While the staff were all pleasant and the room was fine, there was not a breakfast as they advertise. In fact, we have stayed here a couple of times in the past as it is near family we are visiting and they had a full breakfast option...maybe not gourmet...but plenty of options. We just stayed three nights and there was only coffee and pre-packaged blueberry muffins (still very cold from either the fridge or freezer). When I asked there wasn’t an answer as to why. Not anything if you can’t eat gluten. If there is a COVID-related reason then they should tell you that BEFORE booking or offer prepackaged yoghurts, cereals, fruits...something. Since we have always booked this hotel to be able to get a quick bite before going to out for the day it was quite disappointing.

One night stay.
I was pretty happy with this hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly.

Parking in a garage was a real plus for me. There is a great Thai restaurant in their parking lot.

I think this would be a great home base for tourists.

Small issues: the sink leaked, the closet is small, and there is a bit of street traffic noise that gets through the windows.

But overall I would recommend staying here. It's in a safe, but funky area.

Loved this hotel but they advertise a hot breakfast but with COVID they opted out of any breakfast. Hotel room large and comfortable. Especially appreciated comfortable bed, large mini fridge and comfortable reading/chair. Will return again.

My experience at this hotel was unfortunately marked by several issues that made my stay quite unpleasant. From the moment I arrived at the reception, I was greeted by staff who seemed disinterested and not very friendly.

Upon entering the room, the situation did not improve. Even though I had put the "do not disturb" sign on the door, the housekeeping service knocked on the door several times.

It's truly frustrating when a hotel chain doesn't accept a corporate card as a deposit, especially if you're traveling for work and don't have immediate access to other funds. The situation you describe is even more concerning, as it could result in significant discomfort, such as the possibility of not having a place to stay overnight.

The hotel's refusal to accept the card provided by your company shows inflexibility on the part of the hotel chain. This policy can create complicated situations for guests, especially for business travelers who often rely on these corporate cards to cover expenses during their trips.

It's essential for hotels and hotel chains to be more understanding and flexible regarding different forms of payment, especially when it comes to corporate cards provided by companies to their employees. This lack of flexibility can harm the hotel chain's reputation and result in the loss of customers, as many guests value convenience and ease of transactions during their stays.

I hope the hotel chain considers reviewing its policies to better accommodate the needs of guests and provide a more pleasant and convenient experience for those who travel for work or leisure. After all, customer satisfaction is a key factor for the success of any business in the hotel industry.

This experience left me with a terrible impression of the hotel chain. After all, hospitality and genuine concern for the well-being of guests are essential factors in making any stay memorable and satisfactory

I stayed overnight at this motel one night. I was charged for the room. Then I noticed they charged me an additional $150.00 3 days after I checked out. I called to inquire why and the woman (who would not give me her name) said the computer said I smoked in the room and that was a fee for deep cleaning. I don't smoke. I told her it was obviously a mistake and I needed to speak with someone about reversing the charges but she said there was nothing I could do. Oh yes there is - I disputed the charged on my card. I'd be careful staying here. Check your bank statement after your stay.

I've stayed here before and liked it but now it is managed differently. They use the overhead intercom now to tell the entire hotel that breakfast is available and then that breakfast is closed. Also, to communicate with cleaning staff. So if sleeping is something you value, this is not the place for you. Rooms are large, clean and well maintained. The clientele these days also seems different, lots of partying, people yelling, etc. Sometimes it seems people book several rooms for their group and then use the hallway as their "conference room." Hotel staff was responsive to noise complaints. But not about the intercom. I feel like the intercom is to communicate emergencies to guests, not to tell cleaning staff to leave extra towels in room 316 or whatever. Won't be staying her again, sadly since I love the location.

I don’t like to spend a lot of money on a hotel. I just need a place to sleep. This hotel was perfect! The room was quiet even though close to a busy street and well equipped with microwave, coffee machine, flatscreen TV, and refrigerator. The bed was comfortable. The free breakfast had eggs & sausage. The parking lot is gated. I highly recommend Biscuit & Bean for lunch a block away!

We stayed at this hotel 3 days in July, 2003. The neighborhood is not the best at night, but it's perfectly safe during daylight. When you return at night, it has a secured parking and entrance area for after 6 p.m. The location is very convenient. 5 miles to Hollywood, 3 to downtown. The staff was very courteous. We checked out to go to San Diego and then set ourselves up near LAX. We missed this small hotel almost immediately. I would definitely stay there again

Every time I visit LA, I stay at this Comfort Inn. It's nothing fancy but it has everything I want: good location, low rates, comfortable, and free on-site self-parking. Renting a car is pretty much a requirement in this city and I can't stand how hotels insist on charging ridiculous fees for parking.

