EXCELLENT: Velia who works at the front desk and the grounds crew are literal lifesavers!! We’ve got a Springer Spaniel who has developed the crazy skill of opening locked doors and just so happens to be terrified of strangers. We came back to the hotel after Thanksgiving dinner to find our hotel door open and the dog missing. Both Velia and the grounds crew recognized our dog as “Staying at the Hotel” because they had seen me and my husband walking him. The grounds crew alerted Velia and the front desk. Velia managed to get Tre into the hotel lobby area but was unable to get him to come to her. She did her best to keep him inside as long as she could. He eventually escaped her supervision shortly before we arrived back at the hotel. Luckily, he stayed on the grounds and didn’t venture out onto the busy roadway. SI am happy to report he is safe, warm, and happy.

The Hotel Room Kitchen also saved our Thanksgiving. My sister was supposed to host our family dinner but became ill. I had to step in to cook most of the meal from the hotel and my mom hosted. The kitchen was perfect for saving our holiday and our family celebration!

Great gym with lots of workout options.

SUGGESTION: The only reason I am giving this hotel 4 stars is because there are no disinfectant wipes in the gym so you can’t clean equipment between people. The hotel is also not in the best neighborhood, and they do get what appears to be some “long-term” residents. Just something to be aware of if that is important to you or makes you nervous.

Checked in on Saturday, September 10, 2022 and was coldly approached by Matthew ..(I won’t even use the term "greeted " because I didn’t get one). He walked slowly from the back room and and checked us in after asking a ton of unnecessary questions. While we were getting things together inside the lobby, he went back into the room and another guest walked up to the counter…he did not come back out for quite some time. Maybe we were interrupting his nap or something. He was just as cold to that guest as he was with us. His super dry, nonchalant, and lazy attitude was disgusting. The rooms are ok … ice maker was loud through the night but otherwise ok. Anyway, the next morning at breakfast I had the pleasure of interacting with Velia. She was beyond welcoming, very upbeat at 7am, and eagerly assisted me with things I needed. I was dreading going to breakfast if I had to interact with Matthew. So sad. But Miss Velia turned by stay into sunshine. Whoever hired her….give her a raise.

Spent a few days at this property well in the Manhattan Beach area on business. Overall nice property. The configuration is a little odd. However, it works parking can be tight. Location of rooms to breakfast, but again made it work.

I checked in late and all I wanted to do was shower and go to bed. I’ve stayed at this location many times and never once have had any complaints. This location needs to have a major update on American Disabilities Administration guidelines, as to my surprise, I was argued with and told a service dog still has fees for the stay. I don’t think anyone has ever charged someone for their wheelchair. This angered me. I carry documentation that I don’t normally need, but in case I do. I’ve never had such a closed minded person come up with reasons why I was charged. One of them included her telling me she also has a service dog and gets charged at hotels. If her dog is in fact a service dog then I told her that her rights are being violated as well. I’m tired and they still have not refunded my money. I hope I wake up tomorrow to finally see someone did their job and knows the laws.

This hotel is very close to the airport. About 10-minute drive. But that is all it has going for it. The rooms were okay but not super clean. The staff seemed bothered by the guests. You can definitely tell they are unhappy. We were in line to check in when the couple in front of us were frustrated in waiting and left. We got up to the counter and there was no one there. So, we moved to the far end of the counter and could see the desk clerk playing solitaire on their computer through the door. We loudly said hello several times before for they looked up. In the morning we had a super early flight and politely asked about getting breakfast early. They were already set up. But they refused and said we had to wait until opening time. I totally understand but I don't understand the curt response in asking a question. We did not feel welcomed at this hotel and will not return.

I recently stayed in the penthouse over the weekend and the new renovated suites look great! I love how spacious the suites are. You don't feel cramped by being in a standard sized room. There is plenty of space to spread out and the penthouse suites can easily accommodate 5 people. The full kitchens with stoves and refrigerators are a huge plus. Shout out to Jesse at the front desk who checked me in and provided great customer service.

Check in was a breeze. Justin was so quick an d helpful with any questions or explanations. The rooms are clean updated and spacious. I have to bring up the excellent customer service I received from Justin. I was greeting a co worker in the lobby. She asked how everything was and I simply say everything great but I am gonna put in a request for a soap refill. Justin immediately said he was on it. He remembered my name and told me not to worry and it would be taken care of... THAT IS 5 STAR customer service right there. Fast forward a hour later as I am walking back to my room after help co workers there is a bottle of body wash at my room waiting for me. WOW. Truly felt cared for and listened too.. Excited for the rest of my two month stay..

I enjoyed my stay here in Long Beach. Aja was so sweet. I’m not sure if that’s how you spell her name but she was there the night I checked in. She had excellent customer service that I haven’t experienced in a while and she also preceded to give me an upgrade which I was truly grateful for. I’m giving this review to make sure she gets her recognition. Jomari checked me in and he was great as well, very attentive. My room was nothing short of great with lots of space. I needed and appreciated the space given. Thank you so much.

This is an old question, but I have stayed in many Residence Inn two bedroom suites and they all have doors to the bedrooms. A penthouse with a "loft" might be an exception but wouldn't be the rule.

There is a Spires Restaurant on the corner of Willow and Lakewood. Probably less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. You do have to cross a busy intersection to get there. I did not eat at this restaurant, so I can't attest to the quality of their fare.
