Being in Monterey, I was expecting a experience related to the destination. Lobby was not welcoming with coffee, tea, iced water, only 1 caffiene starbucks; charge is extra for higher speed wi-fi to watch videos or play games, room fridge lacked a freezer for keeping ice chest ice ready; continental breakfast dismal with bland, white breads, fresh fruit, juices and cereals, and the horrible coffee.. Monterey water awful for making Kuerig and Extra charge for bottled water to use for in room coffee maker for multiple stays. Not thrilled about 15$ parking fee since we aren't at a airport hotel. When discussed with desk staff, that was the response. Only place we could get for Monterey Jazz Fest w/e.

We appreciate your response and feedback. While we are very pleased to boast Starbucks Coffee in the lobby (along with the other treats!), a freezer option in every refrigerator (which is in every Guest room), and complimentary Hi-Speed Wi-Fi for every guest, every day, we understand your comments. While bottled water does come at a charge (either in the guest room or in our 24-Hour Market), we certainly are happy to provide those complimentary to each our Diamond Guests. And the restaurant, the Pacific Grille, is one worth visiting even if not at the hotel! With a full menu, a full cook-to-order breakfast including everything from French Toast to Omelets, and being open for dinner as well (including our on-site Bar), we always look forward to guests returning just for that! And while the Parking fee of $15 (easily one of the lowest in Monterey County) is shared, detailed, and provided throughout the reservation process, both online and in-person/via phone, we are happy to share that of our over 215 spaces, nearly 100 of them our in our underground parking facility, while the remainder are directly connected to the property (which by the way is 2.6 miles or 4 minutes from the Monterey Airport). We thank you again for your details, and are happy you stayed as our Guest.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed two nights. After reading some negative reviews I wasn't sure I wanted to stay at this hotel. Check-In was flawless. Friendly, efficient and thorough. Requests for additional items were met immediately. Pool and jacuzzi area was really nice. My HH diamond status afforded me a room upgrade. I'm not sure I would've opted for a pool view again. It was a bit noisy until 10pm when the pool closed. After that time, it was very quiet. My room was very large with two queen beds. Grab and go breakfast was very good. Provided a number of options:bagel, boiled eggs, fruit and juice. Last Monterey stay was at the Monterey Plaza hotel which I loved. I paid twice as much for a room half the size with a street view. This hotel is a much better value. Only issue I had was some inconsiderate guest dinged my car in the parking garage.

My husband and I were traveling through California and decided to stop in Monterey. We stayed in quite a few hotels during our travels and this by far was the biggest disappointment. Our outdated room with a view of the back parking lot cost me over $500 for one night. In all fairness, it was Labor day , but still no excuse for price gouging. I could go on and on, but way too exhausting!

We stayed one night here on a road trip down highway 1. The room was clean and comfortable and the balcony was a welcome surprise. Too bad it overlooked the street and not a nicer view. Had no issues checking in but there were a couple of problems with the room. The toilet wouldn't flush and the plug on the hair dryer was broken BUT both things were taken care of within 10 minutes of notifying the front desk and they even took some money off the price of my room for the inconvenience. The hotel restaurant was pretty good and the staff was super friendly. Parking is not free and will be added to your room upon check in. This wasn't a problem for me though as many of your nicer hotels charge for parking. The only downside was the location. I would have liked to be within walking distance of the beach but it seemed to be a pretty far walk. I would stay here again though because of how quickly the staff addressed my concerns and how nice the room was.

I want to personally thank Front Office Supervisor Thomas Castillo who went the extra mile to help me with an issue. Before we checked out during the Labor Day weekend, I noticed a sizable pending room charge on my credit card. I had booked 2 rooms using points and redeemed an annual rewards free weekend night. Unbeknownst to me, the annual rewards certificate was not properly attached to my reservation so I was being charged the full rate for the room. Mr. Castillo called the Diamond Desk as well the Hilton Honors Customer Service Team who resolved the issue on my behalf. This was the second time the Diamond Desk made an error on a booking. I stayed at this same property recently in July and the Diamond Desk instead tagged it to points instead of using my annual free weekend night despite me specifically calling them to arrange it in that manner. I am so happy that Mr. Castillo took the initiative to resolve this issue. My wife and I were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary and if we had to pay that $400 plus room fee it would dampened our spirits at the tail end of our trip. Thank you Thomas Castillo for being there to assist me and to ensure that I did not leave an unhappy Diamond member. Mr. Castillo is a great asset to the Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. and wish him much success in his career!!