The room is clean, nothing fancy, but fairly roomy. A good selection of TV channels is available and the bathroom is average. The hallways reek of bleach sometimes, but I guess that's probably a good sign.

The front desk employees are very laidback, if not a tad apathetic. The free breakfast is meager but there's plenty of options nearby, especially west on Sunset Blvd.

The self-parking garage is underneath the hotel, accessible via side street with the roomkey. The car is registered at check-in so they know who is legally parked there.

Overall, it's a reliable property.

I booked this hotel based on the many good reviews I read here on Trip Advisor. This is my last night in this hotel and I couldn't be happier with the choice. I don't usually travel alone, and though a New York City native, I did have some trepidation about staying alone in a hotel in L.A.

I agree with all of the reviewers who mentioned the excellent security at this hotel. There are cameras everywhere and yes, the front desk is behind a glass partition. Rather than making me nervous by their mere existence, they really have made me feel safer.

As for the rooms, I cannot understand how other reviewers have described this place as a basic, no-frills hotel. My room is extremely spacious, as are most of the others I've seen in passing. All the rooms I've seen have been renovated: the vanity is granite, with a new faucet. The bathtub surround is flat-panel stone, with NONE of the grout and tiles that can be covered with mold. In fact, the bedroom and bath are spotless. There's a small, quiet refrigerator and a microwave that sits on granite shelves, and both are also completely clean. The king-sized bed is covered in a luxurious-looking burnt-orange shiny quilted new-looking bedspread. The bed itself could be a little softer, but it's not rock-hard either; this non-sleeper has slept well. Even the entry doorsill and hinges have been replaced. There is a desk, armoire, table, and three chairs, and there is still a huge amount of room to walk around. The carpet is not old, but during my stay all of the rooms were having the carpets restretched and cleaned. The shower is good, with a new, adjustable showerhead. The lighting is good in the bedroom and bathroom, and there are two telephones. My only complaint is that the table and one of the chairs could use replacement.

The lobby is small, but furnished with newer furniture in excellent condition, and the small breakfast room is bright and modern, too.

A number of people wrote about the somewhat seedy neighborhood. Having driven back all the way on Sunset from West Hollywood to the hotel, the neighborhood does change - stores and restaurants are closed and largely ethnic, mostly Hispanic. It certainly does not have the glitz and polish and lighting of the areas I was coming from. But not once did I feel unsafe. I did not use the underground parking, because the lobby is at one end of a small strip mall with outdoor parking, and I was able to park one foot away from the hotel lobby.

After booking this hotel by calling Choice's 800 number, I later did a comparison on Choice Hotel's own website among this hotel and four other Comfort Inns in the area. I was dismayed to see that this was the only one that did not have high speed internet service listed for the rooms. I was about to cancel my reservation, but then decided to call Choice to verify it. They made a direct call to the hotel and told me that they did indeed have high speed in all the rooms. I am using it right now, and it has worked perfectly.

I did not have a chance to check out the actual breakfast - I either slept in or had to leave very early before they began serving. But on my first morning I asked the desk after breakfast was over if I might be able to get some bread for toast. No problem. The guy at the desk called and got the woman in charge of breakfast to come down and get me some food. She gave me a plate of bread and pastries and, of course, there is always coffee available.

In closing, I must say that I am a snob about hotels. I absolutely cannot stay in an old room; I find it too depressing. And I'm squeamish and easily skeeved, and will not tolerate anything that is not immaculate. Also, I always stay in smoking rooms. This hotel room was not only one step away from being sterilized, it is also the only smoking room I've been in anywhere that doesn't have that nauseating, suffocating smell of stale smoke. And that goes for the hallways, too, despite what one woman wrote about it. I can sniff out smoke anywhere, at any time, but not at this place. They're certainly doing something right.

This Comfort Inn has got to be the best deal in L.A. For $81 a night, you cannot get better. And I'd wager that your room in a high-rise hotel would not be any nicer. As long as you have a car and a map, it would be very short-sighted to stay somewhere else. If I return to L.A., this will be my first, and only, choice.
