For the price, this is a good hotel. I got it for the kitchen set up and the separate bedroom from the main area. I cannot say anything bad, it is not the best place to stay but for the price, it's worth it. Has a good small gym and next to it is a free washer and dryer laundry facility, this is awesome for those that stay long and need clothes washed!!

I'm a young, Canadian, single mother traveling with a teen-age son. I chose this property since we would be visiting a variety of areas in Los Angeles.

I was not interested in a hotel with a pool. The idea of having a kitchen in my room was most attractrive. I like beaches not pools.

This property is close to everything (meaning a reasonable driving distance). Disneyland, many beaches, Knotts Berry Farm. The major highways are close too!

There was some road construction going on in front of the hotel and in LA they do most of the work at night. The first night we arrived I was concerned about the noise from outside in the parking lot of the hotel - BUT inside our room I didn't hear a thing.

The staff are all amazing (day and night staff)- helpful - kind and knowledgeable.
I always knew I would be greeted each day with a cheerfull smile and a polite conversation.

The hotel itself also was up to some renovations - again didn't bother the residents - well not us.

Our room was comfortable and clean. The bed was standard - I'm a travel agent and have stayed in some really high end properties so I know beds and in no way was this bed un-comfortable. It was fine!!! We had a lazy boy chair to lay back in as well, a small desk with internet connection in the room, TV, DVD/VHS player, alarm clock, 3 drawer dresser, iron and board (full size). Good size closet with laundry basket.

The only thing I did NOT like was there were no safes in the closet. You can utilize a lock box at the front desk though.

AC in the room :) Regular size fridge with ice maker. Sink, stove top, microwave, utensils, pots, pans, dishes and a garbage disposal. No oven. Perfect!

They have a seperate room located by the lobby adjoining the the small weight gym. In the room are the FREE washers (you only pay for your own soap and fabric softener) and dryers and a "store" to purchase things like cans of soda, sandwhiches, cookies, chocolate bars, tylenol, hand cream. You just grab what you want, fill out a form to sign it to your room and that's that!

They also have movies (DVD and VHS) to borrow for free at the front desk.

Starbucks and the AMPM gas station and steps around the corner.

The Anaheim express will pick you up at the hotel to go to disneyland. It's $3 a person a day roundtrip. We didn't use this though and we rented a vehicle. You can purchase this right at the front desk.

Room service is only once a week. It's a suite property you should expect that. It's better for the environment too!

Walmart, Target and Albertsons are close by to pick up the necessities.

Some other things we did were:

Disneyland and California Adventure
Goofys kicthen - character buffet dinner
Universal Studios
Soak City at Knotts Berry Farm
Santa Monica Pier/Beach
3rd street promanade
Hollywood
Chinese Manns Theatre
The Grove
Farmers Market
Downtown LA - Santee Alley - great for knockoff brand names and REALLY cheap.
Huntington Beach
Newport Beach
Long Beach
Venice Beach
The Queen Mary
Naples area - love it there!
and LAS VAGAS BABY!!!!

Overall I would go back again and again and stay with Candlewood in Garden Grove!

This hotel is near freeways and is a drivable distance to Disneyland. For all Priceline reservations, you get a studio with ONE queen bed (the hotel has a written policy stating it; the people in front of us argued, so I got to see it). This room set up works for two people who will sleep in the bed together. Sleeping bags on the floor would be crowded. The bed is adequate quality, but not that comfortable. Reading lights are on one side of the bed only, if you're on the other side, you have no light. There is a comfortable recliner in the room, but it needed to be replaced, there were holes in the fabric.

The kitchenette is extremely convenient, with a full size fridge, 2-burner cooktop, microwave and a dishwasher. A full size fridge is a huge help for the drinks and leftovers. There are only dishes for two people (2 spoons, 2 plates, 2 cups, etc). We supplemented with paper plates and stuff from our Knott's Berry Farm takeout.

The good sized closet has a laundry basket, and the hotel has free washer and dryer. Soap is $1.25 per load (bring some with you along with dryer sheets).
They have free high speed internet, but I forgot my laptop this trip. Free VHS tapes to borrow, but dumb titles (bring your own).

