My husband, daughter, and I took a short trip to CA to visit the beach. We chose this hotel because it was in the middle between the beach and Anaheim, since we also wanted to visit Downtown Disney. The proximity to these locations is great.
We brought our 2 small dogs and we had plenty of room for their beds, kennel, and food bowls. We loved that we were offered the option of a room on the first floor, so we could easily take our dogs out when needed.
However, keep in mind that since this is a pet friendly hotel, the couches and sofa beds may not be the cleanest. We don't let our dogs on furniture, but I know other people do.
Pros: Clean-ish room (the floors left our feet black.) Comfortable bed. Friendly and accommodating staff. Pet friendly, plenty of places to walk dogs.
Cons: Shady location. People arrested in the parking lot, people sleeping in the parking lot, cars coming and going all night long (we stayed in the middle of the week, not during a weekend or holiday.) Very loud bathroom fan with no way to turn it off separately from the light.
Breakfast wasn't served and the pool was closed due to Covid, so I can't include that in my rating and review.
All in all, I'd say our stay was okay. Not the best, but not the worst. If you JUST need a place to sleep, this is a good spot.

service was very good and the location was 20 minutes from New Port Beach. Breakfast needs a little improvement. carpet in room needed a little steam cleaning. door handle on our room was broken and had a hard time getting into the room.

The hotel is in a great location and the pool and hot tub are very nice. The room was clean if a bit spare. There was room enough to put a small table and chairs, but it was empty. The bathroom sink was small and the faucet was an automated one with just cool water available.

The website description of certain rooms are inaccurate. I booked a suite but was later told after checking in that this location has no suites and the first room that I had did not look like a suite. I had to change rooms after the first night and settle for an executive room. I only book suites if my stay is longer than 3 days. Some staff were rude when asking for someone to bring towels and toilet paper. Our room was not visited by housekeeping staff for the entire time we were there 7 days/6 nights. We had to get the stuff from the front desk. The floor has not been cleaned for sometime as we had black feet before we went to bed the first night. We cleaned some of the floor with the room towels and they were black! We have stayed at many other La Quinta locations and this not what we expected.

This recently remodeled chain lodging offers a very good value for the Santa Ana/Hotel Circle area and Orange County in general. I often stay here for a brief overnight on business and have found it clean and mostly quiet. Rates are usually competitive with other hotels in the area. Not the nicest area but the parking lot is well lit and patrolled. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Rooms have modern furnishings, beds could be more comfy but climate control works efficiently and quietly. Good bargain if you’re flying in/out of OC John Wayne Airport: there are closer hotels but they are generally more expensive and charge surprise parking fees not disclosed on their own or third-party booking websites.

Not too bad but staff seems like they hate their jobs. We booked a 5 night stay for my husband and I and two small fur babies. When I made reservation it was just explained to me that it would be $20 per dog per night to to exceed $40 per stay. The front desk girl said that they charge 20 per dog per night which totaled out to be $200 (That was charged as a separate transaction not with the total of our stay)! My husband was already scared bc the day we left to go on vacation the reviews on multiple websites had bad reviews, but we decided to check it out. Once we got to our room,it was clean and all appliances were working. It was clean. So we were heading out to grab some dinner, and I returned to the front desk to show her step by step from Google to hotel policies. She then said she would need to call her manager. Manager on the phone told her no website is wrong. And basically oh well. I was then told that policy changed due to them not being affiliated with Wyndham for the last few months. But the website says by Wyndham, my receipt says it, my key even said it!! Also, don't get your hopes up on breakfast. All there is is juice,coffee, plain bagels, white bread for toast, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, waffle makers, hard boiled eggs and nasty looking sausage. Good if you are a grab and go person really. Contacted the corporate office of WYNDHAM hopefully they will be understanding and make it right. There were so many irritated people at the front desk, and the manager of the hotel should be ashamed to not teach better customer service than that.

For some reason front desk staff checked me out by accident. I ended up wasting my time to rebook new reservation. Most importantly security came to my room at 2:30am in the morning wanting to break-in my room saying that I didn't register to stay here even though I paid for the whole thing. I was like what the heck is going on😂 That's really annoying and unprofessional. This kind of ruined my vacation mood because I couldn't sleep well that night. I only found out the reason he/she checked me out by accident when I talked to the manager in the morning. She only apologized for what had happened.

This hotel / Motel is only worth a 1/3 of what they charge. There are people hanging around the stairs , 2 tv's one didnt work and the one that worked was on the desk. Towels were to old. There were no regular sugar pockets for the coffee.

It’s cute and appears to have been newly renovated, but the walls are paper thin, the bed is AWFUL, and you can hear everything your neighbors are saying. The “free continental breakfast” is a flat out lie. There is a juice dispenser with water and apple juice, old prepackaged muffins, and bowls of fruit. That’s it.

Nice hotel overall. Quiet. Friendly staff. Couple of minor issues with the room, but did not affect stay. Living room TV signal was intermittent. Glass frame around bathroom mirror was cracked with jagged corners creating a potential safety issue.

I have seen trucks with trailers parked there over the years. I'm not sure if it is monitored. Although I did find a Hypodermic needle on the hood of my car, I think this property is relatively safe.
Yes. They do have round trip airport shuttle ( John Wayne Orange County airport only- - not Los Angeles International LAX) and it is free.
Yes, it is good, meaning safe, quiet enough, easy to get in an out of. It's on a sort of hotel row with not a lot of attractions that will make you get out and walk around, although you can easily enough. There's just not that much to walk to except other hotels and a couple of restaurants. But, your car will be secure enough and there's no foot traffic to cause anxiety.
