us. The GM Ryan Fitzpatrick and Front Desk Agent Susette Gonzales have totally ruined the Marriott brand! I was forced to pay a higher rate because I was a Veteran, and not considered a federal employee.
I booked on the app, and chose the Govt./Military rate, and was given the rate of $120 for the Govt./Military option. When we came to check in, she stated that the actual rate was $182, and that the app was incorrect. I also called the Titanium Elite line, and they confirmed that the hotel should honor the rate because we showed proper identification. Susette and the GM Ryan refused to honor the rate the app gave, and increase our nightly rate! Ryan stated, I cannot give you that rate because you are just military, and not considered a federal or state employee.
If this is the way Marriott treats the Disabled Veteran community, it’s unfortunate. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY, they have no respect for your service!

Thank you for taking your time to review your experience with us. I have taken a look at your reservation, and I see that you originally booked a rate reserved to California State Employees. Since you were not qualified to receive that rate, we chose to honor another heavily discounted rate reserved for Federal Government employees, of which you were a member of. We appreciate your military service and apologies for any confusion.

The property is a bit run down and in need of a refresh with stains on carpets and worn furniture. Workout room was meager, pool was questionable, and breakfast choices sometimes disappeared quickly. The sounds of the nearby highway came into the room. Also, there's no housekeeping in the rooms during stays. Not sure if this is a temporary or permanent thing. However, hotel staff was great, helpful, responsive, and cheerful. The staff deserve raises and the hotel needs a refresh.

Yes i have stayed in before but not since COVID hit the world.
A few changes here in terms of the breakfast set up of all the hotels stayed within the Marriott chain on this trip (6) this one did that the best but its not how it used to be thats for sure and everything is pre packaged these days and well not as good but this was still the best of our hotels.
I will say VERY clean and thats better than the others .
Rooms were as good as my last review and the standard of them was as well and like other hotels COVID seemed to be no maintenance but it was not the case here and all was good.
My only dislike is now how everyone charges on the parking but its a thing you have to accept
