It was mostly fine. Cynthia was great, any other time I felt like my presence was an imposition. I stayed for two nights for my daughters birthday, each time I walked past the “concierge” I would say hello and most times would be ignored. The beds were super hard and the refrigerator in the room made a horrible noise about every 30 minutes that would keep us awake. The AC unit was working but not well.

The room was small, but functional. The floors were really dirty, it seemed like there was sand on the floors or just really filmy dirt. First thing my daughter likes to do is kick her shoes off and her socks were filthy within minutes.

I don’t know that I’ll stay here again, the neighborhood wasn’t great and there were a lot of characters hanging around. Maybe if it was just my husband and I for one night but definitely not a family in a tiny place like that. Not really worth the money if I’m honest. I know it’s LA and it’s pretty close to Universal but I’ll pass in the future.

What was good was fine, kind of the bare minimum you’d expect from any hotel but the bad stuff really took the shine off the stay.

Ok so there are a few upsides and downsides to this hotel. Firstly the positive, it was 5 mins walk to Universal Studios, the metro, 20 mins walk to Millennium Dance Complex, large rooms (Queen double suite), and there is an awesome Taco restaurant next door and lots of other food options and pubs close by! Downsides, the homeless outside, they were just everywhere but did not harass us at all, the room floor needed a good mop as it was gross, $18 per night expected on check in for gratuities...however, no housekeeping as they were short of staff so what did I pay the $18 per night for???) The pool is in the carpark, staff were often seen arguing with people at the front desk, no food options at the hotel. Room had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine however no boiling water for tea. Upon asking they gave me a cup for free (maybe part of the exorbidant gratuity fees???). Overall it was fine for our needs but would not rush back. Good location if staying one to two nights for Universal.

Lovely hotel and located only 5 minutes walking distance from the Universal Studios Hollywood tram stop. We stayed in a room with a king-size bed. The room was split by a partial wall with a large couch on the other side, easily big enough to fit a 3rd person. The bathroom is large and spacious with a great shower, though it did emit a weird smell once it ran for a few minutes. I have one other complaint, room service dropped off fresh towels but did not remove the used ones. They did not make the beds. Not a huge issue as we're totally capable but a little odd since we're from Vegas.

While I understand location impacts price, to know how much I paid for this room and what the service and product was, I’ve paid significantly less and gotten so much more in a hotel. The room I ordered had a pull out couch bed, but when I arrived they had no more of them. The service fees and parking were not what was advertised on the website and they literally scratched it out on the paper at the front desk and showed the new price. Again, I understand inflation is happening everywhere, but then update that on your website. I definitely would not have booked there had I known these added fees were not part of the price AND they were higher than advertised. THEN when I asked for an extra sheet, blanket and pillow, I was told they can’t give us any until someone else comes in to work. Eventually I got it, but had to wait until 11:00pm to do so. The room faced hwy 101 and was loud. The parking garage is a nightmare. And the next day our neighbor’s room flooded and water was everywhere in the hallways, even all the way downstairs into the parking garage. As stated, I know we are in Hollywood, but for that experience and I paid $100 or even $200 a night…maybe I could justify it. But I paid significantly more for a Monday and Tuesday night. Thanks, but never again.

They’re staff is completely rude and disgusting :I have never been treated worse. The ac units in my suite we’re broken - and I had to wait 2 hours for A technician to come and check out the problem. After waiting two hours I was told that he had bigger issues and could not come after all. I was then promised that he would be able to come tomorrow when I double checked information later on that day by calling their front desk office lady they said that they couldn’t have anyone come tomorrow because he was very very busy.
They offered to move me to a different room that’ll be a downgrade without giving me the difference in price .
They also didn’t offer to send any help after I asked for them to please in a cart up till I can move my belongings.
In order for me to even get through to them because I called at least four times I had to wait 12 minutes each call at least.
When I go down there I was very hasty and upset and she didn’t offer any apologetic customer service - at all instead she in raged me further with her attitude and short answers without any great solutions.

