This is a great place to stay if you are leaving for a cruise. The hotel and rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. They have a shuttle service that will take you from the hotel to the cruise port. We had dinner at a nearby restaurant and they took us and picked us up from there. I will stay here the next time I leave out of LA.

The place is nice, but outdated. The first room we were given smelled like it had water damage. Two of the lights did not work and when I dialed zero on the phone to notify the front desk, I continually heard a dialtone.
The second room was better. However, when it got chilly, I struggled to figure out how to operate the heater. Basically, the thing heated up for 10 minutes and then went back to blowing cold air. I just turned it off and slept in my jacket! For two guests staying for three days, the room had two bath towels, two face towels and one hand towel. There was no pan or paper in the room either. The wall as are paper thin, so if you’re a light-sleeper like me, make SURE to bring your ear plugs!
The people are nice enough but the place just needs updating.

Our stay was overall a good stay. The rooms were clean, staff was nice and efficient, and location was good, as well. We requested an early check-in because we were planning to arrive early in the day and they had our room ready upon arrival (11 am). We didn’t experience any issues throughout our stay.

I am a pastor missionary, and I was there with my family to speak at a local church. I lived in San Pedro for a long time and always wanted to stay here and I could never. So finally I got my chance.
From the moment I got there it really seem like they didn’t want anybody staying there because they treated everybody in line very rude. Very dismissive with absolutely no motivation to help in any way at all. I was very confused because normally Doubletree is a good hotel. They had no cookies, anytime we ask for towels or toilet paper they would send up the security guard with the stuff, which wasn’t allowed to accept any tips. I will never stay there again. I don’t recommend it. For the price they charge you can definitely find somewhere better without a doubt.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay. We are glad to learn you have enjoyed your stay overall but am saddened to learn of the disappointment surrounding your experience with our team. We can assure you this is not of typical service from our team. We have taken the time to display a yellow banner detailing the amenities and service availability limitations, as we try to keep all informed and safe within the hotel. I can see how these issues experienced can be frustrating during your getaway and for that we deeply apologize. Your constructive comments are truly valued, as we continue to make improvements moving forward. Thank you for taking the time to complete and review your recent stay with us.

We booked via Expedia with confirmation. When we arrived to check-in, we were greeted by the concierge, who rudely informed us our reservation did not exist. When showing him our confirmation number, he shooed my phone away and said it was irrelevant. When asking him for assistance on how to reserve a room, he responded, "you should never book through a 3rd party". The curtness we received during an extremely stressful day was most disappointing & not one of a professional concierge. Our trip plans for a cruise we'd previously booked was cancelled leaving over 3000 people searching for accommodations. Expedia is the route that was used successfully by many of our co-passengers, as we learned this evening. After being held for 6 hours in a room with thousands of people in limbo, we expected a reasonable amount of kindness and help from someone in the service industry. I've stayed at Doubletree's across the nation & highly recommend. This person does not represent your hotel well.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while traveling on business. Positives were: excellent location (right on the marina), great running trails right outside the hotel. The staff was welcoming and professional.
Negatives: outdated hotel and worn out room with peeling paint, musty smell. The housekeeping forgot to place folding stool for the suitcase which is standard in any hotel and the box of tissues in the room. The curtains were threadbare and the gauze curtains had large holes in them. The screen door (my room was on the first floor) didn't close very well and was out of alignment. The food in the hotel is very expensive- I was traveling on business but even then didn't want to spend my customer's money on a $20 omelet or $4 on a 12 oz cup of mediocre drip coffee. Overall this hotel was okay for 1 or 2 nights but certainly not for a party that is looking for special treatment or any kind of high end experience.

My stay was horrible! My entire family stayed here for the wedding of my daughter August 11-14th 2021. Here are the list of all yhe isaue we have encountered.
Faucet came out of counter it is not attached maybe that is why it smells like mold in the room. Video attached.
Light on the night stand were flickering and i pulled the plug to be safe of fire, but the entire socket plate is broken n it came off.
TV is broken big line in the middle of the screen and remote do not work.
Windows are so thin that i could here the noise outside my room which is on the third floor and this was middle of the night.
All housekeeper are not wearing mask while on the hallway and cleaning the rooms. And we were told mask is mandated in the building.
We have to re-wiped all the counters and tables due to dust that is filty.
This building is suppose to be none smoking building but the hallway smells like marijuana and cigarettes.

I could go on and our family and friends have more issues about the hotel as well not a Hilton standard at all.

Very dissapointed.

I stayed here in Nov 2019 for two nights prior to a cruise holiday.
The hotel is clean and well-situated with the cruise terminal a short complimentary shuttle bus ride away.
The staff were all welcoming and accommodating. A special mention to Cheyenne who drives the hotel shuttle bus. On hearing that i had forgotten to pack some personal toiletries, Cheyenne drove me to the closest drug store in her own time. This is exceptional customer service and deserves my appreciation.
The bedrooms are large and clean and provide coffee and tea making facilities.
Breakfast is served in the coffee shop to the left of reception. It is a self service buffet but with a coffee and tea table service.
One day i walked along the water front and enjoyed a very fresh fish lunch at a local fish restaurant. I cannot remember the name of the restaurant but feel sure the reception team would recommend it.
I would recommend this hotel highly, especially for anyone to stay and relax prior to embarking on a cruise holiday.
Thank you

The location was perfect for us since we were visiting family in the area and they have a sailboat in the Marina. Our room faced the parking area so there wasn’t a view but there is a beautiful view of the Marina in the other side of the building. I took a walk every morning from the hotel around the Marina. It’s a beautiful and safe area. The rooms are average especially considering the price. The breakfast menu doesn’t have a healthy option, I usually order a yogurt parfait. The breakfast prices were very high. Complimentary coffee ends at 8 am.

Thank you for sharing your recent stay with us, Lindae! We are so pleased to hear our hotel's accommodations were a good fit for you. We will take a look at adding a few more healthy options like a parfait. However, next time you are with us, you should try our Avocado Toast. It is healthy and delicious! Thanks again for sharing and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!

We almost changed our plans based on the reviews of the Port Pedro DoubleTree hotel but, are happy that we didn't. The hotel staff were very accommodating as was Peter the general manager. Our room was very clean and spacious, as were the common areas and specific needs that we had were met and even exceeded. Our only disappointment was the limited menu selections as well as the high prices charged for the food.
The hotels location near the cruise center, made staying here that much more enjoyable and the free shuttle to the Port, stress free.
Will stay there again, should the opportunity arise.

As stated above, yes. Register for the shuttle when you check in. In the afternoon, the shuttle will also take you to the Battleship Iowa. You might have to Lyft or Uber back, but a tour of the ship is worth a visit.

To and from hotel to pier and back is free. Also free shuttle to nearby stores and restaurants. Just tip the driver.

We took an Uber. I think it was about $50 but that will depend on the date and time and demand.
