This is a great hotel! Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional.
The vibe is Old Hollywood, but the hotel has great amenities.
Would definitely recommend and we would return there.
The bar at the restaurant was excellent - we were surprised there was a bar, but the quality of the liquor was good and the bartender was very good.
We ate breakfast and the food and service were good!

Clean revitalized historic hotel. The attention to detail is incredible, from the soft warm lighting in the room to the way they fold the toilet paper. The beautiful hardwood floors, unbelievably comfortable bed, and the antiques furniture all help make this place feel like its 1920s heyday. Service was also wonderful and attentive and the room was spotless.

Unfortunately the hotel’s best traits, its age and its historic beauty, are also it’s biggest detractors and the reasons why I don’t think this particular property could ever reach the point of five stars anymore. Rooms are small. Walls are thin. Bathroom is cramped. I would also note that the location is not really walkable. (If you want coffee in the morning definitely consider walking down a block to Alfred at The Line, but that’s really your only option). That said if you have a car this location really can’t be beat as you’ll be less than 20 minute drive from Hollywood and less than a 20 minute drive from downtown. there’s also a metro stop down the street which is relatively convenient albeit not always necessarily going to take you exactly where you want to be.

If you’re trying to stay in Koreatown at a relatively trendy place because of the quick drive to tourism sights to the northwest and east your only options are this and The Line. The Line is definitely a step up. It has trendier furnishings that feel more like contemporary art than historic conservation and a pool. But The Line is also about 30% more expensive with parking that is more than double the cost. If you’re hoping to hang out at your hotel then stay at The Line. If you’re looking for a comfy place to sleep at night while you’re otherwise out touring, stay at the Normandie.

We had a fantastic visit to LA, and a very nice stay at Hotel Normandie. The property is beautiful, and the rooms were cozy. The beds were super comfy too!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave us an umbrella to use on that one unusual day it rained, they always welcomed us when we came back, and were very clear about the room charges and amenities when we checked in.

NOTE: there is a $20/day resort fee that is in addition to your room charge. This is presumably to cover the cost of the continental breakfast and daily wine happy hour, both of which we took advantage of! The coffee at the breakfast is actually pretty good, and they offered a variety of food that was perfect to get your day going.

If you are looking for a more substantial breakfast, or a late night cocktail and slice of pie (RECOMMENDED) then check out Cassell's, which is adjacent to the hotel! They make amazing burgers, milkshakes, cocktails, AND pie, and their staff is super awesome.

My only slight complaint is that it was quite warm in the hotel? Like, overly warm. Not sure if they cranked up the heat because it was cloudy outside, but the heat was not needed, because it's LA, and it is not that cold! Our room was also quite warm, so we slept with the window open most nights. I'd be curious about how the hotel and rooms are when it is actually hot outside!

That being said, I would definitely stay at the Normandie again!

The tout old school glamor as a selling point but I just found it ver comfortable, warm and homey. I loved the vintage style in the bathroom. The shower is high so it's oerfect for tall people and the tub is deeper than it first apoears

Booked 2 rooms through Hotel Tonight App which usually has a limited selection of whatever is available last minute, but the staff was able to make sure our rooms were close to each other which was extremely thoughtful. The beds were extremely comfortable and although the toiletries could use an upgrade (BIGELOW hand soap had weird residue feeling) the bathrooms were spotless. Check In/Out experience was a breeze, along with valet service across the street. Would recommend!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Hotel Normandie. It was a beautiful hotel that really made you feel like you are in 1940s Los Angeles (nothing was outdated, old, or ugly, though.) The location is also fabulous. The room was small, but it's the perfect size for a couple who is just trying to get away. The texting system that they have with the front desk is super helpful, and the staff here are nice. Checking and checking out was a quick process. Staff is also very responsive and helpful. During our 2 night stay, we requested an iron/ironing board, 2 masks, and an extended check out time of 1:00 and they responded really fast and were able to accommodate us at the same speed, which is a huge step up then what we're used to in Las Vegas... lol. I am only going to stay here for all my LA trips going forward and would recommend it to everyone who is thinking about it. I see some complaints here about the noise, I can't really chime in for that one, we were kinda tipsy both nights and slept through the night. From what I could tell it was a great location, it only took us 15 minutes to get to West Hollywood and about one hour to get to Redondo Beach.

Came her because of the proximity to the Wiltern Theater (10 minute walk).
It was such a great experience we plan on coming back just to eat and relax for a weekend.
The all the staff is really helpful and friendly. The room was really pretty, super comfy bed and pillows. The restaurant is great for dinner or late night with good specials. Don't miss the pie.
Nice touches like water at front desk at check in or at any time and a refillable carafe in the room with filtered water on each floor.
You will not be disappointed staying here. Great experience,

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and loved our stay. The hotel is very elegant and the rooms were lovely with the comfiest beds, we asked for quiet rooms after reading reviews about noise and we are at the back/side of the property and were not disturbed by any noise whatsoever. Staff were very helpful and room cleaning was great. Enjoyed the complimentary wine evening on a few occasions which was a lovely touch. So close to the rail network and bus stops and easy reach of all the connections for the sights of LA. Thankfully no resort fee either ! Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Hotel Normandie is located in a safe, walkable, area, with plenty of food, nearby, The staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms, hallways and lobby were clean. Cassells is a burger, sandwich, salad restaurant located within and is excellent for fast casual dine in or take out to your room. The hotel has historic character but that actually works against it as the hallways and rooms are not carpeted-making sound carry. The room is so small, a party of 4 should not be allowed to book it. There is no room for a table, or desk and chair or iron or microwave. So eating or working on your computer needs to be done from your bed. Counter space is very limited so laying out suitcase and items is a challenge. Also, each night, we were woken by night-club music. Not sure where it was but it was loud enough to keep us awake.
Parking by default is at an adjacent parking lot. It feels like self parking but requires a valet. They literally park the car 10 feet away in a very large, empty parking lot so the obligation of tipping seems unwarranted. I'm not a stingy tipper but I feel that the point of valet is convenience and the current way this is set up is not convenient and the customer does all the work. If it's due to covid, then there is just as much contact doing it this way as there would be making a car exchange in front of the hotel like a traditional valet. Starbucks and many yummy Korean restaurants are a walk away. Grocery/pharmacy is within a 10 minute walk as well.
If the hotel selection in the area was sparse, we'd visit again, but since there are many other options in the area, we will go somewhere else next time.
