Great motel. Clean and spacious room. Well maintained. Good laundry room power and coins available at reception. Breakfast room with cereal and fruit .
Close to Chipolte and a Walgreens.
Location was very easy for trips to Hollywood , LAX and Santa Monica . We also did a drive in movie at paramount which was fun although terrible food at the drive in. Staff at this motel were very friendly and helpful. It felt a safe area.

Loving the location, spent a week to go to Universal Studios. Very close driving distance to Universal as well as lots of great food options nearby. Places to eat mostly close at 8pm and lot of places lack parking so I chose places to eat based on what time they close and parking space. The hotel itself is not grand but does the job of having a clean and safe place to sleep with hot breakfast included like sausage, cheese omelet, waffles, etc. Lots of parking at the hotel and easy access to Hwy 134 and nearby places like CVS if you end up needed meds during trip. Rooms have microwave and fridge and beds were comfortable. Only thing I wished was that they were queen beds instead of double beds. All in all, great hotel we will come back to for sure. Highly recommended!

We chose this hotel because of limited vacancies elsewhere because of a sporting weekend coming up. The premises were reasonably clean, but the rooms were overpriced for the quality on offer, and the staff were a little strange to say the least. By the term "strange", I mean distant, flippant and not focused on the job at hand. You had to ask three or four times before they comprehended what you were talking about. Furthermore, one of the young girls manning the fort on the night shift had an unbelievable cold or case of the flu (or perhaps even COVID); coughing, sneezing, snorting ... you name it ... and in front of guests in the reception area.
Signs were up everywhere for guests and staff to wear masks, but was she? No.
As a secondary issue, the hotel's website offered breakfast with the rooms, and we paid for same, but upon check-in they claimed that they'd changed the breakfast setup "because of COVID". Was that unreasonable? No. Did they instead offer a discount or an alternative? You're kidding.

Stayed 3 nights. Obviously it's not the Ritz-Carlton, but for what it is, it could not be better. Room was spacious, spotlessly clean, bed and pillows both very comfortable. Blackout curtains worked great. TV was good quality. Electrical outlets in the lamp bases were a nice touch, although they had been used so much they were loose. Breakfast was fine. Coffee was good, juice was cold. Staff was extremely pleasant and responsive to our needs. We loved the neighborhood; Eagle Rock is a college town (Occidental) so it was easy to find delicious cheap eats and the neighborhood has personality. The Original Tommy's is right down the street, and Cindy's Cafe, one of the oldest restaurants in L.A. -- cool retro vibe.

My husband was traveling to Eaglerock to see his mother who has been put in a home. She suffers from dementia upon arrival she was having some serious issues so my husband decided to stay with his mom. We booked with booking.com for the comfort inn in old Pasadena Eagle rock area. We were going to change the dates at the end of July and I would be starting dialysis at that time. While on hold my husband and I discussed how hard it would be to travel so early into my dialysis treatment. When the wonderful gentleman from booking.com came back the hotel was willing to allow us to change the dates which was great. We greatly appreciated that but then when I told the gentleman that I changed my mind and he contacted the hotel to see if they would allow The cancellation fee to be waived he said he would they would let us know. I did receive the email back and the hotel said since they allowed us to change the dates it was a one time thing and they would not waive the cancellation fee. I definitely will not be staying at this hotel when I am well enough to travel back to California Eaglerock area.

One of the main reasons why my family stayed here is because of all the rooms have a mini-fridge/freezer, which, as I found out while looking for hotels, is increasingly hard to find nowadays. The room with a queen bed also was plenty spacious to set up the Pack n Play for our baby, so that was convenient. They were also able to accommodate putting us on the ground floor, so that was another plus. Area is convenient as it is within a half hour drive or so (with traffic) of fun sites like Griffith Park, Dodger Stadium, Rose Bowl, LA Coliseum, and downtown LA. Without traffic some of those are even closer. They also have a hearty (but basic) continental breakfast included with the stay. That being said, there’s several delicious donut shops and Armenian bakeries (as well as many other tasty restaurants) within a short drive, so you may want to save your calories for those. While the hotel is on a main road, traffic only really seemed to be an issue during rush hour, so we didn’t have any issues with noise from the street at night. Staff were friendly and we never had an issue getting a parking spot in front of our room. Overall, it is a nice little place to stay.

Upon arrival I found the girl at the reception to be unprofessional and rude (like pay now or get out)! The breakfast is basically plastic and sugar - poor quality. It would be better to offer less products and instead focus on better quality.
The postives: exceptionally good cleaning (thanks to very friendly and professional cleaning staff).
Good and convenient location, close to Occidental college, walking distance to cafés and restaurants.
I have stayed at this property 5-6 times during the past ten years, it would have been nice to see an improvement in attitude towards the guests and, with the increase of the price, also a different approach to sustainablility.

It had a good location. Near our daughter's house. And it was clean. All of the employees were very nice. But the paint on the walls was redone so many times that it looked sloppy. The handle to the outside door partially broke and made it dificult to go in and out. The room was very small. The breakfast was awful; lousy thin coffee, and piles of sweet carbohydrates. The bed was OK. It was noisy enough to keep me awake AFTER I removed my hearing aids. I'd look at other rooms in the neighborhood before I chose this one again.

Has everything you want in a lower-priced property. Room was clean enough, shower was a little weak, but manageable. Sink is outside the shower and toilet, if that matters to some. Breakfast- adequate. Always something hot, like eggs (powdered) and cheese omelet with sausage. Cold cereal, yogurt, toast, apples, fruit juice, coffee. There was a pool and small hot tub, which we didn't use, but seems like a great value. Also parking was free- nice! Reminds me of the Hampton Inn before they raised their prices.

This motel is fine - clean, rooms are decent. However a BIG warning: I checked in for the week and there is a jackhammer starting every morning at 7AM in front of the motel. It is LOUD and you can hear it from basically anywhere on the property. I am changing rooms, which may help a bit, but if you want a relaxing stay look elsewhere, at least right now. Very disappointed that the staff did not reveal this when I made my reservation, since when I complained I was told this had been going on for at least a month already. Transparency is important if you want to build trust with your customer base. Comfort Inn failed on this one. The noise is deafening. Very disappointed in Comfort Inn.

Response from Sue Key, Revenue Management at Comfort Inn Near Old Town Pasadena In Eagle Rock
Responded 13 May 2021
Dear Valerie: We are glad to hear you found the hotel accommodations fine. On the other hand; as we previously informed you; our hotel was never notified by the city of any work or scope of work to be done in front of our property. In fact, we learned on the same day when they were setting up, and a city supervisor asked about which side of the hotel entrance could they block. During your conversation you had with our agent she even invited you to ask more info as the city supervisor was right there, but you refused. So far none of our guests have complained as the city worked fast, and the project was completed in just a few days. Needless to say, if the project had been managed at the hotel level then rest assure all our guests would have been notified. In any case, I am glad you were offered more than a few options to solve the noise issue. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we thank you for your business.

Actually, we are about 4.0 miles from where the Rose Parade begins. In fact, these 4 miles is according to google maps. The distance is based from our hotel to the Norton Simon Museum which is the main Rose Parade stop. Thanks.

Hi Nyla K, First of all I apologize for taking so long to reply. First of all we do not have a shuttle service that is provided by the hotel, thus this type of service is not included in the price. There are reputable companies such as super shuttle departing from major airports such as LAX or BUR. These by the way are the airports we are close to. BUR is about 15 miles from the hotel, and LAX is about 35 miles from the hotel. Finally, Uber or Lyft may be another share ride service that can assist you with transportation from / to the airport. Thanks.
