Detailed Reviews
Our flight originated from Honolulu was delayed and retrieval of the luggage was taking longer than expected at Long Beach airport. The quick (3 minutes)free shuttle ride to the hotel was excellent, the driver turned out to be the same nice lady that checked us in, which she also upgraded our room. Mahalo for her kindness to make our short stay enjoyable. The room we were assigned to was located on the third floor, spacious living space with two TVs and a queen size bed. Plenty of eateries across the parking lot, along with a whole food maker located adjacent to the hotel. We had a late dinner at the burger joint opposite the hotel, then an excellent sleep for the night. The next morning we took Uber to the nearby town of Cerritos for some Asian food (round trip costed $26) then headed back to the hotel to get ready for our afternoon flight to New York. We prearranged the shuttle with the reception, which is recommended. Overall, this is an outstanding property, great staff, convenient location for traveling to Long Beach Airport.

I was impressed with the very friendly staff from the moment I checked in with Daniel. In addition to being very friendly and personable and giving me a very nice room he also was accommodating to the guests behind me and clearly is a calm and capable employee. Juan and Elena both helped me at the Bistro for dinner and were extremely accommodating and kind. Great folks. Love it when I get to know their names and they go above and beyond

Shuttle pickup was quick and painless from Long Beach airport, and our driver was also the gentleman who checked us in. He was very friendly and inviting and a great way to start our stay the night before our cruise. Room was clean and beds comfortable. After disembarking the ship, we returned for one more night’s stay before flying home the next day. We were a little early to check in, and were just hoping to leave our luggage, but they were kind enough to accommodate us in to a room a bit earlier than check in time, for which we were very grateful. The same gentlemen from our prior stay checked us in again, and he is a real asset to this hotel. His customer service is spot on. Once again our room was very comfortable, and our trip back to the airport was quick and convenient the next morning. An excellent two nights at this hotel.

I am a loyal Marriott customer. Our Christmas trip to California was cancelled by Southwest Airlines so we did not need to stay at the hotel. I cancelled the hotel online. I called the hotel to ask if the manager would be willing to refund the cost of $182.43. All he was willing to do is push our reservation out a year or 2 years which does me NO good as I live in Florida. I asked if a credit could be put on my Marriott account to allow us to use it at another Marriott location. Was told this was not possible.
So disappointed that this manager was not more understanding and compassionate. I wrote to Marriott corporate in hopes that they will intervene and provide some compensation.

Hello Connie C, Thank you for speaking with me in regards to you non-refundable advance purchase reservation. I apologize in regards to your disappointment. When you book your non-refundable advance purchase reservation. The system did ask you to acknowledge on two different occasions during the booking process that you understand that no refund will be provided for this booking. I did offer an opportunity for a future non refundable reservations as a gesture of goodwill, since you had already cancelled your reservation prior to speaking with me. This reservation could be pushed to a future date at least 24 hours prior to your arrival date. The same as the reservation that you had cancelled. However you declined the offer. From what I understand from a Southwest agent, they are currently offering compensation based on individual situations. I would suggest reaching out or filing a claim through Southwest via their 1-800 number or online on their website. Thank you for your feedback.