Because it's an extended stay hotel, you have to stay 4 or more nights to get housekeeping services. That means no fresh sheets, towels, or glasses. You can turn your wet towels in at the front desk for fresh, but you can't pick them up until the mid afternoon because of the short supply the hotel has.
The studio will house two but is best for one traveler. I'm a corporate travel coordinator and review a lot of hotels. We paid less than $50/night during spring break via Priceline; so I'd stay here again now that I know what to expect.

This is a great option for a long stay, the rooms are very big, they are clean and have well equiped kitchens so you can have meal whenever you want. They have a common room with a gym, laundry area (no cost, only the soap) and food.

The staff was very kind and always looking to make our stay a great one, so much that when we needed some extra nights we came back in the same trip.

The hotel is near the convention center, the Mall at Orange and Disney parks so you dont have to worry about traffic if you are visiting Mickey.

The only comment we have is that the elevators are a little slow but thats a minor thing.

I didn't realize this was an extended stay property. I had a beautiful room with a little kitchen. A big comfy bed and a nice chair to relax in. Dishes were provided and they had free laundry facilities that ran 24hours. You could borrow games and movies, charge items to your room and they had menus for a local restaurant that provided delivery service. The staff was incredible and made me miss my home in Garden Grove so much, but when I visit again, I will definitely stay here.

This hotel is FILTHY dirty and you can smell it as soon as you enter the building, food scraps and trash scattered on the floor in the common areas. The sheets on our bed were dirty from previous guests and when I informed the front desk, they said they didn’t have any clean bedding in the entire hotel. The worst part was the mold in our room. It was so bad it made me sick the first night. I did some investigating of the room and found the bathroom exhaust fan and the AC unit were both covered in mold! The hotel acknowledged the mold, but refused to accommodate us elsewhere. They also refused to refund my money for the rest of my reservation. I wasn’t about to put my health at risk for another night, so I had to pay them $300 for the night that I didn’t even stay at their hotel, and pay an additional $300 for a room at the Hilton. This hotel is a nightmare, management is so rude, do yourself a favor and stay far far away!

The hotel is so filthy that no human should be forced to stay there. From the moment you walk in, an obscene odor greets you. The odor gets stronger when you are inside your room, The room carpet is so dirty that you would have to think twice before stepping on it. The common areas are in bad condition with large visible stains on the furniture. Reception is very rude and takes no pride in the property at all. Their excuse is their accommodation of pets. Their pet fees should be used towards cleaning and keeping their property updated.

This is a homeless shelter not a hotel! Dirty rooms. Dirty parking lot. No Safes inside the rooms. No swimming pool. Hallways and elevators are dirty and smell horrible. Uncomfortable beds. Rusty old refrigerator. There were graffiti inside elevators. Suspicious people are staying in this hotel. They're smoking marijuana in the parking lot. Also, a lady was smoking inside her room and the smoke triggered the fire alarm which was so loud and they had to call the Fire Department. This loud fire alarm has ruined our stay at this hotel. People come to hotels to take some rest not to be disturbed by loud fire alarms. Besides, people staying above our rooms were so noisy; they were pounding and stomping on the floor all night. We could hear them talking and laughing. We requested a quiet room on the upper floor but they didn't honor our request. Furthermore, a lady was knocking on the door of her friends/family for about 30 minutes. She was taking loud and asking them to open the door at night. Front Desk employees are neither pleasant nor welcoming except Jaqueline who is OK. Some of the housekeepers are nice and friendly. We will never come back to this hotel.

I stay in a lot of hotels, especially in this area. This was by far the WORST in very long time. Our first room we instantly saw cockroaches, (dead and alive) and no tissue or toilet paper to deal with them. Front desk was nice and let us move rooms and gave us a roll of toilet paper but they didn't' seem shocked by what we found. Our next room was cleaner but HOT (it was 80 that day) and the AC was so loud, it sounded like a motorcycle taking off, we kept hoping it would quiet down but it didn't, we just dealt with the heat. To be fair and give them a plus, the bed was very comfortable, the area was safe and we didn't have any noise issues (outside our room that is). We will not be staying here again.
