Una serie di coincidenze negative ci ha condotti, acqua alla gola, a chiedere un'accomodazione presso questo motel. L'apparenza a volte inganna, ma in questo caso già descriveva perfettamente ciò che sarebbe stata la nostra camera. Decisamente squallida, dotata di un telefono anni '80, un condizionatore di modernariato, tanto malconcio che non ci siamo fidati di accendere. Arredo vetusto, lenzuola e ascugamani con macchie sospette. Durante la notte un continuo via vai tra stanze e reception ( cioè un gabbiotto dal quale una non più giovane donna cinese elargiva chiavi e ritirava denari.) A pensare male spesso non ci si sbaglia. Almeno, penserete, si spende poco! Più di 90 dollari per una stanza con 2 letti queen mi è parsa un'esagerazione, visto il contesto, i servizi e l'ubicazione in una zona decisamente periferica e non di sicuro signorile di Los Angeles.
