Needed a change of scenery and found a gem! Beautiful views of the port, beautiful facility, clean spacious rooms, extremely friendly staff! Had a Studio King Suite on the 8th floor with came with a beautiful view of The Queen Mary! The outdoor patio had a propane grill available for guest to use. Even though they were not allowed to offer the usual breakfast buffet, they did provide a nice variety of grab and go options, which when paired with the in room kitchenette made our stay feel like home! There is a walking trail behind the property, one going along a boat dock which leads to a secluded picnic area. The other way takes you over the bridge to the shoreline which has restaurants and a number of activities for everyone to enjoy! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice place to stay in the heart of the action in Long Beach!

We checked in about 4PM having requested a high floor and water view. We were thanked for our loyalty and given room keys. She said she only had the 4th floor. Asked if at least water view, said no parking lot. Another family checking in next to us had no mention of loyalty yet we hear them being told they were upgraded to a water view. Upon mentioning this to the woman checking us in, suddenly another water view suite became available still on 4. The suite was large and very clean. There was a full kitchen but absolutely nothing as far as dishes or silverware. There wasn't even a glass or cup in the room. Not the hotel's fault but the shuttle that used to be run by the city no longer runs making for an expensive cab ride anywhere you want to go. The only restaurant walking distance is about .3 miles in the Hilton Maya. A 5 minute cab ride to the aquarium was $10 plus tip. Parking at the hotel is paid.
Marriott has rolled out a new breakfast which was absolutely disgusting. Omlettes souffles and waffles prepackaged in cellophane. Stale cereal in plastic tubes. The only fruit was green bananas that you couldn't peel. Even the milk was a one gallon container for everyone to share.

The hotel is very nice located, is just in front of the ocean, and is not in the very downtown but is very near by, to be honestly that quality makes it better, because is out of the downtown traffic and noise but is very very close to it.
The hotel is very good condition and rooms are spacious and comfortable, is a little pricy and you don't get not even a bottle of water of courtesy (at least the first night) like the others Marriott's brand does.. But what is not pricy in California if you want something nice?
I definitely will come back to this hotel.

Avoid at all cost. Our room smelled like a combination of feces, marijuana, and cigars. Probably a bit of all three. Actually felt nauseous.

Duct tape holding together a fire alarm. Stained and ripped carpets. Torn cabinets. Crap location. It has nothing going for it.

They could at least have a staff that was top notch. Printer not working (of course). Was told by staff he'd be right over. Half hour later no one there. Melissa Lopez skips up and she hears me struggling with the non functional printer. Asks if I need help. Yes, a half hour ago, I ask. I JUST GOT HERE she blurted defensively. No S*&t Sherlock, you are understaffed with one person during the busiest weekend of the year (Long Beach Grand Prix). She can't fix. Tells me to email her. Doesn't give an email. Rolls eyes when I ask. It must be hard to find help these days.

At least it's cheap, right? Wrong. Since it's a busy weekend, prices are double, even though they aren't anywhere near the actual Grand Prix and I wasn't here for it anyway. $500 price gouging dollars a night for a crappy hotel and crappy service. Do yourself a favor and just go anywhere else.

I checked in late Saturday night after a day in Avalon on Catalina Island. Slept in on This particular Sunday morning. Due to Covid The traditional included breakfast buffett was replaced with a Grab and Go Breakfast. This was a nice replacement.
Unfortunately this option ended at 9am. Normally the buffett would have gone to 10am. I arrived at 9:30am and was only disappointed for a second.
The front desk receptionists, Adriana and Jessica were very kind and made an exception. They went out of their way to put together a Gab and Go bag for me and family.
If you're traveling to Long Beach it is a very nice and clean hotel within a short drive to the downtown area.

We checked in about 11:30 pm. (Two adults and a child) When we arrive there is a man arguing with security and the security guard laughs and says he has already pepper sprayed the individual. We shower and try to let the problem resolve. We go to go back to get the rest of our stuff from our car and the security says he will walk us to our car since it was unsafe. The gentleman came back with a metal bar and the security officer left us in our car and ran inside! We talk to the Night person at the desk and tell him we do not feel safe (as this was one of the first nights riots had been popping up. He said he was scared as well and would not be coming into his shift the next evening because of “how bad it had gotten in that area.” We decided we did not feel safe enough (especially with a child) to continue to stay. This was barely 2 hours into the stay. The night person apologized and advised that the manager would “definitely be calling you about some sort of refund” He also indicated he would leave her a note to give us a call. She never called. We called her and she was the least understanding person I’ve ever come into contact with. She said she would not refund us at all as security did it’s job in her opinion and it wasn’t her fault we felt scared for our lives. If you have children or value your life at all, I would stay somewhere else.

Horrible service Terrible STAFF, insincere from the top down, uncomfortable and unsatisfactory for hosting clientel in town as well as family or friends.
Would rather stay someone lower star and pay than be comped to stay here , if that says enough. Overly flavorless and bland, tasteless decor and heavy tension. Anti social environment. No-class. Their breakfast could be improved if they got advice from a trailor park grocer.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The front desk staff were all fantastic, the rooms were clean and pleasant to be in, great view, kitchen fully stocked. Location was good, we felt safe, nice walk to the Queen Mary. Nice pool with a great view. Decent grab n go breakfast.

We stayed at another residence inn earlier in our stay, and it was terrible on many levels, but this one was amazing!

I would absolutely stay here again!!

One complaint - the first room we got smelled like smoke, and they promptly moved us. I thought Marriott leaves rooms empty for 3 days between stays due to covid. Why would a room still have a smoke odor 3 days later? Anyway, we ended up moving to a great room and aside from a slight AC malfunction, we had no other issues.

I loved the waterfront unobstructed panoramic view. I did not realize that the hotel faces east, so when we saw a beautiful sunrise in the morning, I was confused since I am used to California sunsets. I only wish hotel had a balcony.

The second positive is that the hotel has a fully stocked kitchen, all clean and in good shape. Very spacious rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful in helping me in a very specific situation.

Hotel breakfast was a grab and go bag that was minimally acceptable.

Hotel is adjacent to many walking paths, a pedestrian path across bridge all the way to marina and beach.

Two things I disliked was the expensive $26 parking. Also, reservations are needed for pool, but we were not told about it and were not able to use pool.

Wanted a local getaway and came here. Our studio room was as expected...clean and stocked kitchen if we wanted to cook.

Loved the teatree shampoo and lemon soap.

The sheets on my bed must have been old as the corners kept popping off on both side. Had to continually fix the corners in the middle of the night.

Breakfast was pretty good. Wish the waffle maker was out instead of the soggy pancakes and waffles they put out. Breakfast wasn't always ready on time...the 1 morning they were 10 minutes late and still wouldn't allow access to the 3 people waiting. Items available varied by time of the morning.

Staff was friendly...front desk always had multiple people working it.