I booked this hotel on Expedia ( 2 rooms) then called the hotel to confirm the room types. King double suites with private patio next door to each other. I got a verbal and email confirmation.
Upon arrival the hotel it looked like it’s under construction. They added 18 dollars a night fee to make sure employees were being rewarded for their work and a whopping 30 dollar parking fee. What ever, it’s late and we pay it. We arrived up to our rooms and first they were not next to each other, second only one room had a patio. The other room had a cement roof over the car park. The furniture was not in great shape and the shower was moldy. When we questioned why only one room had a balcony after paying so much for the room… reply was” we can’t have all the rooms the same” even though the pictures and email confirmed it. No management and only one employee at the desk. Very unfortunate

I was looking for a place to stay for Horror Nights and this was perfect. I was traveling with 2 other friends and we booked this place for Thursday night. I really enjoyed how easy the parking was, I didn't have to go up a big structure like at universal, it was all on one floor. After checking in we were able to enjoy some drinks at the bar. They don't have an extensive wine list, so we ordered lemon drops and martinis which were 10/10. Our bartender Savanna was attentive and friendly. Afterwards we were able to walk to universal studios which only took around 6 minutes to their tram that then brought us right to the front entrance.

The room itself felt more like a condo than a hotel, so I would recommend if you like more of a "homey" feel instead of luxury. The location is also the best, saved us from having to pay for parking at the park.

Would not recommend this hotel as it is miles away from Los Angeles and although it says close to universal it’s actual 12 minutes by car not foot. To get anywhere you need car. From here to Los Angeles it’s approx 1hr or more away. There is nothing close by and from airport is $140 dollars by Uber. If you choose to flyer bus it $20 dollars then you need to take Uber €40 then approx 2hrs from airport. The hotel toilet was not great as no running water, the toilet was not that clean either. The few shops close by are not regular grocery shops and places to eat are few and far. There is no safe in room and only safe is reception we’re the reception has key and you get one too. The hotel room is paper thin and we spent night listening to couple next door fighting. 😡great family hotel not.

BLVD hotel. Unacceptable.

We are touring round for our honeymoon and this hotel has got to be the most unhygienic, unfriendly hotel we have stayed at.

Photos below show food left on the floor and on one of the chairs. There’s a dead bug on the bed. The dust and mould around the sides is disgusting. The balcony is disgraceful, shouldn’t even be allowed to be on it. The lock on our door is broke which does not give us safe peace of mind. And finally the noise from the main road makes it impossible to get a good nights sleep. There was a crack in our door also so the noise from the Main Street was unbearable. They did nothing to find a solution. The air con in the room was noisy when on and the room boiling when not.

We’ve booked this as it’s my partners birthday on Monday and we have a special tour booked at Universal studios tomorrow. This has been a huge disappointing start to the trip. And as for Booking.com you shouldn’t even have this on your website for £190 or more, we’ve stayed at nicer motels on the way for £50.

A poor lady on check out said her air con hadn’t worked all night. Hotel should be ashamed.

Not good enough.

Jack Claxton

It pains me to write a negative review, but I wouldn't trust anyone staying here after the traumatic experience we had there in August 2020. Unfortunately, during the pandemic, their clientele and staff have changed, leaving the hotel reek of smoke & with transient guests coming in and out of the lobby at odd hours. We had to change rooms two times and settle for a room without a balcony, no utensils, an itchy couch, broken cabinet, and a door that didn't consistently accept the key card that had to be fixed by maintenance. My partner was severely injured after stepping on a nail sticking out of the floor board. Most of the front desk staff I interacted with shared no concern. The manager was also a nightmare. It took calling every day for over a week to finally reach him, and when I did, he spoke over me, showed no concern, gave excuses, and offered $50 refund for a 2-night stay. I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and the management has not responded. I only felt it my duty to share my experience here to warn people considering a stay.
