Only 10 minutes from the John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA), the hotel is easily accessible from I-5 (Santa Ana Freeway), I-405 (San Diego Freeway) and Hwy 133 (Laguna Freeway). As the gateway to many Orange County attractions, we are a half-mile from the Irvine Spectrum Center and the closest hotel to the new FivePoint Amphitheater. Our hotel is 15 minutes from Laguna Beach, 20 minutes from Disneyland and less than one hour from Los Angeles and San Diego.

I recently had six guests come to Orange County from all across to the US. It was a high-stress, high-stakes situation for myself and my company. Living in Irvine, I knew that there are many hotels to choose from, from the John Wayne Airport area to Anaheim, Fullerton, to Irvine Spectrum. There are even a few within a mile radius of Spectrum. With the combination of convenient access to the toll-roads and freeways and proximity to Irvine Spectrum, I zeroed in on this DoubleTree. On my first contact, I was connected with Caitlin, who secured the rooms for all the guests, and Noel, who took care of the conference room. They gave me a great deal and it was a "set it and forget it" situation. Leading up to the arrival of the guests, I did have to contact them for changes that the guests requested, and they just made it really easy. I didn't get a chance to see any of the rooms, but the guests loved it. The front lobby was clean and welcoming. I even dropped off welcome baskets for the guests which the front desk delivered to the rooms before the arrival of the guests. I know for us, the DoubleTree would be my first call for future guests. The Hilton Double tree went above and beyond service while there for business. The hot tub was magical. The rooms were clean and had everything I needed. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was delicious! Amazing menu. Deanne who worked at the bar went above and beyond while we all ate and gathered after a long day of work. Thank you Deanne!

Our bartender/server in the 90 Pacifica, Deanne, was absolutely remarkable! She was very gracious and accommodating by providing us with the best martini and wine selections along with her recommendations for our entree of salmon and caesar salad. She has a very charming personality. She made our evening even better than expected!!

My whole experience from start to finish was amazing. All the staff is so friendly and caring. They take note of the little things, and really go above and beyond to make your experience memorable. Room was the cleanest I’ve ever had at a hotel, kudos to your housekeepers. FD was warm and welcoming. The shuttle drivers are so kind, perfect timing for everything, Issam is a GEM, he is truly about the experience and made all of our rides so fun!

I stayed for 3 days for business trip. My room was clean and I got a great night sleep. The service was great from the front desk, coffee shop and bar. The shuttle diver Issam was just AMAZING! He was kind, funny and went out of his way to ensure we were on time to all of events.

The hotel was fine. Honestly not worth the extra cost compared to the La Quinta around the corner. Experience was ruined, however, by the nonsense surrounding the shuttle. Don't advertise the free shuttle that will take you anywhere within 3 miles if your employees are going to argue, belligerently. I asked to go the the trader Joe's at 6222 Irvine, which google maps says is 2.9 miles away. I was argued with at the front desk, being told that the closest trader joe's is 4 miles away. I gave them the address 5 times. They then asked the shuttle driver who was noticeably upset and he told me he could do it as a favor for us in 20 minutes, because it was so far. Upon telling him it was 2.9 miles, stating the address again, and saying if it's a big problem for them, we will take a lyft, he begrudgingly said "ok, I'll take you now, but only one way, its 3.5 miles, let's go now" and rushed us to the van. We were literally dressed for a wedding and told them multiple times it was just a drop off. Getting in the van, he again complained about the distance, repeated that he would only do one way and was making it very clear how upset he was. I told him the address again and said google says 2.9 miles. He told me google was wrong. (I wish I remembered his name but this was Saturday afternoon around 3PM on April 15th.) Imagine my surprise when we pull up at a completely different trader joe's that is, in fact, more than 3 miles from the hotel. This guy was so invested in arguing with me that he didn’t pay attention when I directly told him the address multiple times. We did our shopping and still had to take a lyft to the wedding. Again, to the MGMT, do NOT provide a service that you are not prepared to execute well. If it's easier for you, reach out to uber and lyft and set up a coupon code where guests can get $5-10 in credits each day of their stay or something like that. It will be much cheaper than the running costs of an in house service and infinitely cheaper than the perpetual loss of business caused by terrible employees. Other noteworthy complaints include no/broken vent in bathroom? Really? There was something that looks like a vent in the wall but only one light switch that only turned on the light. Room 520 if you feel like fixing it. If that wasn't a vent at all, install one. Next one isn't really a complaint, just an indicator of quality of training and care for the guest experience. Asked for a second comforter around 2am (I work nights so I'm always up late) and the really friendly guy from the front desk brought me a mattress cover. I brought it back downstairs and we laughed and I got my comforter. But as someone who works nights, I know how easily "we" can fall through the cracks because we work when no MGMT is around, which means less oversight, training, etc. This guy could probably excel far beyond where he's at with a little attention. To make it worse (for him) his partner was on her first ever night shift. This is just a general indicator, for me anyway, about how MGMT approaches the guest experience. Basically, I should only have access to decent help when the sun is up? But wait, that's when I get argued with and dropped off at the wrong store.
