I’ve stayed at a number of hotels lately, and the rooms at The Westin Bonaventure are cleaned and prepared far far better than any other hotel I’ve seen.

Every disposable item is presented in a sealed clear plastic bag, as is the TV remote control. This includes coffee, along with a package including liquid creamers, plastic cups and shampoo/conditioner/lotion.

And while the awesome breakfast buffet is closed, Platinum members get a voucher for the lobby bar, which includes a breakfast sandwich, fruit, juice and coffee drinks. The face value of those items would be north of $30, and the staff there are super friendly.

I will look forward to things getting back to normal, but in the meantime it’s a pleasure to stay at the Westin Bonaventure.

Was in town to spend bday weekend with our daughter, and need a base of ops near USC. Yes, this is an older property and some of the best rides in LA are the outside of the building glass elevators used in movies. (in the basement by valet are posters of movies that were partially shot at the Westin..nice trivia)..so yes its older but has a cool LA 80's vib about the place. Since wife is Bonvoy we got upgraded to suite on 29th floor with bfast included. Dealt with Camillia in group res, and some requested/maint items had to be re requested 2-3 times but eventually resolved. Beds comfy, bathroom well appointed and clean, valet parking (Required 50 a nite) is pricey, but in that area worth it and we never waited on our car. Bfast is numerous buffets with plenty of fresh options for any palate, we used gov rate so price was reasonable for dntwn property plus location was key for us since we traveled twice to Anaheim (Disney/Knott Berry) and NW to Six Flags, so again hotel well placed for our day trips. Big shout out to Mario (GM), Ernesto, Sorin, and others at front desk, thanks for the grand treatment...made us feel like celebs..

This visit to the Westin Bonaventure was for a three-night stay. While the room was comfortable and the view from the 27th amazing, the overall hotel complex is sterile! As this hotel complex was built in the 1970's, it is gray and beige with very little color with muted lighting even in daylight hours.
The major problem is the hotel does a poor job at letting guest know about food options. There is very little signage that notes what is open and menus. There is a center area of the lobby that has a bar and quick service food. But I learned later that one could sit and receive better food from the kitchen. This wasn't noted anywhere. This center eatery is a franchise of Starbucks, with their prices slightly higher than a normal location.
There are also food places on the upper levels, but their hours are tied to business hours but one has to find them first! Of course, the prices were spending in this Westin with the food being OK. During my stay in November 2021, there was no room service, which is sorely missing! Also, keep in mind that most nights and weekends many stores and restaurants are closed as this hotel is in the business center of downtown LA.
Arrival at the hotel is not well marked, as one enters the parking garage and then luggage and valet services will take care of your vehicle. Note, parking is $49 a day.
It takes a day to get ones bearings on the layout of this huge complex. The rooms are in five different circular towers. My room was a king on the 27th floor. The view was facing southeast, so I enjoyed some nice sunrise mornings. All rooms have good views, but there are 30 floors in each tower. The elevators to the room are on the exterior and there are views of the city. Remember that if you are not comfortable with heights.

The bed was comfortable and the room HVAC worked well to maintain a pleasant temperature. I was impressed with how quickly hot water was available in the shower consider the size of the building. There was a coffee maker and a small refrigerator. The decor was bland, but with some fun old photos of Los Angeles.
The staff was friendly and I felt welcome during my stay.
This is a good place to stay for a short time, but don't expect anything to wow you. The hotel has lots of history as location for many film and television productions which they provide information about.

We arrived at this hotel about an hour before check in and out room was not ready, We wait for that time and also waited an ADDITIONAL 31/2 HOURS. Other guest in our group waited 5-7 hours! This was on a Sunday and little in the hotel was open for dinner. This hotel needs better communication with tour guests checking in and needs more staff so rooms are ready and welcoming to incoming guests. At the very least, more restaurants open for food purchase. Every time we asked if our room was ready, we were told "they were working on it." The next day a card was placed under our door stating "thank you for your patience yesterday." The assumption being that every guest was patiently waiting for a room that had been previously reserved! This card did not included an apology. It did not include a voucher for a free dinner any other offer by way of compensation. If you like uncomfortable waiting to rest, this hotel is for you!

I stayed at this hotel last week May 29th for 6 nights and I have to commend every department. We arrived at almost 2am and Kevin was there to greet us. I had requested a higher floor since I was there for a few days and I got exactly that ! The first room on the 21st floor had a bit of an Oder which I just asked for some air freshener to not be a pain but Kevin came up with a swift solution of changing rooms so I agreed. 29th floor was an experience ! Valet was on point every single time no matter how many times you had to go IN and OUT and always in a very timely matter. The valet manager is an amazing lady (I didn’t get her name) she seemed to be a very hard worker and runs a great staff. We kept our DD sign on our door for the duration of our stay just to minimize people we come in contact with and housekeeping never dropped the ball they left a new set of rags/towels daily at our door and picked up old ones quickly. There is a STARBUCKS in the hotel !!! The phones however is my only issue no one ever answers and you kinda need that to work to get your car BUT not a deal breakers for me. I would also recommend putting a “no smoking” sign at front for obvious reasons. I’d stay here again 100%. Kevin FD and the valet manager were the highlights of our stay.