Zero Verizon cell service on both my personal and work phone inside the building. After several attempts we're made to connect to the WiFi (which was not working) I returned to the front desk. After explaining my situation I was asked by Lisa if I had a Verizon. Which both phones are. Lisa reacted as me having Verizon was my problem as there were "No Verizon towers in this area". I asked to switch rooms to a higher floor which was denied as it "wasn't their problem".
I was told a call will be placed to resolve the Wi-Fi issue. After waiting about 30mins I needed signal to do my job and needed to move hotels due to lack of phone service inside the building or WiFi (Note: 1ft outside the exit door and 5G is available. I believe the issue is the building not a tower issue. But that's opinion).
Apon attempting to check out I was in front of Lisa explaining I needed to work and was told a refund for the room would not be given. Manager Mya Soto was called over and did not confirm a refund would not be given and just offered 5000 points to resolve the issue for the inconvenience. I didn't except and returned my key cards. I drove to another Hotel 8mins away.
When working with my companies Amex and attempting to rebook a hotel down the steet, a call was placed to the Long Beach Courtyard where Manager Mya Soto refused the refund. I drove back to the hotel with Amex on the line and met with Manager Mya in person and I was advised then even though I was not satisfied and still having issues connecting to the Wi-Fi that a refund would not be given and the same offer for 5000 points was given instead of a refund. I wasted nearly two hours of my day at this point.
So, to my complaint. Forcing a customer to stay in a room that does not live up to basic expectations is not right. The hotel was clearly having issues and I needed to work. Additionally, Lisa's overall customer approach borderlines on condescending which did not help the situation. Manager Mya was polite and calm, but even after the clear issues were explained again, a refund was refused and no attempt was made on finding a resolution that helped me (such as switching rooms). I missed several work calls due to this situation. I also only received 2000 points, not the 5000 promised.
I have been a member with Marriott for 5+ years and have stayed with at numerous Marriott hotels and have never felt so insignificant or dismissed.
I have had to advise my companies national travel department to not allow other employees stay at the Courtyard in Long Beach due to the buildings issue of blocking cell service.

Thank you so much for your valued feedback. it is unfortunate to hear that you decided to change location due to your personal cell carrier reception. While the service of your carrier is out of hotels control. Mya did apologize and provide you with information to get connected to our Wi-Fi service to help try and improve your cell reception with Wi-Fi calling. She did inform you that due to our sold out evening that we would unfortunately not be able to locate you to a different room or provide you with a refund due to your choice of the early departure. I am happy to hear that you found other accommodations during this highly anticipated time in Long Beach and wish you continued safe and successful travels.

I just wanted to post a HUGE shout out to the staff at the Long Beach Courtyard by Marriott. My wife & I were on our way home from Catalina when some plans fell though & we were looking at a 5 hour wait until our flight at the airport, since they don't hold bags for more than 4 hours before a trip we couldn't even check in. I saw that the Courtyard was nearby & we made our way over thinking we would get some food & just hang out. When we got there we discovered that the restaurant didn't open until 5 but the desk staff was nice enough to offer to hold our bags so we could walk across the street & get some food even though we weren't staying there. I was certainly not expecting that. They made what could have been a tedious & uncomfortable wait into something was much, much better. Thanks again for all your help!

Close to the Long Beach airport, free shuttle service. We called from the median with our bags and they arrived in a few minutes. Steps away from the Long Beach Exchange with shops and many choices for food. We took an Uber to Long Beach state, which was a 10 minute drive. When we left for the airport at 5:30am a front desk person drove us because the driver wasn't there yet. The room was clean and decent. Felt safe staying there alone with my daughter. They are undergoing renovations so not sure how that will impact the stay until it's done.

The front desk staff are very friendly and check-in was fast. I got to my room and didn’t have the king size bed I had reserved. I called the front desk, was put on hold multiple times, and then told that they are full and I was given a last minute change to 2 queen and the room is larger than a king room. The rep stated that a reservation is “only a request”. The toilet ran for a few minutes after flushed and there was hair on the floor in the bathroom. There are also noticeable stains on the carpet. This is probably the worst taken care of hotel which I have stayed during COVID. Very much a disappointment.

This hotel is in a great location. Right next to a Whole Foods, it is also right next to an outdoor shopping center. Also right near by is a food court/bar in "the hangar". The hotel was super clean and quiet. The breakfast is a bit pricey, but the service is great. Braxton works in the cafe area, and was one of the main guys that really made my stay awesome. As I write this review I am actually staying at a different Marriott in Long Beach, and I am wishing I had stayed at the Courtyard again.

Lisa and Zoya have no business working at the front desk. They were very very rude and unprofessional. We were charged the wrong price and when we asked about it both Lisa and Zoya were blaming me for the error. Lisa had put in the wrong room number.
