Have stayed at this hotel for years - spent at least five grand doing so; four days at a time, sometimes more, 2-3 rooms at a time sometimes under my name, sometimes under my hubby's. Used to be a quick easy place to stay for day trips to Big Sur. Now the people who run it can't keep reservations straight, rates straight, the truth straight - it's basically a slum hotel with uncaring sloppy management. Too bad because it started out okay. Read the Yelp reviews - they are true to its condition now. I would share details, but there are just too many screw ups - not worth the time it would take to type. We will never return and advise others to beware. There are MANY other hotels around the same rate in Monterey run properly with care.
My Room was Great!!!!!! Large, Clean!! comfortable !, Nice location! Quiet! helpful staff... I stayed on the 2nd story and it was nice and quiet away from the parking spaces... Price was reasonable compared to other Hotels that are not as nice!

Wonderful stay with my two dogs for a decent small pet policy fee. In the heart of Monterey made it easy to get to around I get around-get get around! Clean and cute rooms. Incredibly accommodating staff- can’t thank them enough! Very nice soaps too.
I have family in Monterey and usually stay with them when I come down, but chose to find an affordable hotel instead due to covid, so we ended up here for two nights. The price was the main factor for us, and it’s location is decent- easy freeway access and right by Del Monte Shopping Center mall. It is not walking distance to the main attractions in Monterey so keep in mind if you don’t have a car. It was about what I expected for the price, but my main gripes were the noise (thin walls and loud people yelling/echoing down the halls) and that it didn’t feel that clean/was showing signs of dilapidation. An “okay” option, but there are better.