Husband and I stayed here two nights midweek so we could enjoy a Dodgers game one night and then a concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall the second night. The location was perfect for us to park our car (better daily rates in the World Trade Center Garage adjacent to the Westin) and either walk or take public transit to where we wanted to go. We enjoyed the great breakfast buffet both mornings. Staff in the restaurant were well-trained and very friendly. Rooms were clean and pretty well appointed. If I have an opportunity to give the Westin feedback, it would be to ditch the waterfall showerheads in favor of low-flow devices. Also install aerators on the bathroom sinks so that more water is conserved during the extreme and exception drought conditions.

I have stayed at both the Millennium Biltmore and the Westin Bonaventure on numerous occasions for business travel because my office building is nearby. Unfortunately there are no high-end hotel options in this part of downtown LA and these two hotels are no exception. The rooms at the Westin are old and outdated, but serviceable if you are only staying a night or two. It would be terrific to have the bed linens upgraded, as there are just sheets on the beds without a real comforter of any kind and the rooms are generally extremely cold even when the air conditioning is turned off. It would also be nice to have the hardware in the showers upgraded as the rain head showers have very little water pressure and most of the water does not flow to the showerhead when you pull the plug to switch from tub to shower. The other significant issue that I have with the Westin is the number of individuals that they permit to loiter just outside the entrance to the hotel and parking garage. It does not engender a safe feeling environment at all and the smell of marijuana is overwhelming and extremely unpleasant at all times of day at night. The Weston does, however, have a very nice valet parking area that is well lit and staffed and is much better than the parking garage at the Biltmore (which is cramped, dark, no staff anywhere, and feels quite unsafe). I think if the Westin made a few global changes as noted here, it would really improve the guest experience at this particular location.

I can't think of a circumstance under which I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It's hard to believe it's part of the Westin hotel chain and it's ridiculously overpriced for what you get. The location is not good for tourists and there's very little within walking distance. The parking garage is super expensive and it was actually full part of our stay so we had to look elsewhere to park. The room was basic and smelled like it was once a smoking room. It also did not look like it had been cleaned very well. The walls are thin so be prepared to hear your neighbors throughout the night. Because of Covid they offer very few amenities, don't clean your room, bring towels, etc., yet 90% of the people are walking around unmasked. So which is it? Bottom line: for what you pay you can find something as nice or nicer in a better LA location.

When we made our reservations, we told the Marriott reservation personae were planning to park at the garage at the hotel because or two Resevations “ back-to-back” were made because of a vacation where we were flying from LAX. When we checked in before our departure, we were informed we should have been given the rate designed for guests who parked there. Luckily, they had us contact via a web site a company that offered discounted rates, and told us to save the confirmation number or we would have needed to pay full price—a shocking mistake. My husband is a Platinum Elite Member forever.

Getting to the airport was fast on the hotel shuttle. Getting back to the hotel when we returned was a nightmare. We got in a little after 9 pm, and watched every other hotel shuttle go by 3 or 4 times. We called the hotel 3 times. The front desk people were surprised. Finally nearly 60 minutes later we were picked up. Everyone on the bus was annoyed.

We checked in at early 10:30 pm, went to our room, and it was not “defeathered”. And the phones didn’t work to ask for housekeeping. We got the bedding changed. Then the phones replaced. It was very late.

The food at the Club Room is excellent. Luckily I decided to check on getting out of the parking lot before we checked out. The front desk person asked me for proof we had prepaid via an email confirmation, and I was only told to keep the number. Luckily, after awhile, he believed me, and gave me the correct ticket to leave the garage.

We have never had these issues at the hotel. It was not a pleasant experience even though the staff seemed to want to do things right, there is little coordination and not great training.

We stayed here for 2 night over a weekend. At check in, we did not get an upgrade but were told that the suites were all booked. I checked a few hours later and two different categories of suites had at least 3 availabilities, each. I did not complain since we had received free parking, which is quite a value. The regular room is small, the fixed TV does not allow connection with a laptop via HDMI or WIFI. The rooms were clean. One had to reserve gym and pool. No restaurant or room service, breakfast from the lobby bar, but we opted for 2 bottles water instead due to a 15-20 wait in line. The only real platinum elite upgrade we got was a late checkout (4 pm) but we tried to leave at 2 pm. Tried!!! Called the service phone, asked for a bell man and for a warning if it took longer than 10-15 minutes. Nobody came or called us. I tried to call again to get an update but I could not get through, internally or via an external line. After 45 minutes, we made it to the garage with a lot of luggage. On the way down, we saw the bell man standing at his desk.
Overall: Most employees tried to give their best in a totally understaffed clean Hotel.
