We stayed with friends in Niseko on a recent trip to Hokkaido then decide to spend some extra time at the Kiroro hotel as it was not far away (about 30mins drive). This was a first summer in Hokkaido as we often go for winter skiing. We were pleasantly surprised with the Kiroro facilities and room size (bigger than you would normally expect for a Japanese hotel). During our stay all of the hotel and restaurant staff were very helpful and courteous when we asked questions or needed help. As this was during August 2020 some of the facilities were closed (most of the shopping area on site was only open one day that we were there and some of the restaurants were also closed) but the pool and Onsen were open and we enjoyed them a lot (every day in the Onsen) as well as the on site activities. We opted for a activity day pass that let us use a variety of activities for a reasonable price. We tried paddle tennis, park golf, video games (all be it very old), slack line and mountain bike rental. The mountain bikes were great fun and we had a good time exploring the local area and even found a small waterfall. For people coming in winter there are also lifts very close to the hotel and I sure it would be busy during this time. We also spend a day in Otaru and this was also a highlight. There were many tourist shops and shopping streets to explore and we spent most to the day there and there were a variety of restaurants to choose from. Otaru is know for its excellent seafood and it did not disappoint. The town also has several glassware stores and there were interesting to look at.…
Stayed in September. Checkin took longer than it should have (15 minutes to process my card). Pretty empty and most shops closed, as was pool and hotel onsen. We had access to the other onsen which was quite nice. Lounge had live music the nights we were there. Food isn't cheap, but with low season Platinum discounts of 30% not too bad. Our room was spacious, though a "king" was really just two twins pushed together. As a Bonvoy Platinum I had hoped for a suite, there are some on the top floor, but it wasn't offered. Breakfast was good. Location is pretty isolated, nothing to walk to except Sheraton. We hiked a third of the way up the mountain behind the Sheraton that leads to Mt Yoichi, but realized we didn't have time to make the summit (it is a long hike). I could see going back in winter.…
After a road trip in Hokkaido, we chose the Kiroro to relax for a few days and enjoy the surrounding nature. Kiroro resort was beyond expectations on every field. Some big efforts have been made in this hotel to make you feel at home. Amazing managers and staff, top service very large, quiet and comfy rooms tasty food tons of activities on site great location Definitely beating the competition around. will be back!
Had a great stay. Rooms are very comfortable and access to the ski resort and slopes very convenient with the magic carpet and gondola. Service was helpful as well. We needed to late check out but our room was booked for the the next guest. Reception lent us another room for us to rest. A visit to the onsen is a must.
The hotel is located in fine ski resort called Kiroro. Since this winter season, there is Gateway Express - so from the hotel we can go to the slope through express Gondola, which is very good convenient. I recommend this hotel for family trip. It has various program like Magic Show and weekend Fireworks. It has coin laundry so also helpful for long trip. There are many restaurants - Japanese, Italian, Buffet, Steak house etc., especially the Alpine Brasserie on the 1st floor was more than expected, it has tasty warm dishes from kids menu to escargot and french onion soup. For Bonvoy members (platinum and above) there is happy hour (17:30-19:30). The staffs are well trained and kind (especially thanks to Ms. Miwa Takahara with very fluent English) Live music is impressive (can submit a request for a song). You should not miss the Magic Show by Fred.…
