Customer service is terrible, they say they will do one thing and just leave you waiting to then go to the reception to be told to wait and leave you waiting more. At the end you don't get anything. It happened to a request crib, room cleaning and bath fixing. This happened across the board with different receptoninst. Breakfast wise, they do not understand cross-contamination and only have it available to fulfill Holiday Inn Express requirement. This place gives IHG a bad name.

Really friendly. My room was spacious, clean, and well appointed. I was disappointed that the balcony was off limits. I enjoy sausage gravy at breakfast. It wasn't served the three mornings I was there. The food selections and serving/eating areas were nice nevertheless. The location is convenient and very active.

I read all the reviews and booked anyway. It looked like a beautiful newer hotel from the posted pictures. Obviously, there are things management cannot change, like the scary neighborhood, the Amtrak rail or the loud banquet hall across from the main entrance. They could embrace it by providing a list of restaurants within walking distance for the guests who don’t have vehicles. Staff was generally unfriendly and not helpful with suggestions about the neighborhood. As an IHG member I’m usually greeted with a bottle of water or snack upon check in. We had a 20-minute wait for our room to be ready, and when we declined the suite on the 3rd floor, suddenly there were rooms on the 9th and 10th floor. Our 1-bedroom suite was spacious, clean and well-appointed as most IHG. There isn’t a door separating the bedroom from the living area so no true privacy. When you change TV channels in the bedroom the TV in the living room also can change. The large shower had two convenient built in shelfs and wall mounted cleansers. Our room had two balconies with patio doors that were locked. After the rain I noted footprints out on the balcony that were not ours. Housekeeping consisted of 2 towel exchanges and garbage removals in 6 nights. My bedroom, sinks, toilet were never touched. The fitted sheet on the bed was on inside out, with the tags showing. I had to call down for fresh towels and someone delivered them 45 minutes later. Breakfast was free, thank goodness because I’d never have paid for that. Same hot options almost every day, same potatoes, same omelets, some kind of sausage. Never had bacon once in 6 mornings but veggie sausage for 3. World’s smallest pancakes, tiny muffins and dried out French toast. The service people wore gloves but went from emptying the garbage to refilling the stations without changing or washing them. Close to the I-5, the Amtrak station and John Wayne Airport (no shuttle) Great pizza/pasta place and teriyaki restaurant within a couple blocks if you don’t have a vehicle. Uber ride $15-20 each way to Disneyland, SNA. Santa Ana Zoo 3 block walk.

Neighbors at an Islam Mosque next door made sleep difficult. Every night, they at the mosque would use a public address system to sing loudly until 10:00 p.m. For anyone who want peace and quiet before 10:00, this is not the place to stay. They made the hotel stay very bothersome when trying to sleep.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever visited, I travel frequently and have been to many Holiday Inns. This was miles above the rest. If you’re in the area and want the best bang for your buck, Holiday Inn Santa Ana is the way to go.

Spent two nights for a business trip so peace at night was imperative. No problems with maintinence or housekeeping which was a huge relief. Close enough to Irvine to make it a valuable decision and cost effective choice so definitely planning on coming back more than once to this hotel.

Although I don't use a wheelchair, I am mobility impaired, so we always book an accessible room, and in particular, hubby calls ahead to confirm that the shower will be accessible. The room we booked, 911, was listed as handicap accessible on the booking website, and it had a wheelchair symbol outside the door, but the bathroom, and especially the shower, was definitely not accessible. See my photos. This hotel is in a very noisy location. While we were there, a nearby event center was having some kind of conference that involved loud parties every night, with lots of yelling and cheering until quite late. We were happy to see that our room had a safe, but the safe did not work. Fortunately, a nice maintenance person was sent to replace it. We were told that safes throughout the hotel were not working. When we complained to the manager about the inaccessible shower, she said that her understanding was that it was a room for hearing impaired. Perhaps, but it was mislabeled and was sold to us as accessible. She moved us to another room, 210, and was kind enough to give us a discount for the inadequate room. The new room was better, actually a mini-suite, with the right kind of shower. (But it had no safe.) However, being on a lower floor meant that the noise was much worse - not just from the nightly parties, but from the parking lot and the busy street. Broken things seemed to be the theme while we were there (2023, late June & early July). In this 10 story building, one of the two elevators was broken, and apparently had been for a few weeks. When the hotel was full of conference people, the elevator had to stop on every floor, as more & more people tried to squeeze in. The housekeeping staff with their big carts also had to use the same elevator. I felt bad for them, as they were just trying to work, and often couldn't get from one floor to another because the elevator was so crowded. This could explain why sometimes we didn't get towels & had to call the front desk to ask for them. One thing I usually like about a Holiday Inn Express is the included breakfast. That didn't work out well here. The pancake machine was broken the whole time we were there. Then one day the toaster broke. Then the juice dispenser broke. We usually went out for breakfast. From the outside, it looks like every room has a balcony. But the doors to the balconies can't be opened. I assume that's for safety. What it means is that there is no window to open for fresh air. Thinking about it, though, in such a noisy location we probably wouldn't want to open the window anyway. Our week in Orange County was extended by two days. Rather than stay in this hotel another two days, we checked out and went elsewhere.

Right off interstate 5. Near Santa Ana zoo. Our room was clean. Central air. Breakfast - 4-5 hot items and the extra sides. No pay parking (but no chargers for electric cars). Pool area was great for a team BBQ and was big enough area for 2 teams. I didn’t find laundry in literature but there is guest laundry. Coin operated, so get quarters and buy detergent from front desk first. (Top load 35 min wash. Dryer 45 min.) Staff here was so friendly. So helpful! Top notch at every encounter!

Good location, fair price but that's the best things I can say. 1 elevator didn't work so wait times were very long. Front desk employees never once looked up as people walked through the lobby. Our room had 1 plastic lid but NO actual coffee cups for the coffee maker. But worst of all was 'breakfast.' Yes, it was complimentary but if you stop refilling or putting out any food 25 minutes prior to the posted time, you should be ashamed of that. We saw families with kids find a seat then realize there wasn't much available. This happened both mornings and when asked if they were going to refill the food, the employees responded with a dismissive 'no' before walking away. If your expectations are very low, that's probably best.
